Introducing...

Hello everyone, MistressKagome here with "Love Thy Husband". For those fans who were expecting chapter five of the fic that had been published in late 2005, sorry to disappoint but this will be different. Let me explain; I was sitting there one day, writing happily on my laptop, and I went to save my fiction to a floppy disk to transfer the information onto my desktop computer, when all the sudden, the power cord to my laptop came out of my laptop. Needless to say the cat that ran across my lap still hasn't come out from under the bed. I rebooted my laptop, and pulled the file back up, only to find EVERYTHING ERASED from the file. Well, I was PISSED, naturally...

I'm sorry, but the 137 pages (seven chapters) are all gone. And frankly, I'd rather rewrite the whole thing a different way than to try an rewrite 137 pages of fiction. Forgive me, please, if the first few chapters are a little low on details. The first few chapters will probably go by fast, and be a little boring even. But I have lots and lots and lots of stuff planned.

Full Summary; Demons exist at an average of one full blooded youkai to every hundred or so humans. Half breeds are four times as more rare. Arranged marriages are more common than not. And Kagome has never met the man that her Father betrothed her to so many years ago. When one day, there comes a knock at the front door, and Kagome opens the door to a unfamiliar face. Who was he? What was he? And would he let her touch his ears?

"Kagome?" he asked.

"Yes?" she said tying her apron in place, as she was about to finish dinner.

"Hi, um. I'm Inuyasha, your fiance." he said removing his sunglasses to reveal beautiful, golden brown eyes.

Chapter I - "A Good Start"

Today would be a good day, Ms. Higurashi could tell it would be a good day. Today would be a lucky day. She was standing in the line at the grocery store when she felt the little phone on her hip begin to vibrate. She took it off her hip and smiled at the little screen on top. She opened the phone and put it to her ear. "Hello?" she said happily as the young teenage boy began to ring up her items. "Oh yes, we're still on for tonight. Dinner will be ready around six." she listened for a moment. "Uh, no, she doesn't know. She knows we have guests but I haven't told her who yet. I thought I'd surprise her." she said happily, taking her money out of her wallet to pay for her food.

"Of course I will, don't worry, she won't freak out. And Sota is going to be there, so you can meet him as well." she said, she nodded a little to the person on the phone as the boy began putting her groceries in bags. "Oh, oh yes, she is. She'll be there for another half hour, I'm going to pick her up right now." she said. After a minutes or two she tilted her head. "Okay, okay I can do that, it'll be fine. Just make sure you get there by six."

"Alright, I'm looking forward to seeing you. Sayonara." she said hanging up the phone. "Oh, my apologies." she said to the boy who had been waiting on her. She took her groceries and headed out of the store. She got to her car and then pulled out of the parking lot to go pick up Sota. Tonight would go one of three ways. A; it would go smoothly without any arguing, and everyone would be civil. B; Kagome would be extremely upset and would yell at everyone for existing. Or C; she would be so shocked that she would sit there and let Ms. Higurashi and Inuyasha do all the talking.

Kagome jumped high and slammed her fist into the white ball that was trying to invade her side of the court. The ball shot back and bounced off the floor several times before it hit the fence behind the area. Kagome put her hands on her hips and smiled. She loved volleyball. Her friends yayed and cheered around her.

"Well, Higurashi." said a voice from the sidelines. Coach Jana walked over and smiled. "If only you were still in school..." she pondered happily. Kagome had been the team captain her junior and senior year. Kagome shrugged. She liked to come by after school let out and practice with the team, she did it often. It kept her in shape, and it kept her busy too. She was allowed to shower and use the lock rooms, Coach Jana liked Kagome a lot. Once she had showered she walked out into the locker rooms where the other girls were.

"That him?" she asked sitting down and looking into another locker where a picture of a handsome young man was being taped.

The girl nodded. "I met him last weekend at my Father's dinner party. It seems that we'll be getting married this June, he says it's a lucky month for him." she explained.

Kagome nodded in understanding and then looked down. She was yet to meet her fiance. On one hand she couldn't wait to meet the man who's wife she would become, on the other hand, the thought scared her to death. Kagome dressed in a jean skort and a baby blue button up shirt. Once she put her hair up in a pony tail she picked up her things and headed outside to wait for her mom and Sota. She had to get home early, they were having a guest for dinner.

