Inuyasha's POV ~~~~
Kouga charged at me, insanity raging in his eyes. He was no match for me. I was back to my original self, and nothing could stop me from making sure Kagome was alright. He attacked steadily, charging and attacking with his demon wolf kick. I unleashed my Tetsusaiga and began to slice it through the air. Kouga backed into a corner, unable to block my Tetsusaiga. I saw him cower in fear. I laughed at him and his cowardice.
"So let me get this straight. You teamed up with my brother, to kill me so Kagome would fall in love with you? You are pathetic!" I laughed again as I held the sword to his throat, one wrong move and his jugular would be cut and his blood would spill. I saw him try not to breath as he tensed his neck.
"Good, tension, it will make the cut easier." I continued to torture him, not getting close enough to break his skin, but still close enough where he could feel the blade. "This seems like a waste of energy, but now I will kill you."
"INUYASHA NO!" I turned quickly, placing my Tetsusaiga by my side.
"Kagome?" I didn't walk over to her but instead stared at her curiously.
"You can't kill him Inuyasha. I know you have killed many demons before, and technically he is no different, but just think, you would kill someone to win me wouldn't you? Obviously, you are killing to protect me so, why not kill to win me? All I am saying is he is a lot like you Inuyasha. Please don't shed anymore blood." her eyes were pleading with me, even though her voice was calm.
"For you, of course not." I placed my Tetsusaiga back into its sheath and began to walk back to Kagome.
"Thank you." she smiled slightly and sighed with relief. But her relief was short lived, suddenly her eyes grew wide, "INUYASHA DUCK!" I looked at her in a very confused way.
"There is a duck in here?" I noticed she was pointing behind me. I whipped around quickly, seeing Kouga using a wind attack, I shielded Kagome from the wind and practically through her out the door.
"I am sorry Kagome. I can't leave until he is dead. He wont allow it. It's me or him Kagome." I looked down at the ground, not daring to see the hurt in her eyes. What came next surprised me, I felt Kagome's hand on my chin, lifting my face to look at hers. She gently kissed me on the lips, smiling as she pulled away.
"Well then, kick his ass!" I could tell she still didn't want bloodshed, but it had to be done. Kouga attacked again, using another combination of his demon wolf kicks. I avoided every one and jumped across the room where Sesshomaru still stood, looking thoroughly bored.
"I'll be getting to you 'brother'." I stated the word brother in a mocking tone. I backed Kouga into the corner he was becoming familiar with. The tower wasn't very large, and he didn't have many places to run.
"Please, I beg you, don't spill my blood." he tried to talk his way out of his inevitable death. I took my Tetsusaiga and with one quick thrust, his blood was spilled. The blood oozed from the open wound, leaving the stench of blood in the air, and his normally brown clothes were now the color of bloodshed. Kouga's lifeless body fell to the floor in a heap of flesh.
"Now Sesshomaru, You and I, lets go." I raised my Tetsusaiga and waited for Sesshomaru to make his move.
"Yes brother, it is time that you and I ended this little conflict, once and for all." Sesshomaru raised his arm and prepared poisonous claws.
Sesshomaru ran after me, and I dodged his attack. "You are too slow Sesshomaru!" I sliced him with the Tetsusaiga, but somehow he remained uninjured. He charged at me again, I had no where to go, so I jumped out the window. I landed on the ground, some hundred feet down. "Ouch, fuck, oh that's going to leave a mark." I noticed Sesshomaru make his way gracefully to greet me and I waited for him. Again he attacked with his poisonous claws. I couldn't dodge in time, I was hit. "Damn it!" I leaned against the Tetsusaiga.
"You are far to weak to give me any kind of competition." Sesshomaru made to attack again but I laughed at him as I easily dodged.
"You may have hit me asshole, but I can still move!" I continued to dodge him for a few minutes. He began to get angry, he transformed into his demon form. A giant white dog, he looked quite like our father, that angered me even more. I charged at him and tried to slice his other arm off, but he leapt over me easily, knocking my Tetsusaiga out of my hand.
"Aww, poor half demon is defenseless." Sesshomaru almost laughed at me. I used my blades of blood attack, which was dodged easily. Every attack I had left at my disposal was used, and he blocked every attack. I made a break for my Tetsusaiga, across the long muddy field on which we were battling, but he cut me off and kicked it even further away. I growled low in my throat. I looked up to the tower's balcony where Miroku, Sango, Shippo, Kirara, Hachi, and most importantly Kagome, were staring down watching us. I felt my heartbeat quicken. I looked down at the ground. A strange feeling arose in my body. I felt power, and energy flowing through my veins. A sensation I had only felt a handful of times before in my life. I knew what was happening, and even though this was good for the moment, I was powerless to stop it when the time came. This is how it has to be. I thought to myself. As my body transformed I stood up to my brother.
