Chapter One: How could you?
~Author's POV~
They knew something was wrong as soon as they entered the hut.
The thick smell of blood clung heavily to the air and a trail of it led
from the doorway to an opposite corner in the far side of said hut.
As their eyes adjust to the dim light that comes with the sun's partial disapperance,
they can make out a figure huddled in the corner, it's lack of clothing evident
and the way it's mumbling to itself suggests that it's hurt.
"No..stay away..don't come near me...I'll kill you...I'm not gonna let you
get me again...I hate you..."
Recognizing the voice immediately, the three people rush over to help.
~Sango's POV~
I rush over to my injured friend and grab her in a firm hug.
"Kagome! We thought you had gone back to your time, and who did this?" I ask her, pushing her
away from me to look at her. Blood frames her face, her nose looks broken and more blood is
soaked into her pretty black hair. It trails down her body, dried in some places and in one place in
particular that ticks me off, deep scratches cover her body along with bite marks on her chest and legs.
She shivers and looks up to me, her dark brown eyes, that once held warmth and kindness, now look
dead and lifeless. She speaks one word to me.
"Inuyasha." she tells me, not showing any signs of pain, just that same dead look, I hate it.
I hate him.
"He was supposed to take you back to the well, why'd he do this?"
"I don't know." she replies, her eyes still just as lifeless and her voice just above a whisper.
"Kagome." I say, pulling her into another hug.
~Miroku's POV~
I listen to the conversation between Kagome and Sango, trying to fight the urge to find Inuyasha
and kill him for doing this to our friend. What could he have been thinking?
I go over to Sango and rest a hand on her shoulder, knowing this isn't the time for sick thoughts.
"We should take her back to Kaede's, get her healed and cleaned up."
She looks at me with gratitude, helping Kagome to her feet and I help to get her onto Sango's back,
then we exit the hut, Shippo resting angrily on my shoulder and make our way as quickly as possible
back to Kaede's village.
~Shippo's POV~
*That stupid half-demon! He hurt Kagome, when I see him I'm gonna rip out his guts and shove them so far up his a--!"
"While we're glad you want to help Kagome, please keep those thoughts in your head." Miroku tells me, still walking.
"Oh, sorry Miroku."
*Curses, I didn't know I was saying that out loud, oh well back to my thoughts. I'm gonna shove them so far up
there that he won't be able to walk straight for the rest of his life!*
We arrived at Kaede's a few minutes later, luckily we weren't far from the village and she immediately started to tend to Kagome's wounds.
That's why I like Kaede, she didn't ask questions until after she finished her job.
Kagome had slipped into unconsciousness on the way here, and I hovered by her, making sure she had a cold compress to her head.
~Author's POV~
Little did the group know, that as they watched over their now feverish friend, two golden eyes watched them from the forest.
*Who could have done this to the miko? Could it have really been my stupid half brother?*

Anaki: Angsty enough for ya?
Sango: How could you do that to Kagome?!
Anaki: Just say it.
Sango: Fine, but this doesn't mean I forgive you.
Anaki: Whatever, go ahead.
Sango: Review please, even though she messed with Kagome.