"Need a ride, sweetheart?" she heard a voice call. Kagome looked over to see a woman standing by a big, red, shiny, brand new Monte Carlo. Kagura was a close friend of Kagome's. She was picking up her sister from after school orchestra practice.

"No! Mom's coming!" she called back. Kagura nodded and got in her car. She drove through the parking lot and stopped by the sidewalk bench Kagome was on.

"You sure, Kagome? I could take you." she offered again. Kanna waved shyly from the passengers seat.

Kagome still refused, nicely. "No, but thanks. Call me tonight, okay?" she said. Kagura nodded, and then left out onto the street. Kagome wanted a car like that. She had her license, but no car. Her Mother didn't let her drive much, she was to paranoid that Kagome wouldn't pay enough attention, she was to worried that her daughter was going to die the same way that Mr. Higurashi did so many years ago. It didn't bother Kagome too much, if her Mother wanted to drive her everywhere, then whatever.

Once her Mother got there Kagome kicked Sota into the back seat and she sat down inside the car. The drive home was quiet, their Mother looked unnaturally happy about something, Kagome began to worry a little.

~~~ <.< ~~~
It didn't take long after they got home for Ms. Higurashi to get both kids busy, Sota cleaned, and Kagome began cooking. They were having Sesame Chicken, one of Kagome's favorites. At ten till six Ms. Higurashi kicked both kids out of the kitchen and told them to go get dressed and washed up for dinner.
Kagome went willingly, Sota on the other hand, protested that there was nothing wrong with his Motley Crude t-shirt and his baggy, stained jeans. Kagome laughed when she heard her brother saying "No... no no... Mom!" from the kitchen, then a moment later he was being chased out, their Mother slapping his behind with her slipper. Sota laughed and went into his room as Kagome went to hers.
She went to her closet and looked at her clothes. She didn't know who the guest was, or if he was bringing anyone. So she didn't know if she should go with the long dress with sleeves, or the short spaghetti strap one. She scanned her clothes several times before she took out a light brown skirt and a yellow blouse that had white sakura blossoms across it. Oh well, if there was any hot guys then she could just button it down a little. She got dressed quickly, and left her room to see Sota had put on one of his white dress shirts and an unstained pair of jeans. This was about as nice as you would get from the stubborn teenager.
Kagome walked over and began to fix his buttons, the top three were in the wrong hole. It was amazing how much Sota had grown over the years, he was now at least four inches taller than Kagome. She reached up and ruffled his hair some, then she combed it down with her fingers. He stood limply as she did this, knowing that with these two women, there would be no "I can do it myself." or "It's fine." it was "Shut up and let me fix you."
Kagome smiled and brushed Sota's shoulders of wrinkles before they both went downstairs. Ms. Higurashi was setting the table for four, which normally meant that whatever old fart that was coming wasn't bringing anyone else. Kagome walked over to the still cooking food and picked up a blue apron as their Mather went upstairs to change.
All three of them looked up as a knock came to the front door down the hall. Kagome went out and while trying to untangle the apron, made her way to the door. She slid it open, and smiled at the man in front of her. "Yes?" she asked, there was no way that this was the man, or youkai, that was coming for dinner. He was cute, way cute. He was wearing a nice pair of blue jeans and a white dress shirt with a blue blazer.
"Kagome?" he asked.
"Yes." she said tying her apron in place, as she was about to finish dinner.
"Hi, um, I'm Inuyasha, your fiance." he said removing his sunglasses to reveal beautiful, golden brown eyes.
Kagome just stared at him some, she shook her head a little and blinked. "Excuse me?" she asked.
"Ah! Inuyasha!" Kagome stepped to the side, confused, as her Mother went past and invited the mystery man inside. He slipped his shoes off and came in, passing Kagome when Ms. Higurashi asked him to please go into the kitchen. She pulled her daughter with her as they followed him. Sota had a strange look on his face too. "Sota, this is Inuyasha, your sister's fiance." she explained happily.
Kagome grabbed her Mother before she could say anything else and pulled her into the hall. "Mother!" she said in a rush whisper.
"What?" the woman asked.
"Who the hell is that and why didn't you tell me he was coming over!"
"Keep your voice down." Ms. Hagurashi warned. "He is your fiance, Inuyasha Soma. And he is a nice young man." she added.
"He's not human, did you notice?!" Kagome asked in a worried voice.
"Well, you see I asked him about that and he said he was only half youkai. Besides, you can't tell me you don't think he's cute. If I was young enough I'd be throwing myself at him." she admitted.
"That is beside the point!" Kagome snapped. "The fact that he's sexy doesn't change the fact that you didn't warn me!" she said.
