Chapter 15
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha
‘Damn it, that girl seems to actually have weakened me! Without being able to pull my incarnations back into my body, there is more of my strength gone. Curse that girl!! I will get her and her pathetic hanyou!’
Kagura walked quickly up to Naraku inwardly smiling. “Milord Naraku.” She greeted, inwardly grimacing as her stomach churned. How she hated that vile man. “Lady Kikyou has not yet located the intruders. But I do say, if I may be as so bold, that I think it’s that little miko girl, Kagome, and her pack.”
Naraku frowned. ‘I know this already! But damn it I need more information! As in how to defeat her for instance!’ Something close to a growl escaped from his throat and he got up and quickly vanished. Kagura stared at the spot in confusion. ‘What is he up to now?’
Kagome and crew were walking around with the help of Kanna to not get caught. They had been keeping a close eye on Naraku for the past hour. They had seen Kagura inform him of not finding them. They had seen him vanish and couldn’t find him for a good ten minutes. When they had finally found him again, they were shocked to find that he was with none other than Kikyou! That whore that tried to claim Inuyasha! This had been a great shock. Then they saw something else.
In through the mirror and out into reality. Naraku was in Kikyou’s room. He was taking his anger out on the little kitsune. His energy was draining. For the life of him, he couldn’t figure out why. So as of now the only thing, as he put it, that wasn’t stronger than him was the kitsune. The poor little thing was bruised, bloody, and possibly had broken bones.
Finally, Naraku tired of this, fore it’s not too much fun to hurt something that can’t hurt you in return. He left and Kikyou obediently followed…
Back in through the mirror to the shocked faces of the group and a sobbing Jisho.
Souta grabbed her and hugged her. “Shh…It’s okay…what’s wrong!?” He sounded genuinely concerned.
“I…That little boy…He’s…the only one…I refused to kill!” She tried to calm down only to start hiccupping through her tears. “And…” She hiccupped. “I can’t…stand to see this happening!” She wailed.
Kagome took pity on the poor girl. “Kanna, can you please lead us to the room where the kitsune is?” She asked hopefully. The albino girl nodded and stoically led them to the room.
‘You know…Now that I look at it…Kanna reminds me of Sesshomaru. It’s funny. The nonstop stoic expressions, the silver-white-ish hair…the white clothing, and they are both quite pale. Maybe Sesshomaru could take her and Kagura in after we defeat Naraku…I’m sure she’d make a great playmate for his dear little Rin.’ With those thoughts, Kagome giggled causing a round of eyes to stare at her questioningly. She held up her hands and shrugged. They all went back to staring in front of them and keeping an ear or eye out for people sneaking up on them.
Kanna stopped abruptly near a door and looked expectantly, if she can look that, at the rest of them. Kagome hesitated at the door and Jisho ran ahead of her, throwing it open and running to the little bundle of kitsune in the corner.
“Oh Shippou you poor thing!!” She cried hugging him. He yelped and jumped shakily away. She looked at him confused, as he slowly made his way to Kagome.
Kagome looked down at her feet and tenderly picked the little fox demon up. He snuggled up to her and buried his face in her chest. After a short pause he asked, “Miss, why do you look so much like Lady Kikyou?” He asked innocently. This got everyone stumped.
“Well…umm…I…err…I don’t know…but my name is Kagome. It’s nice to meet you Shippou. Would you like us to bandage you up some?” His eyes brightened and he nodded, trying to smile, and then grimacing at how it hurt.
She felt her heart tug towards this little boy. ‘An orphan living his whole life with a bastard of a man such as Naraku? How sad! I wonder why he doesn’t like Jisho though…She spared his life didn’t she?’ Kagome frowned at her thoughts and looked at Jisho. She looked as though her heart had been split in two.
Then came a voice cutting through everyone’s thoughts. “As much as I could possibly be touched, we do have a mission.” Sesshomaru reminded them. Rin looked up at him.
