Mononisuru
Prologue
Kaede walked her horse down a path towards her village. It felt good to be going
back after being away for a week. She had said little about where she was going
and what her purpose was, keeping it all very quiet because she had feared if she
breathed a word her whole plan would fail, she would ask for assistance from certain
people when the time was right.
As she drew closer to her village a small smile played across her face as she recalled
the weeks past events and the plan, praying to the gods it would work.
The elder miko wondered when the younger miko would be returning to her time, the
bit of information was very important for her to know for that is when her plan
would truly begin.
Guiding her horse though the small village Kaede saw a villager approach her.
Coming to walk beside the old miko the villager said "welcome back, Lady Kaede"
Stopping her horse and dismounting Kaede responded to the villager with a warm
"thank you"
Taking the reins from her the villager asked "I trust you journey was a safe one?"
"Hai, That it was" Kaede responded
Hearing a loud noise and raised voices they both turned to see what it was, hearing
the tone of the voices the villager said his good byes and quickly hurried off with
the horse.
Kaede walked towards the noise careful not to be seen. When she reached a safe
spot she smiled inwards at the site she saw; a very upset looking young girl and a
pissed off hanyou laying on the ground mumbling incoherent words. Being able to
hear their words the she stood quietly and listened.
The hanyou was sitting up now, the rosary spell had subsided, his face red from his
anger "YOUR NOT GOING AND THAT'S FINAL!!", he roared
"I AM TO!" the girl yelled back, "AND YOUR NOT GOING TO STOP ME!"
"YES, I AM", the hanyou replied "I WILL CRUSH THE DAMN WELL IF I HAVE TO"
Clinching her teeth together to control her anger the girl said "All I want to do is
spend 'one' weekend with 'my' family"
"No" the hanyou said in a tone that said his answer was final
"Why Not?" She asked
"BECAUSE WE HAVE TO FIND THE JEWEL SHARDS AND WITHOUT YOU WE CAN'T
LOCATE THEM!"
"oh…I see" the girl said sadly "I understand, I'm…just your…personal…shard
detector"
Feeling as though he had won the hanyou crossed his arms over his chest and gave
her a smug look "it's about damn time you listen to me bitch, took you long enough"
The girl looked at the hanyou, her eyes threatening to spill her unshed tears and
said in a eerie calm tone "I will be returning to my time first thing in the morning and
I will return first thing Sunday morning"
It was apparent to all who saw the girl that she was holding her tears in, except the
hanyou in front of her
"Fine bitch, sun up on Sunday, Don't be late or I will be there to drag you back" he
growled out
Not saying a word the girl turned on her heels and walked away.
Still standing unnoticed Kaede smiled her plan would begin tomorrow.