"Well, oh well, he's here, you're here, get acquainted." she said shoving Kagome back into the kitchen. She looked at Inuyasha for a few moments, he was sitting at the table with his glasses in his hair, as though trying to cover his ears or something.
Kagome stood awkwardly, looking at him, not meaning to stare. Inuyasha looked away first, and then Ms. Higurashi gave her daughter a little push towards the stove. Kagome went to finish the dinner, watching Inuyasha out of the corner of her eyes. Sota went into the living room, and Ms. Higurashi went to get something from upstairs. This left Kagome alone with him. She kept her back to Inuyasha, it was more comfortable that way.
"You..." Inuyasha started, Kagome looked at him. "You, uh, like to cook?" he asked, obviously trying to make conversation. Kagome smiled and nodded some, putting the rest of the chicken on a red and white dish.
"Yah, um, my mom used to have to shove me out of the kitchen when I was young because I wanted to do everything, now she won't let me get away." she said scratching the back of her neck a little. She put the chicken on the table along with the vegetables and other meal items. She fixed four bowels of rice and put them on the table. Inuyasha's fingers brushed against hers when he took his, she pulled her hand away quickly and bowed her head.
She called her Mother and Sota back in and they both sat down. Kagome was left the seat right to Inuyasha's. She got a bottle of wine and poured both her and her Mother a glass. Inuyasha took half a glass, and she smacked Sota when he reached for the bottle. She took a Root Beer from the soda and gave him a wine glass for it.
Once they sat down Kagome suddenly didn't want to be anywhere near the food she had prepared. Sota dug in, Inuyasha began to eat quietly with Ms. Higurashi. Kagome picked up her rice so she wouldn't have to talk and she began to nibble it. After a few minutes, her Mother smiled and started a conversation.
"So, Inuyasha, what is it that you do again?" she asked.
Inuyasha swallowed and shrugged some. "A little of this, a little of that. Me and my brother are basically the eyes and ears when my Father isn't there. Sesshomaru's a doctor though, he splits his time between that and the company. I switch between working with both parents. Lately I've been with my Mom a lot. She just opened a jewelry line off her clothing line. It's called Silver Leaf. Have you heard of it?" he asked.
"Yes! Didn't that store just open downtown in the shopping district, where the old pharmacy used to be. They fixed it up all nice and everything." Ms. Higurashi said cheerfully. "Remember, Kagome? We drove by it on the opening day?" she asked, Kagome nodded.
"Yes, that's where I am a lot during the day if I'm not with my Father. Her clothing store is just two stores down." he said. Ms. Higurashi nodded smiling. "We're trying to see if we can switch places with the Abercrombie store, so we can just combine the stores." he explained.
"Well, your Mother must be a busy woman." she said.
"Not really, all she does is sit there and look pretty." he said smiling.
Kagome looked at him smile, he had sharp ivory fangs peeking out from behind his lips. She lowered her gaze again as he glanced towards her.
"What does your Father do?" Ms. Higurashi asked.
"Oh, a bit of everything. He's a lawyer, most of the time. Mainly criminal and marriage arrangements gone wrong. He leaves most human clients to me, especially when there's a youkai and a human going against each other. This way they can't say that I'm being partial to my own race. But um, my dad's company has a lot of branches. He has a funding department for schools. There's, the television department, for YTv of course. Um-" he was thinking what else to say when Kagome interrupted.
"YTv?" she asked.
He looked at her. "If you have cable, it's channel six." he explained.
"Oh, I never watch that channel." she said shrugged.
"I don't expect most humans to. It's Youkai Television, after all. It's mainly news around the world, but there are a few regular shows on everyday. A movie here or there." he explained. Kagome nodded and looked away again. "What do you like to watch?" Inuyasha asked, Kagome looked at him.
She shrugged. "I don't know, just... whatever's on." she said quietly.
Inuyasha nodded. "I'd rather go out then watch TV. Do you play any sports?" he asked.
"Volleyball, and softball, sometimes soccer." she said. "And you?"
"Oh, basketball, Jiro, but I like to swim the most. Do you like swimming?" he asked. Kagome nodded a little. "The hotel, where we'll be living for now, there's a smaller pool, outside, that's only eight feet deep, then there's am Olympic sized pool inside, in the basement." he explained.
Kagome nodded. "What's Jiro?" she asked.
"Oh, it's the fighting style most youkai use. It's too violent and unsafe for most humans to practice."
Inuyasha tried to think of more things to say, but the situation was awkward. Ever since he graduated high school he had been working with his father, arranging meetings between fiances who had never met. He didn't know it was so uncomfortable to be in the seat he had put so many others in in the past.