Normal POV ~~~~
Inuyasha's eyes glowed fierce red. He had three purple marks under his eyes, and his wounds healed immediately. There was a smoky aura around him as he growled menacingly at his brother.
"You are a demon." Sesshomaru gasped, and gave a half smile, "Now I will have a real match." Sesshomaru rooted himself to the ground, waiting for his brothers attack; he didn't have to wait long. Inuyasha attacked almost instantly. Using his blades of blood, and his now even more enhanced claws. Sesshomaru dodged most of his attacks, getting hit only twice. Sesshomaru attacked back, leaping with all his might to crush his brother. Inuyasha rolled on the ground, avoiding a giant paw slapping at the ground. Inuyasha ducked behind Seshomuaru jumped up into the air and came back down, slicing through his brother like he was butter. Inuyasha landed on the other side of his brother, still growling. He whipped around suddenly, the same look of hatred and ferociousness that had glowed before. Sesshomaru looked down at his dog-demon form, it was bleeding and his beautiful white coat was now crimson as his blood was absorbed into his fur.
"Inuyasha? You are more powerful then I ever could have thought. I am sorry I doubted you. I regret it." Sesshomaru tried to muster more energy to finish his speech.
"Shut up and fucking die!" Inuyasha growled. Normally in demon form he wouldn't even have the mind sense to say that much, but somehow he knew what he was doing now. Sesshomaru began to speak again, but he couldn't. His heavy body collapsed on the ground, shattering the earth. Sesshomaru had been defeated.
Kagome and the rest of the gang flew down to the battle field. Sango, Miroku and Shippo went to check on Sesshomaru, to guarantee his death. Kagome ran over to Inuyasha.
"Inuyasha. You've done it." he looked up at her she noticed his fierce red eyes, and the marks of a demon. "No, Inuyasha." she put her hand over her mouth.
"Kagome. I don't know how long..." he placed his hand on his head, swaying back and forth where he stood, "how long I can stay in control." he swayed again and his breathing became irregular, "please take the others and go. I love you." he looked into her eyes. His, glowing fire red, yet with deep kindness and love, "Please leave." he sat down on the ground and Kagome ran to his Tetsusaiga. She placed it in his hand and sat next to him.
"Go you guys, this could get dangerous. Please go." the others made to stay but Kagome looked fiercely at them. They complied and took off.
"Kagome," Sango called back from Hachi's back, "I'll leave you Kirara, just in case!" Kagome nodded as her friends rode off.
"Inuyasha. Stay in control. I love you, and we need you here. Please Inuyasha." Kagome's voice was piercing through Inuyasha's brain. Images flashed before his mind's eye; his mother, Kagome, his father, Sesshomaru, Kagome, Kouga, Kagome, Sango, Miroku, Kagome, Shippo. Kagome's voice called to him, from somewhere beyond his current realm of comprehension.
"Kagome." his voice sounded almost normal as he tried to call back to her.
"Inuyasha! I'm here, look at me. Come back to us." Kagome raised his head. His fangs stuck out as he growled involuntarily. Kagome however wasn't frightened. "Inuyasha." he looked into her eyes, more images flashed, Kaede's hut, Kagome's house, the waterfall, the stars, his friends sitting around a fire talking, defeating every foe he has ever come across, and Kagome herself, sitting in a muddy field.
"Kagome?" he looked into her eyes. His eyes were deep amber pools.
"Inuyasha! You are back!" Kagome threw her arms around him and he automatically hugged her close. As she pulled slightly away she noticed his demon marks will still there.
"Kagome. I think I am still a demon. I can feel the power surging through my body. I can feel it all, except, now I am in control." Inuyasha looked away from Kagome staring absent mindedly at the ground.
"What's wrong?" Kagome didn't understand his sudden mood change.
"I am a demon now. I can't come back to you." he tried to look at her but couldn't.
"Oh Inuyasha you baka!" she smacked him gently upside the head. "I still love you. I don't care if you are demon, human, both. You are everything to me." she tilted his head up to greet her eyes. He smiled at her with a genuine smile that light up the dusk sky. Every foe that needed to be removed from his life was gone. Now it was just him and Kagome.
"I love you Kagome." he whispered gently to her, as he brought his lips up to hers. They kissed each other passionately as the sun set down past the trees.
