Kikyo always got what she wanted.
Once in 7th grade she had a B in French and she begged the teacher for an extra assignment, he refused so Kikyo went up online and searched for some French exercises for her to do. Her teacher was so impressed since she had done exercises for advanced learners, he was way too impressed that he even gave her an honorary diploma for her outstanding work; and of course, I guess it's obvious that she got her precious A+.
Kikyo always gets what she wants and… not that I care of something but, why him? I mean, she has her boyfriend and she's supposed to be happy and Naraku seems to really love her and she seems to feel the same way and… well, she has everything she wants.
So why is she still looking for more?
“So that means that x is three times y?” Inuyasha asked timidly and Kikyo half shrieked out of excitement.
“You're so intelligent; I don't even know why you're taking classes with me… although I can't say I'm not enjoying them.” Kikyo said, I could practically imagine her flashing at him her perfect smile.
Since I saw Inuyasha at my door, I locked myself in my room and tried not to pay attention at Kikyo and her incessant flirting. I was getting hungry but I didn't want to walk by Kikyo's room and see her all over Inuyasha so I grabbed a book and tried to read it but I wasn't able to concentrate.
“Well… my math teacher doesn't think the same way,” he let out a dry chuckle. “So… is your sister going to come out?”
“Kagome? Oh, she knows she can't interrupt me while I'm teaching so don't worry.” I couldn't believe Inuyasha was that kind of guys… that mother fu…
“Actually, I wanted to talk to her about something… I asked her out.” I smiled and covered my mouth to stop myself from squealing.
“Oh, you're going out with her even with the preg…?”
“Kikyo!” I yelled and I heard her grunt.
“I'll be right back.” I heard her storm into my room. “What? I'm working,”
“You have no right of telling other people things that don't concern you,” I reminded her, she scoffed at me.
“And what? You're going to show up with a huge belly someday and what are you going to tell him? I gained some weight?” I didn't say a word but she looked at me very pissed off. “You can't hide this for such a long time Kagome, you better get over this thing already… besides, you got in this mess by yourself and I shouldn't be protecting you… telling the truth is always the best way.”
“Then I'll tell him when we go out,” that made Kikyo stop and look back at me.
“You're not seriously considering that option.” As if! I can do whatever I want.
“Well for your information sis, he has been helping me around school for some time and I think I'll go out with him, it's something I've wanted to do for a few weeks now.” I wanted to hide my smile, Kikyo's face was a deep shade of red out of anger and because I didn't want to risk myself by exploding in giggles I simply nodded.
“Whatever,” she mumbled and went back to her work, I grabbed my book again and this time it was easier for me to read it because I knew Kikyo wasn't flirting with him anymore.

It was very early when I heard my cell phone ringing, I lazily answered it and I heard Sango begging me to go with her to the mall. I didn't want to go out, I was feeling very hungry and the idea of walking around the mall was making me tired already. But Sango wasn't quitting so I finally said yes and before I could give her any conditions she had already hung up. I changed my clothes into baggy jeans and a very lose shirt, I got on my favorite pair of flats and just as I was brushing my hair Sango came inside my room.
“How far are you?” She asked, I looked at my reflection and noticed that the bump in my stomach was pretty clear.
“Like four months now… nothing really fits me, can we go out some other day?” Sango sighed.
“Just change into something more comfortable, please Kags I've wanted you to meet Miroku for such a long time.” Miroku?
“Who?” I asked confused, she let out an annoyed grunt.
“My boyfriend… remember? I told you about him.” I nodded, I had only heard about myself for the last few weeks that I could barely remember anything concerning Sango.
“Yeah, sorry… it's just that…” Sango nodded and smiled apologetically.
“I understand, let's go.” She said as she grabbed my hand and pulled me out of my house.
I haven't been to the mall in ages, I just didn't like taking long walks anymore… not like I used to enjoy them. I loved to walk around shops, trying on new clothes and smelling perfume's scents but now… the clothes I like don't fit me anymore, walking makes me extremely tired and everything I smell either reeks rotten or I just can't stand it. Sango eagerly got out of the car and grabbed my hand as she pulled me with her to the cell phone company to meet her boyfriend. I looked at him and well, he was cute but he was nothing compared to other guys I've seen…
“Hey you,” Sango said and his eyes lightened up and he showed a bright wide smile.
“Hi,” he said before kissing her lips softly, they looked so happy together. “Who's this?”
“Oh, right… Miroku this is my best friend Kagome, Kags… Miroku.” Sango said in a cheerful voice, her boyfriend stretched his hand to me and I shook it lightly.
“I've heard so much about you, trust me I feel like I already know you.” He said to me with a small smile, I returned it… it wasn't every day that I met such a nice guy like him.
“I wish I could say the same but I have Sango listening to my troubles all day long… you're really nice.” Miroku chuckled and placed his arm around Sango's shoulders.
“You're so sweet,” he whispered softly and kissed her cheek softly, I let a saddened smile cross my lips and felt my eyes watering.
“So Kags…” Sango started but immediately stopped after looking at my expression. “Are you crying?”
“No,” I said but I could clearly feel the tears rolling down my cheeks.
“Oh, Kagome…” I shook my head as I tried my best not to let sobs out.
“I'll go get something to eat, you guys stay here… I need to be alone for a while.” My voice was clearly cracking as I tried to finish the sentence but I just couldn't stop crying.