Kagome looked at him. "If you don't mind me asking... what are you?" she asked quietly.
Inuyasha looked at her, he smirked a little, most youkais had heard that question several times before. "I'm a hanyou. My Father is full Inu-youkai, my Mother is human." he explained calmly, softly.
"When do I meet them?" Kagome asked.
Inuyasha shrugged. "Right now their in Osaka, but they'll be back on Tuesday, I could ask if you could come over to their apartment on Wednesday." he offered. Kagome shrugged.
"Well I'd like to meet them." Ms. Higurashi said smiling. "I never met your parents, only my husband did. Well, and you." she said motioning to Kagome.
Kagome looked at her weird. "Um," Inuyasha said smiling. "It was, fifteen years ago, Kagome." he explained, Kagome nodded. "You know, I remember the night I met you for the first time, and I remember our trip to the zoo, but my father keeps telling me that he took us to go see Kari, but I cannot remember." he said.
"I don't remember you at all." Kagome said bluntly.
"Well you were only five. I was nine, so, I was probably retaining more." he said smiling a little.
Kagome shrugged.
"So you must be Sota." Inuyasha said changing the conversation to Sota, who was done with his meal and already playing with a piece of carrot on his chop sticks. Sota nodded. "What school do you go to?" Inuyasha asked.
"Manke High." he said quietly.
"Your, what, seventeen?"
"Sixteen." Sota said crossing his arms.
"You know my Mother went to Manke." he said.
"Cool." Sota said boredly.
The rest of dinner went quietly, all the questions asked were answered simply, with a yes, or a no. Kagome took up the dishes, telling Inuyasha he could sit back down when he went to help. She served the cake and then cut everyone a slice, Inuyasha was the only on to thank her.
When they were done Sota took up the dishes, and Ms. Higurashi turned back to Inuyasha. "Well, did you like dinner?" she asked.
"Yes, very much. I don't eat much Ouru food. I normally only eat Einre style." he explained.
"Huh?" Kagome said.
"Oh, Ouru food is human food. Normally most youkai only eat meat. Einre style is when you cook it half way, but you make it taste raw and fresh. My Mother cooks Ouru, but I rarely eat over at their house." he explained. "Your food was very good though, what was it again?"
"Sesame chicken with mixed vegetables and crab Rangoon." she explained.
"Thank you for dinner." he said, Kagome nodded.
"Kagome I'll clean up, why don't you take Inuyahsa outside to see the Sacred Tree?" Ms. Higurashi said standing. Kagome gave her Mother and evil look. "Do it." Ms. Higurashi said in a hiss.
Kagome stood and Inuyasha followed. Her Mother only wanted them to be alone for a little while. They slipped their shoes on going outside and Kagome led him around the house and towards the courtyard. Kagome kept her head down, but Inuyasha looked glad to be out of the house. He leaned over. "Think this has anything to do with a tree?" he asked.
She shook her head. "No, she just wants us to know each other." she explained quietly.
"I really don't like dealing with parents other than my own." he explained, Kagome nodded, looking away. "Look, I wanted to talk to you in private anyways." he admitted, Kagome let him sit down on the bench under the sacred tree. She sat down, keeping her gaze low. "I know this is hard on you, Kagome." he began slowly.
"I just want you to know that, your not alone in this, okay? I'm going to be your husband soon, so if there's anything you need, or something you want to talk about, don't be afraid to tell, before and after we're married." he explained. "I know you probably don't want to get married, but you just need to know that I didn't want it in my schedule either. We're both being forced into this, you know?" he asked.
Kagome looked at him and nodded. "I know." she whispered. "It's just... I guess I was just pretending that I'd wake up one day, and it'd all be gone." she said with a slight laugh. "That you'd be gone." she said shrugging.
"I know." he said. "But we're just gonna have to make the best outta this, kay? I'm already having a house built for us, and it'll be finished in a month or so. It'll be big. I may not look it but I do have money. So, you'll never need anything." he said. "I'll take care of you, okay?" he said, Kagome looked at him.
"I can take care of my self." she said quietly.
"I know, but it'll be my job, to make sure that you're... that you're taken care of." he said at a loss for other words. He smiled a little and put his hand up on Kagome's cheek. "I work with arranged marriages gone bad all the time, I want us to work out." he said, Kagome believed him. "Here, I have something for you." he said taking his wallet out of his back pocket.
