Chapter 3 I don't want another broken heart.

"Hey Kouga, what would you like to have for dinner?" Kagome asked hoping it wasn't something to hard, since she only had limited supplies.

"Umm..... How about teriyaki chicken?" Kouga asked gazing at his potential mate, `Hopefully she will agree with this. I really do want her as my mate.'

"That sounds good to me, but...exactly how are we going to have that if we don't have any chicken around here?" Kagome pondered as she looked around the kitchen just to make sure she hasn't missed seeing any chicken.

"Don't worry, mate leave it to me," Kouga said as he quickly went outside to get some chicken. As soon as Kouga was outside he dashed to another den to see if they had any chicken he could borrow and then pay back later.

Meanwhile, Kagome was making the sauce and everything else that would be needed, `I wonder if Kouga cares about me? Or is he just after me because of the shards? I hope it is honest affection, because I don't think I can have another broken heart.... Wait a second, what do I mean another broken heart? In order to have another broken heart I would have to love Kouga. But that's impossible, because I don't see Kouga as anything more then a friend.... right??' Unfortunally, Kagome's thoughts were interrupted by Kouga coming inside the den, carrying a chicken.

"Thanks Kouga, it will only be a little while before it is done," Kagome said as she went to start cooking the chicken.

`I wonder if Kagome sees me as more then a friend,' Kouga pondered, `I hope she does.' Kouga's continued to wonder about Kagome's feelings. He heard Kagome call him, saying it was dinnertime and joined her at the dinner table.

They pretty much ate their meal in silence. Except for the occasional unimportant questions, both were lost in there own thoughts.

When they were both done eating, Kagome gathered the dirty dishes. "Don't worry about that now. You can clean them in the morning while I go hunting with the others," Kouga stated as he started to beckon Kagome into another room.

Kagome followed Kouga into the other room. Kagome realized was another room that she hadn't noticed before. Inside this room was a mini library and a living room. It was, over all, a beautiful room really. After all, it was for a wolf prince.

Kouga led Kagome to a low sort of ancient day couch; I guess you could say, " Kagome, you can pick out whatever you want to read." Kouga stated gesturing to the books that lined the shelves.

Kagome nodded her head in acknowledgement. She moved to the bookshelf to select a book to read. Once Kagome found a book that caught her interest, she sat down next to Kouga and started to read.

Kouga looked at the book she chose and smiled to himself, `Kagome has good taste after all. That is one of my favorite books.' Kouga quietly sniffed the air and noticed Kagome's scent had become stronger. `Oh no!! Kagome has gone into a stronger part of her heat, the part that was incredibly hard to ignore. What should I do? I can't stay around her when she is like this. It will drive me insane and I don't want to hurt her.'

"Kouga is there something wrong? You don't look so good," Kagome said worriedly as she looked at him. She leaned towards him and placed her hand on his forehead.

`Oh Kami, I can't take it. But one little kiss won't hurt and it will hopefully subdue me for now,' Kouga thought as he slowly leaned closer towards Kagome.

Kouga ran his left hand thru her hair and put his right hand under her chin moving her head up. He slowly lowered his mouth to hers, brushing his lips against hers. He kissed her with all he had in him, hoping that would be enough for his mate. He heard Kagome softly moan in the back of her throat. He then decided to take this kiss a little father so he coaxed her to open her mouth. Their tongues battled in a little war until they pulled apart to breathe.

"Wow," was all Kagome could say for a while. After all, she was amazed at Kouga's ability to kiss her.

"I think I am tired now so I am going to go to bed if that's all right with you," Kagome said. As she stood up, changed into her pjs and drifted off to sleep.

Kouga followed suit and as soon as he laid down in bed he knew he wasn't going to be able to sleep with Kagome next to him in full blown heat, `Dear Kami, that was the best kiss I think I have ever had in my life. I am glad Kagome didn't push me away as I suspected she would. Maybe she likes me more then she thinks. Perhaps she will one day love me as I love her. I can't wait for that day to come. Then she will give me the pups I have always wanted. Even if they are hanyou I will always love them. We will be one of the happiest family's in the world.' Kouga was finally able to let sleep claim him. He pulled Kagome into his chest and he let dreams take him away.

AN I am finally done Yeah!! Oh and I thought I would mention that I haven't seen the episode in which Kouga kidnaps Kagome and Shippo. So if you know what episode that is could you please tell me please.??
