“Kagome? What was that for?” Inuyasha asked after Kagome finished her kiss. Tears formed in her eyes as she spoke. “I'm sorry, Inuyasha. I didn't mean to upset you earlier. It's just… you had such a horrible childhood. Youkai looked down and you and so did humans. They treated you like dirt. I just didn't think you'd want your children to be treated the same way.” Inuyasha stood and put his hand s on Kagome's shoulders. “Kagome. If we mated, our children would be only a quarter demon. Hardly any of their demon features would show. And even if they were half or even full youkai, they'd still be loved by their parents. And that's all that really matters. Cause, when it comes right down to it, family and friends are all we got.” Kagome looked up at the hanyou and smiled. Inuyasha smiled back and leaned in to kiss his beloved miko. As their lips met, Miroku called, “I am still here, you know. And I can't exactly leave, seeing as you two are my only way home.” Kagome and Inuyasha parted, both blushing. “Sorry, Miroku. Guess we forgot. Inuyasha, you aren't still angry with Miroku, are you?” Inuyasha sighed. “I guess not. You chose him, after all. Plus, if I kill him, Sango will kill me.” “Inuyasha. I'm… I'm still not sure exactly what my feelings are for either of you. I love you and Miroku both, but as to who I choose…” “Don't worry about that right now, Kagome. You don't have to choose now or anytime soon. As long as you choose someday, then that's fine with me.” Miroku stepped up. “I agree completely with Inuyasha. I think we should concentrate on defeating Naraku first. Then we'll worry about who you've chosen.” Kagome smiled and linked arms with her two favorite men. “Come on, guys. Let's go home!” As they walked to the well, Miroku whispered, “Let's not tell Sango about any of this, okay?” “Agreed,” the other two said. With that, the three hopped down into the well and back to the Feudal Era, ready to face any challenge that came their way. That is, except for Kouga. “Kagome! How could you? I thought the mutt was bad, but the pervert?!”
