Chapter 2. Your woman? I think not. (Or do I).

Kagome climbed out of the well, jumped back in again, and repeated this process many times. Soon Kagome finally gave up. 'What am I going to do now? I can't go live with InuYasha and Kikyo. I just left InuYasha. Besides, I would only get in the way.' Kagome thought to herself trying to come up with ideas as to what to do. 'Perhaps I can live with Kaede...No, I can't do that, I would only get in her way with all the tasks she have to do. I mean sure she doesn't mind when we go to her hut after a shard hunt, but after awhile it would get on her nerves. So what am I going to do...?' Before she could finish her thoughts, she sensed two shards coming fast and tried to prepare herself.

Just then Kouga burst through the forest. Kagome heaved a big sigh; thanking Kami that it was only Kouga-kun. As she watched him move towards her, an idea came to her. 'I know,' Kagome silently realized, 'I will ask to stay with Kouga-kun. Hopefully he won't mind. In fact, I am sure he won't.'

" Hey Kouga-Kun, how are you on this fine wonderful day," Kagome said using her sweetest voice and brightest smiles.

" I am fine, but why aren't you with dog-turd??"

"Well, see.... the thing is, I have decided to stop hunting the shards with InuYasha."

"I am very surprised he agreed to this," Kouga said thinking now was his time to get Kagome to agree to be his mate and live with him. (A.N. Poor Kouga, thinking this was his idea.)

"He didn't at first, but I was able to give Kikyo her soul back. She turned out to be quite a nice person," Kagome replied getting ready to ask Kouga if she can live with him and his tribe.

While Kouga thought, 'Wow, she is stronger then I thought. So, not only will she be a great mate but she will be able to protect out pups as well.'

"Kouga, I was wondering if it would be okay if I could live with you and your tribe? I mean…I will be no trouble and I will help out as much as I can. Onegai Kouga?" Kagome said with a tint of hopeful-ness in her eyes.

"Of course, that will be no problem. You can finally move in with me and be my mate and...." Poor Kouga never got a chance to finish before Kagome cut in, "I will not be your mate Kouga I am talking about on a friendly basis sort of thing."

"If that is what you really wish then fine," Kouga replied already thinking of ways to convince Kagome to be his mate. "Well now that's settled let's head towards your new home".

"Okay," Kagome barely got the word out of her mouth before Kouga swept her off her feet and into his arms. "Kagome just go ahead and relax, get some sleep and I will wake you up when we are there." Kagome quickly feel asleep in Kouga's soft embrace and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

Kagome slowly began to wake up and gazed at her surroundings. She soon realized she was on a futon as big as a King size bed. The futon had dark red silk sheets that were very soft to the touch and two gigantic pillows the same color. Over all, it was the best thing that Kagome had ever slept on. 'Wonder why Kouga didn't wake me before we got here?' she wondered as her eyes continued to absorb the details of the room. It was a beautiful room actually with very high ceilings like those of the Victorian Era. There was a love seat at one side and a door that looked like it led to the bathroom. On the other side of the room were more two doors, one to the kitchen and the other to what looked like children's rooms.

Kouga walked carefully into the room and realized that Kagome was awake, "Oh, Kagome glad to see your up. Sorry I didn't wake you but you were sleeping so peacefully that I didn't have the heart to disturb you."

"Thank you Kouga for letting me stay with you and the tribe."

"Your very welcome mate, anytime" Kouga said as he sat down on the bed next to her, "and one more thing, Kagome. You are going to have to stay with me in my den because we don't have anywhere else for you to stay." His lips curved with the hint of a smirk, 'Yeah right,' Kouga thought.

"Well, I guess that's okay. Just don't try anything," Kagome said not totally believing him but going along with him.

"Are you hungry? I will fix us something if you are, cause I sure am," Kouga said.

"Matter of fact, I am hungry but how about I fix something for you. After all you let me stay here."

"Okay," Kouga replied.

Kouga watched as she walked to the kitchen 'Everything is going as planned.' he thought to himself. Kouga sniffed the air to confirm his early suspicion, 'Kagome is going into heat'.
