Into the past: Part 2

`Cayren, please be ok.'

======================================================

The three young girls raced though the thick, dense forest at top speed. All of them determined to get home first.

“I'm tired of running…let's fly, Cinron!” Salcen said and jumped through the trees and into the darkening sky.

“Okay!” Cinron said, and joined her sister.

“Hey! No fair! You know I haven't mastered walking on air yet!” Cayren yelled, trying to join her now laughing sisters, but had no success.

“Yeah, we know that.” Salcen said, still laughing along with Cinron.

“Evil, stupid, son of a-aah!” Cayren started to say, but had tripped over her fallen sister, who had hit a tree.

“Salcen, are you alright?” Cinron asked her fallen sister.

“Ha! Serves you right, Salcen!” she said as she stood up, “See you at the finish line!” and with that, sped off.

“Hey, wait up!” Cinron said, “I'll be back soon, ok Salcen?”

“Whatever…”she mumbled.

“See you soon!” she said and jumped into the sky.

“Almost there…” she said, racing to the forest opening, “and…..made it! HAHA! I won! In your face, Salcen and Cinron! I won!”

“I swear, you take after your fathers' side the most.”

“Huh? Mom! ” Cayren said and ran over to where she was.

She had long blue hair that reached the middle of her back, fangs, talons, and one green eye with golden strips of color, while the other was golden with green strips of color. She wore armor similar to Kouga's, was blue on top, and black on bottom, also only reaching a little above her bellybutton. She wore a green shirt that was different lengths and Pointe shoes. Coming out of her back was an emerald color wing, and a sapphire blue dragon wing. In the middle of her forehead was a sapphire crystal with two (I still don't know what it is) golden colored antennas wrapped around it.

“Cayren, where are your sisters?” her mother asked.

“Well,…”she said.

~5 minutes later~

“…and that's what happened.”

“Well, it's time for dinner, so, we better call them to hurry up.” Her mother said and stood up. “Cinron! Salcen! Time to eat!”

“Huh? Mom! Look! It's Salcen!” Cayren said as she tugged on her mothers' skirt.

“Mom…” Salcen said weakly. “Cinron…”

Their mother gasped as she ran over to Salcens' side. She had cuts all over her body, and was about to pass out from the loss of blood. “Salcen, what happened?! And what about, Cinron?!” her voice filled with worry as picked up Salcen.

“Cinron's gone…”

“We're almost there!” Salcen said. Everyone was running through the Cave of Nightmares, trying to get to the heart of the cave so they could find Cayren.

“There's the opening!” Sango said.

“Let's go!”

“Hhmm? I sense another presence….make that 7 presences. No one is able to break through my barrier, unless…” Yukina said and motioned towards a crystal ball in a corner. “Damn! It's that stupid girl, Salcen! And it seems she's brought along a couple of friends…time for some fun.”

Salcen and the gang had now entered the heart of cave only to find it completely empty.

“What the?!” Inuyasha said.

“Shh.” Salcen said firmly. “ Inuyasha, come here.”

“Why?” he asked.

“Just get over here!” she said, starting to get annoyed.

“All right! Geez….”he said as he walked over to her.

“Can you….”

~5 seconds later~

“Feh, lets go guys.” Inuyasha said and started to walk towards the opening they had come out of.

“Huh? Why are we-”Shippo began to ask only to meet the `I have a plan so don't screw it up' look from Inuyasha and Salcen.

After everyone was out of sight, the group hid by the entrance of the heart of the cave, and talked quietly about the plan they had come up with.

“What do you mean, `Cinron's gone?!'” Cayren asked, tears brimming at her eyes. “Don't tell me she's-she's……..dead?”

“No, someone in a baboon suit, and someone about my height took her.” Salcen said weakly. “I tried to stop the person, but, I only got hurt in the process….”

“Cayren, go get some water, quick!” her mother said.

Cayren nodded. “Alright.” She said and ran off.

“I remember this…” the `older' Cayren said. “Salcen got very sick after that…I stayed by her side until she got better…and then we were sent away to live with Inuyashas' father, Lord Inutaisho. We didn't know why we were sent to live with the lord but, we found out the next day, when we found out our mother was dead. We were only 6 then…but, we understood what had happened. Mom had sent us away to live with Lord Inutaisho because father had fought along side him in battle and had known him before we were born……also, she didn't want us to stay with her because then she would of done more than just kill herself, she would of killed us too. That same day that she killed herself, we got a roll of parchment from mother along with the two swords that we carry now…and two other rolls of parchment, one addressed to each of us, explaining why she killed herself, and how to disguise ourselves. She had killed herself because she couldn't stand losing another `one' that she loved. Father was killed in war while mother was at home and still pregnant with us… a couple days later she gave birth to triplets, us. She named me after my father, Salcen after herself, and Cinron after her mother. Then, I guess when Cinron was kidnapped, she just couldn't take it anymore, and killed herself……” she finished.

“Let's take her inside,” her mother said. “We need to clean her wounds.”

“Ok.”

