*~*~*~*~*

He had seen. He watched the whole time as that beautiful girl confessed her love to that jackass. That guy didn't deserve her.

I deserve her…His eyes opened wide. Push that thought from your head, dude…

He saw that bastard looking around at the crowd, and finally their eyes met. He gave the man the worst glare that he could possibly manage. And he was good at glaring. He had had practice.

InuYasha…he mentally scolded himself Why are you doing this, dumbass? Its none of your business…

But something about that girl was special. Maybe it was the way her long black hair shone, or maybe it was her body. He didn't know…but what he did know was that he needed to see her eyes. His location was bad. He needed to see her…

Amazingly, InuYasha was lucky. He watched as the man ran away, and then he saw the girl turn around and run towards the crowd. Towards him…and into him.

“S…sorry…” she mumbled

InuYasha was startled. Her voice was beautiful…and then she looked at him. Grey. Her eyes were grey. Grey and hurt…grey like a cloudy day. Something inside of him panged. This girl…she was perfect.

Her grey eyes grew foggy as she looked at his hair, and then they closed as she collapsed. Quickly he reached out and caught her, and pulled the girl to his chest bridal-style.

Why do you care about this girl. Why…

He looked down at her tearstained face. There was something about her…

Slowly, InuYasha snapped out of it and realized that people were staring at him and the girl. He glared at them all, and then carried the girl away from the crowd. He strode across the grassy field that the graduation itself was on, and walked over to the front of the school, sitting down with the girl on his lap on one of the benches in the school's garden, away from everyone else. He smoothed the hair of her face, and then sat and waited…for her to wake up.
