Well. Here I sit. Munching on slightly cold chicken pot pie and sipping a diet soda. I'm bored and I thought it was about time I get my otherwise useless arse going and write another chapter.

InuYasha: Damn right you don't, wench.

**smack** Me: Bad doggie.

Chapter Six: Love admitted.

"Hurt you?" InuYasha's voice broke. "Why? What did I do this time? Please Kagome, tell me."

"Why should I have to tell you anything. In fact… why don't I just go home? You can have Kikyo find the shards for you and that way she'll be around for you to `protect'. Then, I can forget all about this stupid feudal age and the mean, heartless, BASTARD of a hanyou that I happened to have set free!"

Kagome never swears, he thought. InuYasha broke down crying. He fell down to his knees and hid his face in his hands. Kami! What am I doing? I can't cry in front of HER! But he was.

Kagome looked up. He's crying?

"Kagome, I am so sorry," he said between fits of tears. "I'm sorry I did something horrible enough to make you hate me. But please. Kagome, please, don't leave. At least not yet."

"Why?" She huffed.

"Because I need you."

"No, you have Kikyo. Why would you want her copy?"

"Kagome! She doesn't have a copy! You are Kagome and she WAS Kikyo. You were never the same person."

"Oh, really?" She was now crying as well. "Then what was all that in the forest about? I was worried about you. I followed you."

"What?"

"Yeah. And don't give me that denial CRAP."

"What did you hear… ?"

Kagome scrunched her face with a new set of sobs. InuYasha was fighting the impulse to reach out to her and kiss her pain away.

"I heard her tell you that you would always protect her. And then I saw your face when she said my name."

A tiny shred of hope rose in InuYasha's heart. "You couldn't have stayed very long. I told Kikyo that I didn't love her. That I realized I never had."

Kagome's jaw dropped. InuYasha shuddered and took her shoulders in his hands.

"I love you, Kagome. I realize that I always have. You are my sunshine. You are my calm after the storm. You're the other half of my soul. The patient, beautiful, caring, calming, energetic half of my soul." He smirked with a touch of hesitant laughter in his beautiful amber eyes.

"I don't believe you," she said turning away from his gaze. "Why should I?"

"I'm afraid it's true, Kagome," a new but familiar voice said. "I'm going to do now what I should have done the first time I saw you." Kikyo nocked an arrow and aimed for Kagome's heart.

InuYasha: WHAT??! You can't just leave it there. Do I save her?

Me: You know I love you, InuYasha, but you'll just have to wait like everyone else.

InuYasha: No. Tell me.

Me: No.

InuYasha: ::growl::

Me: ::lower, more menacing growl with an evil look in my eyes::

InuYasha: Fine. Bitch.

Me: Yep. Wish I could call you a son of a bitch, but you mother was HUMAN! Ha! I'll settle for you being the bitch of the family instead.

InuYasha: WHAT??!! ::lunge for Kate::

Me: Ha! Doan make me LAUGH!

InuYasha sitting down: Oh, hell.

Me: Yep. Wait for the next fic, Bitch.

InuYasha: ::mumbles::