Seeing them together reminded me of how I picture myself and Kouga by this year; holding hands as we walked down the aisle, kissing every time we disagreed about something stupid and just having him with me. Tears were still running down my face as I made my way through the mall to the food court, it made me feel embarrassed to see how people looked at me and it made cry even more to think about how foolish I must have looked. I sat alone in a table in the food court as I tried to calm down and once I felt myself okay, I bought myself a big chocolate cookie and a vanilla milkshake. I ate quietly and I remembered my last night with Kouga and how I got myself in this situation and tears were up in my face again.
“Are you okay?” someone asked and I nodded although my sobs and tears were clearly showing the contrary. “Kagome?”
“What?” I asked annoyed and cleaning my tears quickly, I looked back and saw Inuyasha behind. “Inuyasha?”
“What's wrong?” he asked as he sat next to me leaving his bag on another chair. “Did something bad happen?”
“No,” I said and drank some milkshake to calm myself down. “I was just feeling emotional, nothing's wrong I swear.”
“I know you're gonna kill me for asking this but… PMS?” rather the lack of it; I let a small smile curve my lips and I simply shook my head. “Then what's wrong?”
“I was just... thinking, about someone… I really don't want to talk about it.” I pleaded, I knew I was pathetic and that it was probably one of the worst excuses that I have ever used but he seemed to not notice or maybe he didn't care.
“It's okay, if you ever just want to let it out…” I could feel the warmth of his hands on top of mine and he gave them a gentle squeeze. “You can count on me.”
“Tha… aah!” I nearly screamed as I felt my baby kicking in, Inuyasha looked at me concerned and I remembered Kikyo's words.
You can't hide this for such a long time Kagome, you better get over this thing already
How can I tell this to someone I barely know? What would he think? Kikyo is right but… I just can't tell him, not now that we're getting along better. I tried to hide the pain and covered it with a smile.
“Are you okay?” he asked and I nodded.
“I just… I don't know, I felt a sudden pain in my knee.” Inuyasha sat on the floor and touched my knee gently, I had to smile. “I'm fine… I swear.”
“You're trying to give me a big scare, aren't you?” he said with a chuckle and I giggled. “You want to go home?”
“Um… I was actually…”
“Inuyasha!” I turned and saw Sango with her boyfriend holding hands; Miroku let her go and came closer to us. “It's good to see you out of your house and without Mia.”
“Mia?” I asked, surprisingly, I had a very angry tone in my voice.
“Don't get angry sweetheart, I'm talking about his guitar.” Inuyasha sort of blushed and nodded.
“It means `mine' in Spanish, I thought it was kinda cool… thanks idiot.” Miroku laughed and Sango smiled pleased.
“You're feeling better now Kags?” Sango asked with a smile, I would have blushed but I was too angry to do so, stupid hormones. “Okay, relax, you know…”
“I was going to take her home, if you don't mind…” Inuyasha interrupted and Sango looked at me with a smug smile.
“Of course not,”
“Hey guys,” Miroku said. “You want to come later tonight to our show?”
“Show?” I asked surprised and Inuyasha scratched the back of his neck.
“Well, it's not really a show… we're just going to play a few songs at this bar.” He explained and Sango squealed delighted.
“Yes! We'll go!” She smiled widely.
“But…”
“Kags, it's final.” I sighed heavily, when Sango made a decision I could never change her mind.
“Great, I'll save you girls a seat.” Miroku kissed Sango's lips and I felt tears again.
“Let's go.” I mumbled and Inuyasha followed me.
We walked in silence, I had nothing to say because if I did I would start drenching my clothes with my tears and I guess I was looking way too emotional like for Inuyasha to try anything. I decided to follow him rather than make him follow me since I didn't know where the car was, I found him to have a very nice red hot convertible. I didn't mean to sound materialist but… if he had this gorgeous car, why take the bus to school? He opened the door for me and I noticed his car had this deep stench of cigarette. I coughed a few times and he sighed.
“I'm sorry, my brother loves to smoke.” He said and started the engine.
“This is your brother's car?” I asked and he seemed confused.
“Sort of… we kinda share it but I only get to use it during the weekends, my brother goes to college and my parents didn't like the idea of getting him a dorm room so now he uses it every day.”
“Why didn't you tell me you had a band?” he sighed.
“You seem to not like music and… I like bands that people don't normally like and the music I play it's that way,”
“Which bands?”
“Um… The Black Keys? The Strokes? Queens of the Stone Age? Blur?” I didn't recognize half of those bands so he had a point… yet, I was in love with one of those.
“I love The Strokes, Julian Casablancas is a genius.” I said and he looked at me surprised.
“Are you serious?” I nodded. “How do you know about them?”
“Um… my… ex used to listen to them, I guess I just started liking them.” He half smiled.
“What's your favorite song? And you can't say Reptilia.” He warned and I laughed.
“Razorblade, I don't know… it's so… overwhelming, I love the lyrics.” He smiled and he pulled over, I hadn't realized we were already at home.
“You gotta listen to other of those bands; I'll lend you my CDs.” He offered, “I'll bring them tonight when I come to pick up your sister…” Say what?
“What?” I asked taken off guard.
“Kikyo asked me out, she called me today and asked if I wasn't busy… she didn't let me say no to her.” He tried to smile but it wasn't funny, at least not to me.
“Great, I hope you have a great time with her…” I could feel the tears running down my face so I ran to my house and slammed the door behind me once I was inside.
“Kagome, I'm sorry.” I heard him apologize but it didn't matter anymore…
Kikyo got what she wanted.
