“And I present to you…the graduating class of 2005!!!”

 

The crowd of excited parents stood up, cheering their all grown up children as they jumped up and threw those ridiculous hats in the air. Everyone was screaming and running around, except for one person, standing in the front row. Her blue gown was distinguishably different from the others because of the silver sash around it, telling the world that this girl was the valedictorian. However, the class valedictorian was deep in thought rather than running around, celebrating the end of her high school life.

 

“KAGOME! KAGOME WE DID IT!!!” a chorus of voices called from the crowd

The girl with the silver sash turned, her black hair blowing loosely in the wind, and she was soon knocked over with the wind being blown out of her.

 

“KAGOOOME WE DON'T HAVE TO GO HERE ANYMOOOOORE ITS OOOOOOVER!!!!!!!!!!” screamed the two blue-clad girls as they suffocated poor Kagome.

 

“Rin…Sango…chill out we still have college, remember?” wheezed the poor girl. She was slowly losing the feeling in her legs.

 

“But Kagoooome…high school is over! This is awesome! We get to be COLLEGE GIRLS!!!” squealed Sango, her chocolate-colored eyes glistening with happiness.

 

“And going to college meeeeans…BOYS!!!” screamed Rin right into Kagome's ear.

 

“Shut up Rin you know we both have boyfriends”, frowned Sango.

 

“Well yeah, but…still…”

 

Kagome had grown silent as all of this was going on. Her grey eyes looking at them but not really seeing them. She was deep in thought again.

 

You've been going out with Kouga for two years, Kagome. Just tell him the truth. Tell him that you love him. How hard can it be? He has to love you back…

 

“Speaking of boyfriends, Kagome…” said Rin, startling Kagome out of her thoughts, “here comes yours…”

 

Kagome looked up from the ground as Rin and Sango clamored to get off of her. She saw her boyfriend walking through the sea of blue, his icy blue eyes staring at her with slight confusion.

 

“Kagome, get up off of the floor.” He said.

 

Kagome hurried to stand up, a blush staining her cheeks. “Sorry, Kouga.”

 

Kouga sighed. “Kagome, you know I don't like to be embarrassed. And it's embarrassing to see my eighteen-year-old girlfriend act like a little girl.”

 

Kagome looked at the floor, ashamed of herself. Rin and Sango quietly exchanged looks. They had tried to talk to Kagome about this jackass for a long time now, but whatever they said she just told them that she didn't mind. And quite frankly, they were getting sick of the way Kouga treated their friend.

 

“Whatever…let's just go.” Said Kouga in frustration.

 

Kagome nodded and followed him, silently waving goodbye to her friends. Then it hit her: this was the perfect opportunity to tell him…

 

Kagome reached out and grabbed Kouga's hand. “Kouga…I have something I need to tell you.”

 

“Well what is it, we don't have all day.”

 

Kagome grew silent for a moment, and then looked up into his eyes.

 

“I love you.”
