Must we Die?

Chapter one:

Tears of Blood

The young miko happily climbed from the bone eaters well, she was just waiting to see those welcoming faces from her family. Kagome peered over the top of the well...she didn't she see or hear anything.

" Where's Sotua? He always waiting here by the well when I get back." Kagome thought

She slowly walked to her once warm and welcoming home, only to see windows smashed in, doors off their hinges and parts of her home still crackled with red embers. Kagome looked dismayed, sad, and utterly mortified.

"Who would do such a thing?!" Kagome questioned. She ran through what was left of her front door, into her living room. She stopped short of her charred sofa. The remains of her welcoming, caring, kind family was sprawled out before her.

"No! Grampa, Mama, Sotua!" Kagome screamed in agony, "Who would do such a thing?!"

"I would." Said a voice from behind her. Kagome spun to find Kikyo, cover in her family's lifeblood.

"Kikyo!" her face contorted with a mixture of anger, despair, and loathing.

"Yes, I killed those fools." Said Kikyo, sporting a devilish grin.

"But why!? They're you Family too!"

"No, they aren't my Family. You may be my reincarnation, but you are your weak family are just the descendants of Keade." She smirked, "You took something of mine……so I got even."

"What!" Kagome exclaimed, "What are you talking about? This it the jewel you want back…..have it! Just please restore my Family's life."

"No you fool! You stole MY InuYasha!!!"

"He has the right to chose who he wants to be with, and that happens to me; K-I-K-Y-O."

"We'll see about that." Kikyo smirked as she disappeared back to InuYasha's time.

"You'll pay Kikyo! Someday soon you'll pay." A anger and despair filled Kagome falls down broken hearted. Her Family was dead, her home was destroyed; all she wanted to do is cry. No tears fell into her lap, only red…blood red!?

"What the hell?!"

Realizing that the red tears were really blood Kagome tried to wipe the blood tears away,

"blood….that can't be right!"

Being unsuccessful in wiping the bloody tears from her eyes Kagome freely let the tears roll down her face and into her lap.

"Where's Kagome??" Shippio asked, feeling ignored Shippio asked again "Where is Kagome?!?"

"I don't know…she should have been back hours ago!" A worried hanyou said while walking back and forth.

"Clam down InuYasha, maybe she just wanted to spend some time with her Family" Sango countered

"NO! She said that she was going to back by sunset!" InuYasha retorted

"No wonder Kagome hasn't come back by now….." Sango mumbled "InuYasha has been over protective."

"What'd you say!?"

"InuYasha…be serious, Kagome hasn't seen her Family in almost four months. She's most likely spending time caching up for the four months she's been gone." Miroku said trying to calm InuYasha down from Sango's earlier comment

" Feh! I'll give her till tomorrow morning." Says a defeated hanyou

"I'm tired" Shippio yawns

Sango smiles and pats Shippio on the head.

"Yes, we should all go to bed. We have a busy day tomorrow." Miroku says

"Feh, I don't need sleep." InuYasha says boldly as he walks into the forest.

"Where are you going InuYasha??" Sango asks

"I need some time alone."

AN: Hey did you the first chapter? Short I know, but hopefully the next chapter will be longer. Well…..salute( that means hello/goodbye in French.)
