InuYasha: Oh, no. Not another one? The series isn't ending when I die?

Me: Pah! This fic doesn't totally revolve around you, you arrogant half-breed.

InuYasha: If you love me so much, why are you always insulting me?

Me: Because this is my world and you'll do whatever I say. Meaning I can insult you all I like and at the end of the day… you come back for more just because it's ME doing the insulting. See what I mean?

InuYasha: Keh! Bitch!

Me: ::Glare::

InuYasha: I love you Katie. You're not fat at all in that shirt. Or in any. You're so brilliant… your geometry teacher is the stupid one…

Me: ****LAUGH*** I told you so!

InuYasha: Dammit!

Kagome's Hidden Power: Chapter Eight

Kagome had been bent over InuYasha's body for hours now. He was already cold and she had lost herself in grief. She cried and cried. She refused to stop. She'd not eat, nor come inside to sleep. Nothing mattered anymore. InuYasha was gone, and he took her happiness with him. That night at midnight, her tears ran out. She could cry no longer but her body was still wracked with sobs and shudders. `I love you InuYasha.' As that thought left her, her last crystalline tear fell and seeped directly into the hanyou's wound.

Kagome had no idea of her power. She had no training. She had no idea that one of her powers was the power of the Heart. A miko with this gift cries tears with healing power. She had more power than any other priestess before or since. He grief and love added to her power and her tears brought InuYasha back from the very depths of hell.

His eyes unglazed, his body grew warm. His heart started to pump and he began to breathe. "Ka..Kagome?" He whispered, seeing her crying. "Kagome. I heard you. I heard you call to me. Your voice lead me back. It was dark… so dark. I couldn't see."

"InuYasha?" Kaome's eyes were wide and disbelieving. "You're alive!" She threw her arms around his neck. "Wait!" She tugged the fabric off of his shoulder to look at his wounds. "You're perfectly healed! How do you feel?"

"A little shaky, but fine. Kagome, you saved me. You brought me back to life. I was lost… but then I heard your voice. You said, `InuYasha, I love you.' I followed that sound and it lead me back. Kagome." He reached for her hand. "I love you too."

He reached up and put his arms around her neck, pulling her closer. His lips met hers and she responded. Their kiss started fresh and tender but became the swift, passionate kiss they had both been craving but neither knew.

"Kagome. Kikyo is gone. Our only threat is Naraku, and with my strength and the power you've shown, I know we can beat him. I know we'll survive this quest, Kagome. I have faith in you and the rest of my friends. So there's no reason to wait, right? I mean, what I'm trying to say is," he faltered, loosing his nerve.

"What ARE you trying to say, InuYasha?"

"Kagome," he said with a deep breath. "Will you become my mate and bear my pups? It would honor me greatly to have such a strong, beautiful miko at my side for all of my life."

Kagome pounced on him and kissed him. Whimpering with happiness, she laid down beside him and cuddled up close.

"Can I take that as a yes?" He nibbled on her ear.

"Yes, but not tonight. We need to have a ceremony and I need to tell my mother."

"Must I wait that long?" he whined.

"Afraid so. Am I not worth the wait, Lord InuYasha?"

"No, you're worth it. I'd wait eternities for you." He kissed the back of her neck. "Now, sleep Kagome."

"You too, my love," she replied.

"No thanks, I've had all the sleep I can take for now."

So they both stayed up and watched the sun rise. Kagome wasn't a bit tired.
