Evilchild here with the last chapter to Mixed Feelings. The ending will leave you thinking and wanting to know what happens next.

Now on with the fic!

Sesshomaru and Inuyasha walked in front while Rin and Jaken trailed closely behind.

"So these friends of yours..."
"Yeah?"

"Are they... good friends?"
"Well, they've been good to me thus far."

"Oh."

"Why?"

"Just out of curiosity."

"Hmm..."

"You know.. if your friends ever hurt you... I could.."
"No."

"Why not?"

"Because... I don't know. Just don't, Ok?"
"If it will make you happy, you have my word that I will not harm your friends even if they hurt you, kitten."

"Thank you." he pulled Sesshomaru's arm around his waist and laid his head on his shoulder. "As long as you're with me, I'll make it just fine."

"I'll always be here. You don't have to worry about me ever leaving you again." Inuyasha smiled softly. His head snapped up when a familiar scent invaded his nose.

"The others are close!" He pulled away from Sesshomaru and ran on ahead. Sesshomaru sighed and continued to walk at a slow pace. Inuyasha was quite happy to know his friends were nearby and he didn't want to intrude on the happy reunion so he let Inuyasha go on ahead.

Inuyasha continued to run and pushed through some bushes, one particularly nasty branch scraped his left cheek but it went unnoticed as he pushed forward. He finally pushed through the last bush to see a dying fire, three bodies and two little bodies. He breath a sigh of relief as he found them in one piece. He knelt down and shook Kagome.

"Leave me alone Miroku." he shook his head and laughed to himself. "Kagome wake up. It's me, Inuyasha."

Inuyasha? She sat up with a start and slapped him as hard as she could. "YOU!" she yelled at him, waking up everyone else. "I told you already you can't have the jewel! Go away!!!"

He held his cheek in pain and glared daggers at her. "But I just got here and I didn't come for the jewel!"

"Don't try that little trick on me! I know you're here to take the jewel and give it to Naraku!"

"No, I'm not! What the hell are you on wench!?"

"You are not wanted here Inuyasha. No leave before we are forced to make you leave." Miroku said calmly.

"I don't know what you guys are talking about!!"

"Like you don't! I knew from the start demons like you couldn't be trusted. Where did that scar come from?" Sango asked him.

"I don't know!" he thought back for a moment. "From a branch on my way here."

"That's what you would want us to believe! You got that scar from me when you attacked us the last time!"

"I didn't do any of this! This must be Naraku's doing! You have to believe me!"

"I believe that you are a lier!" Sango yelled at him as she threw her boomerang at him. He didn't want to hurt his friends so he did the only thing he could do. He ran back to Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru's ears perked up as he heard someone shout "You stupid hanyou!" He then saw Inuyasha running towards him with tears streaming down his face.

"Inuyasha? What happened?" he tired very hard to keep the anger from taking over.

"They were horrible! They kept saying stuff! That I attacked them! I know Naraku did this but they won't believe me! They said I was lying! They never want to see me again!!" he cried out.

Sesshomaru clutched Inuyasha tightly as he was the only thing keeping him from killing his now ex-friends. He stroked his hair softly and kissed a ear. "Shh... it's going to be all right. If they were fooled this easily then they were not really your friends to begin with. You're better off without them."

"Don't kill them. Please. It's not their fault."

"I want to. I really want to and it's becoming harder for me to keep me promise to you. I'm trying really hard to restrain myself, kitten, but it's not working well."

"Then let's go home."
"Home?"

"Yes, home. I'm tired of this."

"If you're sure..."
"Positive." Sesshomaru nodded once and told Rin and Jaken to come along. A cloud of smoke appeared under them and floated towards Sesshomaru's castle.

"You won't have to worry about them again. I promise."

"I believe you." he said as he snuggled up against his chest as they drifted into the night to begin anew.

So that's the end of this story. I decided it needed to end because the title just didn't work for me after this chapter. I'm working on the sequel so don't worry it'll be up shortly.
