Chapter Two: Contemplation

Kouga had been contemplating his situation with Kagome for some time. He knew that deep inside Kagome needed to be loved, freely and without hesitation. He also knew that she felt a deep sense of guilt over Kouga's devotion and unwavering loyalty to her when she felt she couldn't return it. Perhaps she would allow him to hold her, love her just once. He would have to do it carefully and put it to her in the proper manner.

Kouga felt that if he could just hold and make love to her once that she would begin to love him back. He didn't want her to think he only wanted her for sex though. The wolf prince groaned in frustration.

If only he had encountered her first, when she was vulnerable and in need of rescuing…..WAIT, THAT'S IT!!! If he could only rescue her, really rescue her, when Inuyasha was off visiting his dead girlfriend, Kouga knew he could convince her to let him love her.

He knew he would have to wait, wait until Inuyasha left her alone and vulnerable. For months the wolf prince and his two faithful friends had followed closely behind Kagome and her group, watching over them, guarding them at night. Kagome had no idea how often Inuyasha was seeing Kikyo. The undead miko was following the group too. Inuyasha had been abandoning them almost nightly for about a week now to lie in her arms and reminisce about the past. Each night Kouga would set up camp downwind of the small group and watch over them unseen. Three times now he had had to fend off hungry demons intent on the young miko with jewel shards. This time he would simply make sure Kagome knew he was saving them.

Kouga felt a small twinge of guilt over his intended coercion but at this point the situation was desperate. He simply could not allow Kagome to be destroyed by the hanyou's choice. The small hope in her heart that she would be Inuyasha's choice had to be set aside. It was the wolf's hope that when he was done totally loving her she would have no more room in her heart for darkness, pain, or the undeserving hanyou. Kouga would give her nothing less than the world, his life, his last breath. He loved her so totally he could not imagine the lonely centuries without her.

Kouga felt his cock harden at the thought of Kagome spread out in the meadow now facing him, bathed in twilight. He could almost hear her soft moans as he knelt in front of her and worshipped her bare legs and belly before moving up to her…..

"KOUGA!!!!" Hakkaku and Ginta shouted at the same time. "Come and get it."

Kouga realized they must have been calling him for dinner for a while; he had been so lost in his fantasy. Resolving to the task in front of him that night he got up and walked to his pack mates. Tonight would be the night.

I know I promised longer chapters but this was supposed to be part of the first chapter. However, I like the separation. Next chapter will probably be the size of one and two together, at least.
