Chapter 2

"Kagome stop, what's wrong!?" Sango questioned from the sidelines.

"I smell Naraku guys, get ready for a fight" Inuyasha warned his friends, but he was confused. `Is Kagome under a spell? Why is she attacking me? Naraku has to have her under some sort of a spell, or else she wouldn't be doing this' thought Inuyasha. "Miroku can you or Kaede sense a spell around here?" he said as he blocked one of Kagome's blows ` god I don't know how long I can go on without hurting Kagome on accident'.

"I don't sense anything," Miroku yelled over the clashing swords.

Kaede walked out of the hut "Sango, why are Inuyasha and Kagome fighting?" `Wait there's something different about Kagome's aura, I think it missing something'

"We don't know Kaede but Inuyasha said he sensed Naraku" replied Sango, now in her demon slayer uniform, anger evident on her face `I'm ready for you Naraku'.

Miroku turned his face away from the battle between his friends "Lady Kaede I think it would be wise if you and the other villagers leave for today," he put his staff in a ready position and continued "this could turn into a big battle".

"Yes, I agree ye be careful child. I will lead the villagers to safety." Miroku nodded at the old woman's words. `Kagome and Inuyasha will work this out' were the woman's thoughts before she went to alert the villagers that they were to go.

You could see in the background all the villagers leaving the village, leaded by Kaede. The wind was picking up and clouds were beginning to move in. Shippo had been on Sango's shoulder but had been forced to move to the fire cat demon for protection, although right now she was in her kitten form.

Kagome's blade clashed with Inuyasha's once then twice over and over, just attacking. He was using his regular sword that he uses for her training because he was afraid what an encounter with his Tetsusaiga. She already had a few cuts on her but nothing serious.

`You would think that Kagome would put up a better fight than this, I thought she had more skill' at Inuyasha's thought Kagome shouted "Inuyasha aghhhh I hate you!" At those words he paused `she hates me?' Kagome took this momentary lapse in concentration to get a good attack in. She lunged her sword into Inuyasha's shoulder. "Aggg…no, no you don't know what your doing, it's just rage, one of Naraku's tricks to get to me," he paused "Kagome he's using you!, put your anger aside!" Kagome tried attacking his other arm but he dodged and she fell on her side but recovered quickly and attacked again.

`She's just in a blind rage, she's not fighting at her full potential, I wonder if it's the anger that's holding her back from attacking accurately, like unfocused or if its something else… but she could get hurt either way' "Inuyasha you have to nock her out!" Miroku screamed it to be able to be heard over the loud clash of steel.

"What!?" he stopped and looked at Miroku like he had just stabbed Kagome in the back. But as a result of letting his guard down Kagome jabbed her sword in his stomach "The fights over here Inuyasha don't make me remind you!" screamed Kagome. "Darnit Kagome stop!, I'm not going to hurt you". The words didn't seem to faze her.

`No Kagome, why? Well if she won't talk to him hopefully she'll talk to me' "Kagome it's me, Sango, please stop attacking Inuyasha," said Sango pleadingly.

Kagome visibly paused "S-sango?" she stuttered her best friend's name.

"Yes, Kagome it's me, please stop attacking, let's talk".

"B-but," Naraku saw from his castle what was happening and frowned. He sent a whisper into her head `Kagome dear, don't you remember what he's done?' the voice echoed through her head driving back the good memories she was beginning to remember with Inuyasha. "no, NO!" she attacked Inuyasha with such force that she was able to make the Hankyu fall back a couple of steps.

Back at Naraku's castle:

"Kagura" Naraku called for his servant.

"Yes?"

"Take Kohaku and my insects and go assist Kagome"

"Kagome?"

"Yes, just take care of her friends and leave Inuyasha to her."

"ok"

"oh and Kagura"

"Yes?"

Take this spell with you and use it once you get there." Naraku tossed a scrol, which she easily cached.

"What's is do?" she asked curiously.

" That is none of your concern" and with that she left to carry out her orders. "Now Kagome, let the real games begin" he sat back smiling to himself.
