Today was a great day and a bad one as well, everything went right since the moment I opened my eyes. As soon as I was up, I ran towards the bathroom and waited for the normal morning sickness that would hit me after I got up but I waited for a few minutes with my head in front of the toilet and… nothing, I just felt really hungry. I felt in my belly a few light swirls and I thought it might be the baby who was hungry. I was right and immediately ran downstairs to grab some food. I had chocolate syrup with bananas and orange juice and went again to the bathroom incase I might feel like return it but again nothing. I felt great, morning sickness sucked and this time I would be able to catch the bus instead of walking or asking Kikyo to drive to school. My sister was acting nicer to me by the time but sometimes, like when her PMS kicked in I just wanted to kill her. I looked through my closet and found my skinny jeans and my favorite white tank top, perfect for a day in which I felt so good and when I finally got them on I realized how bad this day was.
“Come on…” I chanted as I tried to pull up my pants, they were very tight around my legs and they were impossible to zip up.
I looked at my reflection and let out an involuntary gasp, I stared at myself in awed because I just couldn't believe what my eyes were projecting. I saw my once flat stomach now with a kind of developed bump; I lightly passed my hand over it, wondering when did it become big and why didn't I notice it. I sighed heavily and removed my skinny jeans which I would have changed anyways and took off my tank top, I looked for a baggy sweater and sweatpants which made the job to cover me up perfectly.
“Let's go, Naraku's picking me up and we can take you to school.” Kikyo said as she randomly came inside my room.
“I was thinking about taking the bus today, thanks anyways.” I said with my best smile, Kikyo shook her head.
“You're coming with me; I don't want to hear about how you threw up in the bus again.” I sighed.
“Fine,” I said through my teeth and grabbed my bag as I tried to look mad but Kikyo took it away from me. “I can do it myself, thank you.”
“You shouldn't carry stuff.” She said as she harshly pulled away my bag and placed it around her back. “It's bad for the baby, Naraku hates waiting… c'mon.”
I sighed heavily and followed Kikyo out of the door; I noticed my mom's car was gone so she had already left to work. I did my best to smile before I got inside Naraku's car; I didn't really like that guy because he gave me a weird vibe… maybe it was his tangled hair and his eye liner and the fact that he always looks at my sister like he wants to fuck her. He shot me a small smile before turning to Kikyo and half eating her face, she didn't mind it but prolonged the kiss and I was about to throw up in the back seat. Once they were done, Naraku turned to me.
“Hey Kaggy, how's it going?” he said as my sister cleaned her lips, disgusting.
“I think I'm going to be sick…” he laughed. “How's college?”
“Fantastic, I wish your sister moved in with me though… she's still not convinced.” Kikyo sighed.
“I have to think about it, okay?” she said and he nodded as he revved the engine.
“Of course.”
I listened to Naraku's heavy metal CD as he drove me to school, it was better than to listen to Kikyo talk to Naraku and hearing their occasional kissing noises. As soon as he stopped in front of school, I got out and waved them goodbye as I walked away, I don't think they saw me though because they were very busy pulling each other tongues out of their mouths. I went to my locker immediately and heard someone scoff at me; I turned around and found Sango staring at my clothes.
“What the hell is that?” she said pointing at me, I sighed and grabbed her by the arm.
“I have to show you something.” I half whispered as I pulled her with me to the bathroom, I made sure no one was inside before I pulled up my sweater; Sango let out a surprised gasp.
“Oh my… Kags,” She said as a smile curved her lips, she slowly moved her arm to my belly but stopped. “Can I?”
“Of course,” I smiled in assurance and she lightly placed her hand on my stomach.
“Wow,” she muttered as she rubbed my torso softly. “It feels so…”
“Weird?” I offered, she shook her head and scoffed with a smile.
“Warm.” Sango said and I felt a heavy pat from inside, she squealed happily. “A kick!”
“That hurt,” I complained and Sango laughed. “That never happened before.”
“Maybe it happens when a nice person comes around, unlike Kikyo.” I let out a giggle and heard the bell. “Let's go.”
I had to let go off Sango or better say she had to let go my belly because people might think it's weird for my friend to walk next to me with her hand on my torso. She walked with me to my English class and once I was inside I saw Inuyasha sitting in his place with his guitar, I looked at it curiously; I thought he always left it at home but apparently today he just felt like bringing it to school. As soon as he saw me, he kind of smiled and waved; I was too worried he might be checking my horrible outfit that I didn't bother to wave back; I just walked to my place and sat next to him.
“So… do you feel like listening to music today?” he asked as he strummed his guitar, I nodded. “Really?”
“Yeah, that day I was cranky… it's because of the preg…” Stupid Kagome! Don't ruin it! I laughed. “Prego sauce, I hate to eat that thing but it was the only thing my mom made for dinner that night,”
“I'll play for you a few songs, if you do something for me.” I rolled my eyes but smiled.
“Okay, I'm in for your games… what?” he smiled back.
“Have lunch with me, just you and me outside… and I'll play for you.” It was a tempting offer, I had to admit but I didn't want to risk my baby to exposure and I didn't want to risk myself to Sango's questions nor Hojo's.
“I'm kinda busy at lunch time… maybe some other time, later today perhaps?” I asked, still hopeful but he shook his head.
“I'm busy too,” Inuyasha said and I sighed, I didn't want him to think that I was rejecting him.
When I was about to say: “screw everyone, yes I'll have lunch with you” the teacher came in and class began. I barely got to talk to Inuyasha because my teacher had some other plans; he called me in front of the class to talk about the last book we read. I had to give him my point of view, the summary and author's background which left me with a dry mouth after so much talking. The class ended as I finished with everything the teacher had asked me and when I returned to my place, Inuyasha was gone. I picked up my stuff and walked to my next class. School went pretty much like that, boring class after another and placing Kikyo's annoying flyers around school… everything went like that. Finally, the most perfect moment in the entire day came… time to go home. Sango followed me home, she wanted to feel my belly as we went back home. We got inside the bus and the look I got from the people inside made me want to get out but instead I sat in the first seat I found.