“Fluffy, I’m bored!” She exclaimed pouting. Sesshomaru kept his stoic expression but wouldn’t let everyone know how he loved it when she called him Fluffy.
“I could keep her company.” Kanna said staring blankly at Sesshomaru. Rin squealed happily, grabbing Kanna’s hand and running off to a corner of the room to play. Sesshomaru sighed. ‘Can’t Rin ever play with anyone her own age?’
Kagome smirked as she grabbed some bandages and disinfectants to clean Shippou’s wounds.
Jin woke up to see Naraku glowering at him. “You filthy excuse for a life!” He exclaimed, “You failed me! No one fails me and gets away!” Jin didn’t even see it coming, Naraku swiped and he was no more. Kagura gulped. She knew what would happen if he found out that, she was betraying him. Hadn’t he even wondered where Kanna had gone off to? Yes in truth, he had. Kagura had told a very convincing lie. Kanna had broken her mirror, and would need lots of concentration to restore it; thus needed to be left alone until that was accomplished.
Naraku was very unhappy. ‘Killing that pathetic weakling too much more out of me than it should have…What the hell is going on!?’
Naraku kept his malice-type frown in place as he stalked the halls of his castle…thing…
‘God damn everything! That filthy half-breed’s stupid miko is doing something to me! Well, I may have my own miko, but she seems very reluctant to want to destroy that other one…something about an unwritten law or something…eh! Ow! My fucking head hurts! Why the hell does my fucking head hurt!? Oooh!! It’s a sharp pain! Damn it where’s Kikyou!?’
Naraku continued stalking around looking for Kikyou.
‘Damn! Does that man ever rest!?’ A very pissed off miko thought to herself. Every time she finally found a space to be alone, she could sense his evil aura coming closer. She just couldn’t escape. She had found out that that stupid little genius kitsune had been taken by the intruders. Just when she needed him too; she had forgotten what he told her.
Finally tired of running from Naraku she decided to sit and wait for him.
“Kikyou! There you are! I have a headache! Fix it!” He almost whined, but caught himself.
The evil priestess sighed. ‘The things I do for this man…My father.’ She searched his aura for the cause of the headache. There was a blockade. She frowned and tried to tear it down. She failed. This angered her; she was supposed to be a very powerful miko. Who could surpass her? (Lets keep in mind people, she fails to realize just how powerful Kagome really is! Okay? Good! ^.^)
“Naraku…I think whatever is with your headache is an effect of whatever is draining your power…” She said slowly, still trying to process it herself. “I think that…” She trailed off trying to come up with something….
Kagome was devising a plan in her head of just how to defeat Naraku. Inuyasha, as well was doing the same, he outside the room on high alert for anyone who came near. Oddly enough, he hadn’t sensed any youkai in a while.
Sesshomaru was watching Rin and sitting in a bored fashion with his head against a wall.
Sango was sitting on the opposite side of the room as Miroku, as he had already groped her ten times in the past hour. She was currently polishing her Hiraikotsu and talking to Kirara. Kirara was sitting beside Sango purring contently and ‘listening’ to what she was saying…something about how she loved- NO! Hated! Miroku? And Miroku himself was slowly inching his way across the room, to be closer to Sango…and grope her ass of course!
Rin and Kanna were of course sitting in the corner playing happily. Ever so often Kanna would check her mirror for new information on Naraku. He seemed to be currently napping, so she continued playing. Oddly enough, she wore her same stoic expression and her same monotone voice the whole time. It would be somewhat unnerving if you were anyone but Rin. Rin’s overly cheeriness overruled Kanna’s mu (def.: nothingness).
Shippou was resting and regenerating himself.
Jisho was sleeping contently with her head in a slumbering Souta’s lap.
In all, the group was very bored in waiting for their battle with Naraku. They were resting and waiting for him to make the first move.
Kagura had long since gone to remove any suspicions that Naraku might have.
Okay, I lied; I don’t have writer’s block! ~. ^ But this is the third to last chapter. Thank you!!