"Inuyasha I don't need any money-" she stopped when he didn't pull out money, but a picture from the little clear plastic slit. He help it to her. It looked a bit wore down around the edges, but it was still crystal clear. It was a picture of two little kids in front of a brick building that had Herpaterium spelled across it in shiny metal letters. They were sitting on a large iron stature of a turtle, the boy's arm around the girl. Kagome ran her finger down the side of the picture. The girl was wearing a little yellow dress and a pretty white sun hat, the same sun hat that now hung on Kagome's wall. Inuyasha looked happy, so did Kagome. They were holding hands with their free one, smiling at the camera.
Kagome remembered.
"Our first picture." he said. Kagome nodded. "My Father gave it to me on my sixteenth birthday, he said that he had lost it until then. I've always known about you, though, only these past year has he really cracked down on being a good husband, he lectures me every chance he gets." Inuyasha said with a chuckle. Kagome went to hand the picture back but he refused. "Keep it, I made a few copies." he said, Kagome nodded.
"About your Father..." Kagome asked quietly. "I was told that... that you were human." she said honestly. It was normally a big thing when a human got promised to a youkai, it just wasn't done. And to humans, Inuyasha wasn't half and half, he was a youkai, and it might be protested some.
Inuyasha nodded. "My parents thought it'd be best for me to marry a human, a youkai demoness wouldn't accept me as well, I wouldn't live up to expected standards." he said shrugging. "I mean, I've met several demonesses who wouldn't mind marrying me, but that's beside the point." he said.
"Look I'm sorry if this is a major shock for you. But you have to understand, being this was wasn't my choice." he explained softly. Kagome nodded, looking away again.
"It's okay, I mean. My history of dating consist of one guy, and he was... he was a youkai." she explained. Inuyasha smiled. So she didn't mind.
"Do know know many youkai? I mean, are you friends with a lot?"
"Um, only a couple. Kagura, her sister, my ex, maybe three more." she said. Inuyasha nodded.
Kagome jumped a little when she heard a pop and a sizzle like someone had just opened a shaken up soda can in front of her face. "Pick up the phone!" something yelled, and Inuyasha reached into his pocket to take out his vibrating phone. He rolled his eyes and opened it. He put it up to his face, with the top part a little away from him. Kagome wondered if he could hear clearly with his dog ears. She could hear a woman talking, but she couldn't make out words.
"No, mom, I can't right now." he said quickly. "Because I can't." he said sighing. He mouthed 'My Mother' to Kagome, who nodded. "No, you don't have to put him on the phone. But I can't come." he said again. "I'm busy." he said rolling his eyes. "It's Monday, where was I going on Monday?" he asked annoyed. "Exactly, bye." he said hanging up the phone. He looked at Kagome. "You know, I think that was the shortest phone conversation I've ever had with her. Oh, with the wife, bye." he joked. Kagome laughed with him.
"I'm actually," Kagome began. "I actually glad I met you, finally. I was afraid that you'd turn out to be one of those, fat, babied, mommas boys." she said truthfully.
"Mmm, Momma's boy, yes, babied, no, fat?" he said looking down and putting a hand on his stomach. "Judge it yourself." he said shrugging. Kagome laughed with him. They sat there for a few moments, just sitting and watching the sky.
"It's nice here." he said quietly. Kagome nodded in agreement. "I should be going, though." he said, Kagome looked at him. "It's getting late and the last thing I want is it to start storming while I'm still here." he said looking up at the sky. "Your Mother seems like the type to tell someone to sleep over just because it's raining."
"She is, but a storm? Look at that sky." she said looking from him to the sky.
"I don't look, I smell. And it smells like rain and lots of it." he said. Kagome rolled her eyes as they started walking back to the house.
He's not soo bad, Kagome pondered. He was fairly nice, and extremely sexy. Exxttrreeemmmlllyyyyy sexy. Kagome was lucky to have him.
Kagome skipped the house and they started walking to his car that was parked down in front of the many stone steps that led up to her house the easy way. Kagome stopped by the car and smiled a little. "Well, thank you for coming to Dinner." she said smiling.
"Thank you for cooking for me." he said. "I don't know if I should hug you, or..." he said awkwardly.
Kagome held her hand out and he smiled putting his hand to hers, they shook. Kagome went to pull away but he held her hand, turning it and bringing it up with both hands. He kissed the back of her hand and Kagome blushed deeply. This was new. He let go and turned to his car, opening the door. He looked at her again. "I'll call to arrange when you come to my parents' house." he said, Kagome nodded, and then waved when he got his car and drove off. She watched him go, then headed back up to the house.
She'd never wash that hand again...
Kagome went right upstairs and laid down on her bed, after a while she began to doze off, then she was shocked awake with a loud clap of thunder. She sat up and looked at her widow, it was nighttime now, almost nine, and rain was pouring down her window swiftly. So, he had been right.
~~~ >.> ~~~

