Kagome woke with a start.
Blinking the sleep from her eyes, the events from the previous night flooded back to her.
Jumping to her feet, with speed that logically she should not have possessed after staying up all night tending Inuyasha.
She hurriedly moved over to the fevered hanyou, his eyes were closed and for some ridiculous reason she thought he was dead.
The very thought caused her to panic and she grabbed his sleeve, gently shaking him into consciousness .
His golden eyes looked dull and flat, but he smiled at her, despite his apparent condition.
“Kagome.” he whispered, she smiled in return, happy to see that he could speak again, unlike the night before.
“How do you feel?” she asked hurriedly, as though he would loose the ability to reply if she
did not ask quickly enough.
Shrugging, he grimaced slightly at the movement, and tried to act tough, as he whispered
hoarsely “I’m alright. We can go searching for Naraku, after breakfast.”
Kagome shook her head, but was partially relieved, he was cocky and that may be a good
sign of recovery on his part.
Smiling. She said “I’ll make some raman.”
As Kagome walked away to get a pot and the noodles, she sighed, allowing her tense body to
relax, for the first time in 48 hours.
‘Everything, is going to be back to normal.’ she told herself with a smile.
Poor Kagome, she had no idea of how wrong she was.