Suddenly everything faded and a faint voice called out from the distance.

“Cayren……” it called faintly.

“Salcen? Is that you?” Cayren said looking around frantically. “Salcen?!”

Suddenly, out of the darkness, came a sight that Cayren couldn't help but be infuriated, startled, and frightened all at once by it.

“You ready, Inuyasha?”

“Yeah.” He said as he unsheathed his sword.

“Me too.” Salcen said as she unsheathed her sword. “Let's go.”

“Hyyaahh!” they both yelled as they ran through the opening.

“Now! DRAGON'S STRIKE!” she yelled.

“BACKLASH WAVE!” he yelled.

The two attacks swirled around each other and hit the target, making dust and dirt fly everywhere.

“Did it (cough) work?” she asked, coughing.

“I think so (cough).” Inuyasha answered, coughing also.

Sure enough the barrier was broken, revealing Yukina using her powers to replay the past to Cayren. Cayren, having to face the horrible memories, was tied down by vines to a huge rock, that would slowly drain the blood from her body if she struggled at all, which she did a lot.

“Cayren! Err…I mean…” Salcen sputtered out.

Yukina smiled. “You're going to have to tell them who you really are someday, Salcen.”

“Shut up!” she said and ran at her with her sword.

“Fool.” Yukina said and held out her hand.

“Huh?” Salcen said and stopped running.

“DEMENTERS' DARKNESS!” she yelled.

“Ahh!” she screamed as she was hit with the attack.

“Saffren!” Kagome yelled as she raced to her side.

Saffren,(or should I say Salcen) was now laying on the ground, cuts covering her like a blanket.

“Cayren……” she said softly as she closed her eyes.

Cayren was now very mad at the state that her sister was in. Yukina wanted to remind about the day that our sister was taken away.

`Wait!' Something had hit her. Those cuts looked exactly the same as when she came home hurt. So that means……she's the one who hurt Salcen and took away Cinron that day! She had lied to me! She wasn't going to train…she was going to take away my sister!

“That bitch.” Cayren said, her body starting to glow. “She's going to pay for ruining my life!”

“Saffren! Are you all right?! Speak to me!” Kagome said sounding worried.

“Now, to finish what I was doing.” Yukina said, raising her hand again to Cayrens' head.

Suddenly Cayrens' eyes opened, revealing they were all red.

“What is this?!” Yukina said.

Everyone looked up to the commotion that was happening. Cayrens' body was now glowing and the vines had disappeared. Cayren now held up her crystal ball and began to chant:

“Rayearth!”

“Here my plea!”

“Undo this spell,”

“That is on me!”

“Let us be one again,”

“So I can protect my family and my friends!”

“Rayearth!”

She was now surrounded by a vortex of fire, when suddenly a wolf/fox of fire appeared and merged itself into the vortex. As soon as the wolf/fox had disappeared, the vortex dispersed to reveal a very mad Cayren.

She now had beautiful yellow/orange eyes that shined in through the darkness of the cave. Her hair was now orange and went past her shoulders while her bangs stayed the same, two golden locks, one hanging down each side of her head. On top of her head were two wolf/fox ears and in the middle of her forehead was an ivory horn. She wore armor similar to Kougas, except it was red on top, black on bottom, and only reached a little above her belly button. She wore orange fur pants with gold around the top edge. She had fangs and talons on her hands and feet. She had a tail of fire and her feet were on fire.

“Don't you ever touch my sister, bitch.” Cayren said.

She smirked. “Or what? DEMENTERS' DARKNESS!”

“HELLS' RENEGADES!” Cayren said as she held up her hand. A portal appeared in front of her hand and sent demons flying towards Yukina. She then quickly dodged Yukina's attack and landed next to Kagome and the others.

“No!” Yukina screamed as she was attacked by the demons and devoured.

The demons then suddenly disappeared and the room was completely silent. Cayren slowly walked over to Salcens' body and picked it up as if it were a porcelain doll.

“Cayren……” Inuyasha said softly.

A lonely tear escaped her eye as she bolted towards the opening of the cave with Salcen still in her arms.

“Cayren!” Inuyasha called as he bolted after her with the others following close behind.

Cayren ran out of the cave as fast as she could but stopped when she reached a lake. She walked to the edge of the lake and gently placed Salcens' body in the water. Almost instantly her body started healing, and was soon taken out of the water and placed on the grass.

Inuyasha arrived soon after Salcen was placed on the grass. He watched Cayren as she put her hands above her sisters' body and started dry her off.

“Are you drying her off?” He asked, confused.

“Yes.” She replied as she stood up. “She'll be all right now. She did inherit mom's power to heal when placed in water.” She said and smiled weakly, her eyes slowly closing. “She...may…be…weak though.” She finished as she collapsed.

“Cayren!” he said and caught her. A worried expression was across his face as he turned around with her in his arms to find Kagome and the others arriving.

“Inuyasha! Are they all right?!” Kagome asked as she ran over to them.

He nodded in response. “Let's set up camp for the night. It's been a long day.”