The next day Kagome told her best friend, Miroku, all about Inuyasha, how handsome he was, and how nice he was. Kagome looked at her hand some, his lips had been soft, warm. She wanted to taste them...

Kagura took her out the next day, they were going for manicures. Kagome loved to be pampered, she had a typical demoness, only way more materialistic, and more demanding. She expected more out of her males than just about every other female Kagome had met. But, Kagura was a good friend, one of Kagome's and Miroku's best friends. While they were sitting there Kagome told all about Inuyasha. Kagura mentioned that she thought she knew him, but that was no surprise, Kagura 'knew' half the youkai population of Tokyo and the surrounding areas.

Kagome asked her friend what to expect from a youkai husband, and Kagura spent the rest of their manicure session and lunch telling her in detail. Kagome listened carefully, she wanted to please her husband, the more happy the husband, the more happy she would be. Kagome hoped that Inuyasha's sex drive wouldn't be as strong as most full blooded males, but Kagura told her not to get her hopes up.

After lunch Kagura dropped Kagome off at home and she ran inside just in time to hear the phone ringing annoyingly. She ran over and picked it up. "Hello?" she said pulling her socks off.

"Kagome?" came a deep voice.

"Yes?" she said still clueless to who it was.

"Ah, hello. This is Inuyasha's father. I thought I'd call myself to arrange dinner." he said. Kagome sat down.

"Oh, okay." she said. "Um, he told me that, um, I could, come over on Wednesday to meet you. But if that's inconvient-"

"No no, it's fine. My wife and I only just returned from our trip. Inuyasha and my wife had left out that he was meeting you. I would have liked to come along." he said.

Kagome shrugged. "If it had made it less awkward." she joked.

She heard him chuckle a little. "Well then, tomorrow, shall I have Inuyasha pick you up?" he asked.

"Um, yes, around, six?" she asked.

"That'd be fine. It was nice to talk to you, I look forward to tomorrow evening."

"Oh, me too."

"I must go now, my mate is unpacking our things, she's terribly clumsy and I think I just heard her fall." he explained softly.

Kagome laughed. "Bye."

"Goodbye." he said.

Inutaisho hung up the phone and headed back down the hall of their apartment. It was a spacious apartment, two bedrooms, two bathrooms. He walked back to the master bedroom and smiled putting his hands inside the pockets of his slacks. "Dear, would you like some help?" he asked softly. He looked down at the floor, where his mate laid boredly, her own underwear and undergarments strewn across the floor and her.

