While Hisa was sleeping, I walked outside. I decided to sit next to the door
and started to ponder on what to do next. What the Seer said kept going
through my mind. I sighed in frustration; I hate riddles. Since he is a Seer, why
couldn't he just tell me?

I couldn't really go anywhere since I had to keep an eye on my patient. Which
meant I couldn't go to my mother, brothers (my twin is visiting our little
brother, which he, Kane, lives on the other side of the country), and my
friend Mamoru. I started to bang my head on the hut, softly of course.
Soon I grew tired of my actions and stopped. It helped relieve my stress a
little but it also left a mark on my forehead.

`What to do, what to do, I really want to know this new evil is. I was
growing impatient by the minute. Can't that girl heal any slower?' I
asked myself. I opened my eyes wider, realizing that I can be like my father without myself knowing.

The person whom I really wanted to see was Shippo. He is still out,
traveling the world and discovering new things. He can be so resourceful, yet I want
to hear him talk and laugh and smile at me. I want to smell his minty scent
that calms me every time I get agitated or stressed out. I closed my eyes and
smiled as a picture of him appeared.
I was about to open my eyes, hoping that he would be there, but was disappointed when all that I saw were trees and grass staring back at me.

`So, there are two problems so far. There's no Shippo and a girl that can't
heal fast enough. This makes me glad that I am a demon. I can only imagine
what it was like for my mom when she was still human. But, I must be patient
since they say that patience is a virtue,' I thought.

Since there was nothing to do, I decided to use my Water power to water my
herbs since I would probably need them sometime, especially for a hurt
young woman that is sleeping on my futon. I took one final look to make sure she
was sleeping and left to my garden.

I walked toward my herb garden and water poured out of my hand. Since I am
much stronger than my mother and it has evolved, I need not worry to call
for any of my element spirits; they just come to me, knowing what I need. Here,
let me review:

The spirits represent the elements. They aren't human spirits, they are
element spirits, or they are made of the element and they were made to look
like human spirits. My ancestor created them, which is totally cool. You mostly
get the power when you are in your late teens and you have to master them by
the pervious elemental master. My mother taught me and her ancestor, Ashley,
taught her. It usually takes a long time to master them. For me, it didn't take that long. You have to master five elements: Water, Earth, Air, Fire, and Metal.

I stopped watering my herbs and walked back to my hut to see how Hisa was
doing. She was still sleeping when I was there. I sighed. `This is going
to take awhile,' I thought.
I sat back to the same spot where I sat before. Then, I caught a scent of a
demon. It didn't smell threatening, but it made me curious who it was. I
looked back to Hisa and thought it wouldn't hurt to check it out. I decided to
go and put a barrier up around my hut so no intruders would go inside and to
attack her.

The scent led me inside the forest. I saw movement and hid behind the
nearest bush. I wasn't scared, but I needed to see who or what this thing was.

A dog demon about nine to ten feet stomped over some trees and fallen trunks. It was jet black with crimson colored eyes and white fangs sticking out of its mouth that dropped
acid instead of saliva. I stared in awe as the gigantic beast made its way towards me. The grass sizzled as the acid made contact with it.

I stood up and got ready for battle. This was going to be easy. The demon looked at my
direction when it heard sounds caused by my movement. It gave a loud roar, spilling acid all around me. I managed to get away from it by jumping to a nearby tree.

"Alright mutt, if its a fight you want its a fight you'll get," I mumbled as I took my sword out.
"FIRE!" I called as I leapt towards the monster.

Fire covered my sword. I sliced the demon in half. I stood there watching the flames from my sword consuming the remaining flesh and blood. The last piece burned and I decided to get back to the hut.

As I walked away I saw something from the corner of my left eye. I turned to
look. Where the ashes of the demon once were now laid a spider mark. I looked
at it for a brief moment and just decided to ignore it.
