Kagome's back stiffened when she got the eerie feeling that someone was watching her from behind. She was in front of the hot springs, not completely naked, but not decently dressed. She had decided to freshen up a bit before coming to bed.

It was just then growing dark and the stars were starting to come out. In slow, cautious motions she pulled a towel up over her front and wrapped it around her back. She pretended as if she didn't sense something there. She shoved he feet into her flip flops and stood up, turning around.

Kagome was greeted by a handsome hanyou. Tall and silver-haired; with eyes like backlit amber. He was dressed in red and he had cute little dog ears on the crown of his head. He was InuYasha. Part Inu-Youkai and part human. He was her friend, protector, and secret love. And just now, he was speaking…

"Kagome, before you--" He was holding his hands up and trying to speak so as not to further upset her. He was interrupted with a sharp, "INUYASHA! SIT, BOY!"

The poor hanyou fell face first into the dirt with a thud. Not that Kagome minded the fact that he was interested in seeing her naked, but she had to make him believe that it infuriated her, as it should have.

"Hentai! What were you thinking?" she gasped holding her towel up and sounding shocked.

The dog demon pulled his face from the ground. "Oi, wench! I wasn't peeking or anything. Kaede-babaa sent me after you with this stuff." He hefted a small vial full of heady scented, purple-ish red liquid and she caught it in midair.

"She also said to give you this…" He handed her a folded sheet of parchment.

"Oh. Gomen, InuYasha. I saw you there and "hentai" was the first thing that come to mind," she said. That is, after throwing you down in the patch of moss over there and… KAGOME snap out of it. He loves Kikyou. You're setting yourself up for disappointment, you know. She shook her head.

"Damn, what is it with women and all this sweet smelling stuff?" InuYasha sniffed the bottle now in Kagome's hand. "What is it anyway?"

"What you didn't read the note?" Kagome said without thinking. InuYasha shot her a `that isn't funny, wench' look and she blushed.

"Gomen. I forgot. If you'd like, I can teach you to read…"

"What really?" InuYasha actually looked excited for a moment, but that was replaced by a look of apathy. "I mean, maybe sometime. You know, if I have time."

"Tonight it is…" Kagome said and the hanyou gave her a shy look. "Now shoo so I can finish bathing."

InuYasha mumbled something incoherent and left. Kagome unfolded the note. And blushed. She sent a silent thank you to the gods that InuYasha couldn't read.