“Let me touch it again,” Sango begged, I looked around and nodded. Her cold hand touched over my belly and immediately I felt another soft kick. “That's so cute, do it again.”
“I'm not doing it.” I assured her, she arched her brow.
“I was talking to your baby.” She whispered, I felt dumb for a second and felt the bus starting to move but immediately it stopped again.
“You're getting me tired, next time I'll just go faster.” The bus driver warned and Inuyasha came up with his guitar case.
“Sorry,” he apologized.
“Ooh, he or she is very excited to be with aunt Sango!” my friend said.
I felt my belly being hit lightly but very repeatedly, various times as my eyes were on Inuyasha. He carelessly glanced at me and shot me a smile; I smiled back and felt my cheeks burning and my stomach receiving soft blows from the inside very quickly. I took my eyes away from him; Sango eyed me curiously as she let a smile pronounce her lips.
“Were you thinking about Kouga?” I was taken by surprised with that question so I simply nodded and looked down at her hand; I gently pushed it away as I saw Inuyasha coming to seat in front of us.
“Hey,” he said as he pushed his long silvery hair behind his back; I waved and Sango waved.
“Hi… you're in my art class, right?” Sango asked Inuyasha, he nodded. “I loved that painting you did of that girl this week, you know the one that had everything in dark colors but she was in this bright red dress…what did you call it?”
“Oh, that was Stray… I'm glad you liked it.” He smiled and looked at me, “So… do you feel like listening to music this weekend?”
“Probably, why?” I asked, making my best to sound interested. Inuyasha flashed me his bright smile.
“I want to show you something, sort of a surprise… are you in?” I smiled and felt something hit me.
I was about to say yes, that I would be delighted to go but then a horrible smell came into my nose. It was like some rotten tomatoes left under the seat of the bus and I just couldn't hold it in any longer, I threw up again in the bus and felt Inuyasha tug my hair so I didn't get it dirty. Many passengers shrieked disgusted as they exited the bus, I finally felt everything was out and as I cleaned my mouth the bus driver came towards me and Inuyasha.
“You three, out and don't come back… EVER.” He warned, Inuyasha rolled his eyes and got my bag as he helped me get out of the bus.
“You can't talk like that to a pr…!” I shot Sango a glance and she changed her words. “To a probably very sick girl!”
“Well, she should learn how to either stay at home or take another bus!” the driver yelled furious.
“Relax man, she's just sick… how would you feel if I yelled at you while you're in bed with a stomachache?” Inuyasha asked, I could see his eyes were shooting a very furious look at the driver and he simply took a deep breath.
“Don't get on my bus again, please… you're always making me stop and you always throw up and you…” he looked at Sango. “Well, I don't have any excuse for you but if you're with these two just don't hop in.”
I felt everyone staring at me with hate as they waited for the driver to clean up my mess… again. I wanted to take off my baggy sweater but Inuyasha would see what I was hiding beneath it so I thought I should keep it. Sango handed me a bottle with water she kept in her bag and I cleaned it.
“Prego?” he asked and I panicked, I was about to deny it but he shrugged his shoulders when he didn't get an answer. “You know… the prego sauce?”
“Um… yeah.” I lied and let out a sigh of relieve from inside, he handed me my bag. “Thanks.”
“I have to go, I would join you to your house but… this is sort of important. I'll see you tomorrow, feel better.” Inuyasha said before walking away, Sango took my bag and carried it for me and we walked towards my house.
“I really like him… he's cute and very artistic, you like that kind of guys… don't you?” She asked and I nodded.
“Yeah, and he reads too… I mean, he really likes to read out of pleasure.” Sango smiled.
“Wasn't it just yesterday that you told me you wouldn't go out with him while you had `the fruit of your loins' in your, well… loins?” I laughed and rolled my eyes.
“I know but I just want to be his friend… even with all this happening to me, I really would like to keep him as a friend.” Sango nodded and we kept walking.

The rest of the afternoon was pretty calm; I didn't feel my baby kick except when I remembered Kouga or I thought about Inuyasha's surprise. I took a long shower to forget about all the bad things that had happened to me through the day like my unfortunate scene in the bus or the fact that I can no longer wear skinny jeans. I was happy for many things that day like the fact that I actually had the courage to accept Inuyasha's invitation and that my baby was kicking inside me, it reminded me that I was not alone in this situation… I would never be alone. I came out of my shower and got dressed into my pajamas, placing a blanket around my arms because I was too lazy to search for a sweater that actually fit me. I was just brushing my hair when I heard the doorbell.
“Kagome, could you please get that?” Kikyo asked, I rolled my eyes. “Please, it's important… I'll be downstairs in a second.”
“Fine!” I half yelled and made my way down, I carefully covered myself with the blanket before opening the door; I just blurted what I thought. “What are you doing here?”
“Kagome? So you are…?” Inuyasha said but I felt Kikyo lightly touching my shoulder.
“Hi, I'm Kikyo…” I looked back at Kikyo, her eyes were practically sparkling and her lips slowly curved into a smile. “You… you must be Inuyasha.”
“That's right,” he said.
Inuyasha may have not noticed it but I could clearly see Kikyo's reaction, the way she licked her lips, her curved sexy smile, the sparkling in the eyes… I haven't seen it in a long time since she hooked up with Naraku and…
NO WAY.
“Come in; feel free to take off your jacket.” Kikyo said as he came inside and shut the door aggressively; I knew exactly what she was trying.
She was going after Inuyasha.
