Chapter One: Deadly Alliance
Dream Sequence
Kagome!” shouted Inuyasha who was running towards her with a frightened expression. Inuyasha had just come from the woods. He was supposed to have been training, but obviously something had distracted him and frightened him from that task. And that rarely ever was the case with the `fierce' Inuyasha.
What is it Inuyasha?” questioned Kagome, skipping to his side.Kagome was scared also; she had never seen Inuyasha act like this, except when Kikyo was involved in the situation. Kagome couldn't help but dislike her, but the more she disliked Kikyo, the more she loved Inuyasha.
“I smell Kikyo's scent!” said Inuyasha in a serious tone, hoping that somehow this would spark Kagome's pride to help, but apparently, that wasn't going to happen .He was dumb to think it would.
“That's nice,”Kagome said in a monotone voice, clearly not that interested.
She's bleeding!” Kagome turned to him for a quick glance. Seeing the depressed, almost terrified, expression on her face left her no choice. She had to let him go, she couldn't keep them apart for forever, and somehow they would always find each other. It was much like a bond, a very strong one.
Go to her and report back to me, I'll help her if she's hurt… Kagome's tone said it all, she was hurt beyond belief, but of course Inuyasha didn't care at the moment, his dear Kikyo was in danger, and that's all that mattered. How much he hurt her he could never know, Kagome wasn't even sure he even cared.
“Thanks Kagome! I'll be right back!” said Inuyasha taking offinto the trees.
“You're just going to let him go Kagome?” questioned Sango,I mean, he's just being a total jerk! He knows how much you care about him, but every single time he runs off to save that damn clay pot… I mean, you're here for him all the time and all he can ever think about is that Kikyo,” Sango sighs in disappointment.
“I can't stop him Sango, I never could. I don't even see the point in trying anymore. We all know how this story is going to turn out,” Kagome sighs, looking out into the trees.
That's very nice of you Kagome,” said Miroku with that lecherous look on his face. Miroku crept over and touched Kagome's butt and you know what happens next. Kagome and Sango responded with a slap, one on his cheek and one over his eye.
“Miroku I think it's about time we got you a leash,” said Kagome as Sango started to laugh.Sango and Miroku began exchanging jokes and insults, most of the insults coming from Sango of course.
Kikyo! Kikyo!” shouted Inuyasha running through the forest. He checked every nook and cranny of the forest, following her scent which ever way he could. Panicking every time he checked and she was no where to be found. But then he heard a crunch of leaves nearby, his ears twitching at the slight sound.
Inuyasha…” a faint voice called out to him from the trees.
“Kikyo? Where are you, Kikyo?” Inuyasha looked frantically around, trying to find a glimpse of the pale white skin, long flowing black hair, and the grim face that showed nothing but bitterness.
“Inuyasha, I'm down here,” said Kikyo reaching her hand out to him. Kikyo was down on the ground by a tree, with her clothes torn and bleeding souls, looking really pitiful (hah!). Her face was smothered with cuts and bruises, her legs and arms also. She was obviously in pain and needed to be healed quickly. And her soul carriers were straying from her, trying to find souls, but to no avail.
“Kikyo what happened?” asked Inuyasha kneeling down to help her.Inuyasha lifted her up gently into his arms, cradling her in his lap he whispered that silently. Careful not to damage her any further, he stood up slowly.
“Naraku attacked me… said Kikyo grimly.
“Naraku!” Inuyasha said in clutching his fist tightly. This sparked Inuyasha's attention, as it always did. He always said that he would never allow Kikyo to get hurt again, but once again he had. Soon enough his strikes would be up and she would be long gone. He just couldn't afford that. He felt her weight shift in his hands; he looked down and realized that she had passed out.Without saying a word he rushed off into the trees, trying to get Kikyo back to Kagome and Kaede.
I wonder what's taking Inuyasha so long...” Sango asked, busying herself with her hair.
