Mononisuru
Chapter 1: Boredom
InuYasha lay aloof on top of Lady Kaede's hut thinking of how Kagome was; she had
left early that morning, to go back to her time. "Keh!" he mumbled to himself "It
don't matter to me what that wretch does, as long as she comes back to locate the
jewel shards for me", although he knew he was lying to himself, it did matter; in fact
it mattered a lot to him; he knew deep down he would rather have Kagome over the
jewel. He took a deep breath in through his nose hoping to catch Kagome's scent,
he did this for several minutes, then with a heavy heart gave up, her scent was
gone. He stood up and leapt down from the hut's roof, walked inside to see Lady
Kaede sitting crossed legged in front of a fire.
" Hag", He spoke to Kaede "When's Kagome coming back?"
"In two or three days time…" She paused then continued "InuYasha ye and her did
not have another fight, did ye?
"Keh!! And what if we did?" InuYasha smirked
"I was just wondering, She seemed not her self when she spoke with me. Speaking
about not returning to this time, and not being needed. That is why I asked" Kaede
told the Hanyou in a calm tone
InuYasha's mouth opened a little, a deep wave of fear passed through him as he
imagined life with out Kagome, "Not come back", he repeated the old miko's words
with a touch of pain in his voice.
Kaede gave a unnoticeably smile and answered, "Hai, from what I can understand
Kagome is feeling useless to everyone, and her help not needed " Kaede smiled
inwardly and thought to her self "my plan may work after all".
Kaede had a feeling that the Hanyou cared deeply for the girl from the future, but
he was to arrogant and proud to admit it, so the old miko came up with an idea to
bring the truth out and thus far her plan was working.
Kaede looked at InuYasha, "Why should it be a concern to ye?" she asked.
InuYasha caught off guard by the question fumbled for words in an angered (and
slightly embarrassed) fit said "It don't matter to me, I just wanted to know so I
could find something to cover my nose with to keep from smelling her stench", then
he turned and stormed out of the hut.
Kaede smiled at the back of the departing InuYasha "a great fighter ye may be, but
a liar ye are not, InuYasha", she whispered to her self.
Storming to the god tree mumbling obscenities under his breath, he jumped onto the
closes branch and flopped down. Thinking about what the old hag had said.