Iza shrugged, she took a deep breath and looked at him. "The zipper stuck... so... I pulled harder. The bad news is that now I have to refold it all... the good news is... I got it open." she explained. Iza was a happy, simple soul. Inutaisho smiled at her.

He helped her up, and she smiled wrapping her arms around his naked torso. "Mmm, screw the laundry..." she whispered, kissing his chest and smiling up at him. Inutaisho lifted her up on his hips and she pulled his muscle shirt up and off her body. She swung it around a few times, then slung it around his neck and brung him closer. Inutaisho carried her to the bed and laid her beneath him, kissing her softly. They had gone at it right when they got home that afternoon, but no matter, they could do it again.

Inutaisho's mouth was almost to her breasts when they heard the phone ring in the living room and then right next to the bed on the nightstand. Inutaisho tried his hardest to ignore it, putting his mouth on his mate's chest. Then they heard the answering machine pick up. "Hey, bitches, pick up the phone. I know your there, I'm not stupid. I know that my Mother doesn't leave a house when there's things to be unpacked. And I know that my Father doesn't let her unpack by herself because she liked to carry stuff that's too heavy for her and she falls-"

He snatched the phone up. "Boy, this had better be good." he growled at his son.

"Oh, so you were having sex?" Inuyasha asked.

"We were getting there." Inutaisho said pulling his mate back into bed when she tried to go get something to eat. She got up again and he frowned, pulling her back and silently telling her to stay there with his eyes. "What is it that you want?" he asked.

"Well, see, dad I'm starting to have these, urges..." Inuyasha joked.

"I'll call you back." Inutaisho said before hanging up and jumping after his woman who was trying to escape again. "Woman, what part of no leaving the bed while we're getting intimate do you not understand? It's quite a simple concept." he said pulling her back against him in the hallway.

"But I'm hungry..." she whined.

"Oh, well." he said bending over her some, sliding his hand up between her breasts, nuzzling his talons into the front of her bra. "If your in such need of nutrition, I've made a special protein snack, just for you." he said stroking his talons down her chin.

Izayoi giggled loudly and he carried her back to their bedroom. It was a standing rule with her mate that no one, not him, not her, left the bed once they began their mating.

Kagome was waiting in the kitchen alone the next day at five fifty three, she hadn't known what to wear. She had been out of it all day. She had woken up that morning, and stayed there for a long time, just staring at the ceiling. She'd been thinking about Inuyasha, about his parents, about the marriages that was soon to come. She woken up, and it had hit her like a bag of bricks.

This, was real.

It was happening. When her mother had told her about her betrothal, she had been in disbelief. She had still only half accepted it when she answered the door to Inuyasha. Yesterday it had sunk in a little, then today, it had hit her full force. She was going to be a wife. His wife. And he was a youkai. She didn't know youkai laws, youkai traditions, how much would be expected of her. Kagome was scared

She was scared of getting married. She was scared of meeting his parents. She was scared of them liking her. She was scared of Inuyasha. She was scared of it all. It frightened her so much that she had actually given her brother money to get the fuck out of the house for the rest of the day. Thankfully her Mother had to work. So she could sit in silence instead of listening to her Mother go over rules, manners, how to speak.

Kagome sipped her cold bottle of water and looked at the ticking clock on the wall. The tick sounded like it was attached to a boom box to Kagome. The house was so quiet, and she watched the clock tick loudly. She hadn't known what to wear, so she had closed her eyes and reached into her closet blindly. She had pulled out a dress that she hadn't worn in a long time. It was a blue dress, spaghetti strap, not too low cut, with a long blue scarf hanging from her elbows. Normally she would have changed her outfit fifty times at least, but she knew she didn't have the time, and it would only frustrate her more. Startled, she looked up as she heard a knock on the door. Kagome stood, shoes in hand, and slipped her little black purse onto her shoulder.

She made her way out to the door and opened it. Inuyasha was standing there, wearing a dark blue suit with a light blue shirt underneath. He removed his sunglasses and smiled to her. Kagome thought he looked good with all his hair tied back loosely at the base of his neck. She tried to smile, and he smiled a little back. "Ready to go?" he asked.

