Chapter 1 reunion

 

“It can't be…Sesshomaru.”

“I'm glad you remember me, Ms Higurashi.” He smirked. Kagome looked him over. He was wearing a school uniform; in fact it was her school's uniform. His long silver hair shined and seemed to blind her when she looked at it. His eyes were the perfect blend of Gold and yellow.

“It's been a while Sesshomaru.”

“Indeed it has, come walk with me.” They walked to a rather large mansion after walking the hundred shrine steps; she was met with two huge cherry wood doors.

“This is the same shrine?”

“Yes father decided that our old house was way too small especially if he owns Tashio corp.”

“Oh.” He pushed opened the doors and kagome stepped into a huge living room…

“Please have a seat.” She sat on the small love seat in the corner and waited.

`a lot has changed since I left, I wonder if they are mad at me for leaving, after all they took me in and I shunned them and ran.'

“Although it's the same shrine they redeveloped the whole thing and maybe the memories as well…” she heard voices coming from the hall.

“That's a load of crap Sesshomaru! She can't be back!”

“Have a look little brother.” Kagome saw the head of Inuyasha and her eyes grew when he walked in. she was amazed at the beauty of him, his long yet slightly puffed silver hair fell at his shoulders and continued down his back, his eyes mirrored Sesshomaru's with even more intensity burning within the amber orbs. Not to mention the beautiful dog ears atop his head that twitched at the slightest irregular sound.

“Kagome is that you?” she nodded. She was completely stricken by the beauty of the brothers.

“It's been a while, where you been?”

“Around…making a living.”

“You know you can…” he stopped before he said the wrong thing.

`If I say it I might bring up the bad memories.' He turned on a heel and left the room to where sesshomaru was standing at the opening of the patio/garden.

“Where did you find her?”

“Apparently we attend the same school; I was walking when I saw her become surrounded by a group of men.” Kagome peered down the hall that seemed to be endless. The huge doors at the end cracked open and a person came from within it. She recognized it immediately. She hung her head low. She had no right to be in this house.

She bowed at the looming shadow and ran to the door. Sesshomaru and Inuyasha followed. She pulled at the front door until she stopped.

“Open the door Inuyasha…I have to go.” She looked back and found the figure staring at her. She jumped back.

“Kagome you shouldn't run, you have no reason to.” The face of her fears smiled and held his hand out.

“You are always welcome.” She looked at the hand. She made an attempt to place her hand in his but snatched it back.

“I can't! After what I done to this family I can never come back! I've caused you enough pain…I shouldn't be here.” She turned to the door and with all her might she opened it and ran.

“Sesshomaru go after her, make sure she's alright.” He nodded.

 

Monday 6:29 p.m. sunset

 

Kagome walked along the side walk with her back pack in front of her, her short uniform skirt and full curves didn't stop the thugs around her to stop staring. She picked up the paste towards her small apartment just a few blocks from the school.

`Why did I go in the first place?'

`Because you wanted to see them again…admit it you wanted to see the brothers and him…'

`I know but I've caused enough pain for now, I think I should stay away from them, this is when the pain in my chest comes.'

She clutched her heart with her right hand. She walked into a hard chest but reflexes caught her shoulders and held her steady she looked up into amber golden eyes that sparkled in the sunset. His silver hair framed his face and some dangled over his shoulders. In kagome's eyes she saw him as a god. The blue crescent moon in his forehead made him even more desirable. His lean muscles ached to be touched; she looked him over with tears in her eyes.

“I'm so sorry.” Sesshomaru saw the hurt and sorrow in her eyes and it made him cringe.

`A woman shouldn't be in this state, demon or not, she has no reason to morn like so.'

“Kagome?”

“Why did you follow me?”

“Simply to talk.”

 

Monday 7:30 p.m. dark

 

She sipped her tea. She dare not look at him. Sesshomaru looked around her small apartment. Although it was very clean he tarnished the size and stability.

“Kagome we've come to a decision...” He watched cautiously as the cup of tea was forcefully slammed onto the table and kagome grabbed her heart.

“It hurts…why does this pain exist?”

`She is in pain because she is alone, this sesshomaru knows this.'

“You should stay at the manor with us.” Her eyes widened.

 

Monday 9:15 p.m. dark (Tashio manor)

 

Kagome was placed in a night gown by a servant and put to bed. She would wake in the morning with a new life.

 

Monday 9:18p.m. Dark (Tashio manor)

 

 

Sesshomaru walked to his father's chamber and slightly opened the door.

“Is she ok?”

“Yes father, apparently she suffered a minor shock. It's not that serious, she should be fine in the morning.”

“Very well, I need you to do a favor…”

“What is it?'

“Protect her.” He walked out the room.

`This Sesshomaru…protect a nigen?'

`She's different and you know that.'

`I know but…'

`So what if she's human, that's never, stopped you in the past.'

He stopped the mental conversation when the door to kagome's room came open. And she stepped out. Her eyes filled with hurt.

“Why am I here?'

“Because you belong here.”

“No I don't I've brought shame to this family.”

“No you've brought happiness, and when you left you took it with you.”

“I just don't fit in.”

“Do you not see Touga breaking his neck to make you stay and be happy?!” his sudden change of voice from soft to slightly angered made her quiver.

“At least stay the night and tomorrow when you return to school you can return to you're small cube you call a home.” He turned and walked away, leaving her in the middle of the hall. She went back into her room.

“I guess I can stay the night and make my decision in the morning.” She plopped on her bed and drifted to sleep.

 

Tuesday 7:00 a.m. (Tashio manor)

 

Kagome was waiting at the front door. A few minutes later Sesshomaru emerged from the manor.

“Why are you waiting?'

“I'm waiting for you, we go to the same school, why not walk together?” they walked side by side without saying a word to each other.

She looked at him, his knee length silver hair trailed behind him.

`I wonder if I upset him yesterday?' suddenly he stopped.

“What is it?” a young man approached them and stopped in front of Sesshomaru, he wore the same uniform and had about the same length of hair but it was thrown across his shoulders in a jet black braid.

“Hey, who the hot chick you got there?”

“Bankotsu, what a surprise.” He walked aside of kagome. He looked her up and down.

“Kagome!” all three turned around. Sango was running to catch up. When she saw who she was walking with, she began to aw.

“Kagome do you know who they are?!”

“Yea I do.”

“Oh well I have a club meeting, I'm joining the tennis club what to join with me?”

“Um…well”

“Come on please?”

“Ok fine I'll join with you.” She jumped up.

“Alright! Lets go before were late!” she grabbed her wrist and started running.

“Later sesshomaru!” kagome yelled from about fifty feet in front of him.

“Say Sesshomaru, who was that? And how did you find her? I've never seen a girl look that good before in my life!”

“I've know her since we were kids, but something happened when we were younger and she ran away.”

“You're saying she lives with you?!”

“Yes, now she does. It's been five years since she ran away.”

“Wow and she survived? The amount of demons has grown, back then we didn't have to worry.”

“Yes but you also realize she's no ordinary nigen, she's a miko.”

“Yes her aura is very powerful bit lies dormant.”

“And you know this how?”

“The sent of a nigen can tell you everything you need to know.”