Kagome went back and got her water, then she went back to the door and put her shoes on, she locked the door behind her, then put her scarf up around her neck twice, leaving both parts hanging in front of her. Inuyasha led her around to the car, and he opened the door for her. She got in and took another drink of water.

Inuyasha got in and Kagome noticed that he had one of those cars that had all kinda of technology wired in. Including a laptop sitting in a built-in port on the dash board. Digital radio that showed a picture of the radio station, the song playing, the album, the artist and when it came out. He had a kinds of buttons and switches, Kagome was to play with the all. He pulled out a cup holder from under her unused ashtray for her bottle, but Kagome held onto it.

He started up the car, and Kagome looked out the window as he pulled out of the parking lot and started down the street. They soon left the quiet neighborhood and entered downtown. Traffic was going good considering the amount of people that occupied the sidewalks here.

"Where do they live?" Kagome asked.

"In the Morikubo Residences." he answered. Kagome looked at him. "Yah, I know. It's one of the few big places around here that my Father doesn't own shares of. Our house will be by the river in Massakai. It's east of here, closer to where I grew up. Not too far, but enough that my Mother doesn't come over every day."

"Anywhere near the Y.R.R.S.?" she asked.

Inuyasha looked at her. "Not far from, why?" he asked.

"I have a friend who goes there a lot." she said. "Can't get in without her." Kagome added.

He chuckled. "Well it is the Youkai Rest and Relaxation Spa." he said smiling. "Who's your friend?" he asked.

"Her name's Kagura, Kagura Akimeta." she said.

Inuyasha was quiet. He smirked a little. "We've met." he said.

"Not surprising." Kagome said quietly, she took another drink of water. "She knows a lot of youkai people." she said.

Inuyasha stayed quiet, feeling that she was unhappy and uncomfortable. He knew she didn't want to be here, but he didn't have a choice, she was to be his wife weither either of them wanted it, and sooner or later she'd have to meet his Mother and Father anyways.

The drive was quiet, the windows blocking most of the sound from the streets around them. When they turned and drove down into and underground parking lot, Kagome took a deep breath, taking another sip of her water. Inuyasha showed the man at the gate a small card from the unused ash tray and they were allowed in. He pulled around and up to the back where he pulled into a paring spot label "40 - C - V". Kagome didn't know what it meant, she didn't care.

Inuyasha turned the car off and gathered a few things from the glove compartment, putting them in a small bag. He went to get out, then he noticed Kagome was still frozen to her seat. He got out and went around. He opened her door for her, waiting patiently. Kagome sat there, staring at the dashboard. He crouched beside her, and put his hand on hers. "Come on..." he said quietly.

Kagome looked at him. "I can't do this." she said quietly. "I'm not ready." she said.

"Well, we can stay down here for a few more minutes if you want." he offered.

"Take me home, please." she asked.

"Kagome do you know how many times I got back in my car when I got to your house yesterday? I almost pulled out and left several times. It'll be okay, trust me. If my Father acts up my Mother will hit him. And if I act up, he'll hit me." he said comfortingly, truthfully.

She laughed a little, and looked away. Inuyasha took her hand and pull on her a little. "Come on..." he said again. Kagome got out again and he closed the door. He locked it with the remote on his keys, and they began walking towards the glass doors a little away. There was a small hallway with four elevators, two on each wall. There was also a water fountain and a soda machine. Inuyasha took her to the second elevator that said "Floors 31 - 60" on the doors. It opened and they let a few people out before they got in alone.

Kagome watched him push the 60 button, and the elevator began to move. It was quiet, thankfully there was no crappy music playing. Kagome turned and looked at herself in the mirror in the back of the elevator. She straightened her dress a little, and flipped her hair behind her back. She evened her scarf, and took a deep breath.

The elevator doors opened and Inuyasha put his hand on her back leading her out. "Don't worry, you look great." he assured, Kagome gave him a weak smiled and he stopped infront of a large wooden door with a white C burned into the middle just above the peep hole. She grabbed him when he went to move closer, and he understood, giving her a few moments. "Ready?" he asked.

Kagome nodded, and just as he was about to knock the door opened.