“Kikyo and him are probably having a very touching moment,” said Kagome with a smile. “A moment that makes you want to kill!” saysKagomeout loud by accident. “Oops?” Kagome cringes, hearing what she had said by accident.
“Kagome are you okay?” asked Sango with a worried look on her face, looking somewhat frightened also.
“I'm fine, no problems here, hah!” yelledKagomea bit too enthusiastically.
“Maybe Kagome could use some help?” said Miroku whispering into Sango's ear. “What do you think?
Kagome!” Inuyasha dropped from the sky holding Kikyo in his arms in slight panic. “Kikyo needs help!”Inuyasha was practically begging Kagome. This hurt Kagome even more, to see how much he cared about her. But of course, she couldn't dismiss his plea. It was so unlike her, and she didn't want to disappoint Inuyasha.
“Put her down, Inuyasha,” Kagome put her hands near the gash and used her miko powers to heal Kikyo; it only took a few seconds. Soon enough, Kikyo's bruises and gashes had gone, she looked well once again and it appeared that she was beginning to awaken. With a leap of joy Inuyasha scooped her up into his arms once again.
Inuyasha…” murmured Kikyo as her eyes fluttered slowly open.
“Kikyo!” Inuyasha practically jumped at the chance to hug Kikyo. Kagome almost couldn't bare the site, but she couldn't tear her eyes away from it either. It was always like this, and always would be. Inuyasha would jump at a chance to save Kikyo any day, having a touching moment of silence. But when Kagome came into the picture, all he did was yell and scream, calling her names in the process. And then it would end, either with a `sit', or slight laughter.
“Come on guys, I think they need some time alone,”said Sango, grabbing Kagome's hand quickly. When they walked away, Inuyasha could no longer control his joy, he kissed her passionately. Too bad that Kagome turned around for one last look, but she didn't cry, she would not cry, she was too strong for such a thing.
Inuyasha, Kikyo dinners ready! Ramen! Where are those two?” Kagome asked herself walking into the forest where they were before. Kagome looked all around for about five minutes, finding them nowhere. And then, as she begins to turn a bend in the path she spots them. “Inu-,” A terrible sight cutsKagome off.
Kagome runs back to the camp in tears, leaving a trail of salty tears behind her.“Kagome what's wrong?” Sango asks as she captures Kagome in her arms.
“Leave me alone!”she shoves Sango away, continuing her run to nowhere.
A week passsedand Inuyasha was spending more and more time with Kikyo, and less and less withKagome. Unexpectedly, when Kagome is simply sitting on the riverpracticing her archery, thinking about all of her problems and how she will resolve them. But a sudden and serious voice knocks all of her thoughts out of conscience, “Kagome,” saysInuyasharesting a hand on her tiny shoulder.
Yes Inuyasha…” saysKagomedrearily. She stands, facing her love, not able to say anything, she can barely look at him, she's too hurt to conjure up words at the moment.
“Weneed to talk,”says Inuyasha. He pivots and begins walking into the forest, motioning Kagome to follow him.
“Um, okay.” Kagome follows right behind him, trying not to walk ahead of him at his steady pace, which is unusual for Inuyasha whom is always trying to start a race.“Kikyo too?” asked Kagomebewildered. If this was so urgent, why would Kikyo need to be involved? What made her such an important factor that she needed to be there at the moment. Why is she here…?
“Leave,” said Inuyasha cruelly, averting his eyes to the ground.
“What!” spat Kagomefuriously.“What are you talking about Inuyasha? Are you insane? Remember, I'm the one who broke the Shikon Jewel, and I will be the one who will recover the shards! I'm not leaving until them. We've already discussed this haven't we?” Kagome's tone cooled down, but Inuyasha had not responded yet.“Inuyasha?” askedKagome, againquestioning his sanity.
I choose Kikyo,” Inuyasha grabs Kikyo's hand, pulling her body close to his, making it clear that Kagome is no longer needed, “Kikyo can help me find the jewel shards, she's much more of an asset than you are. Much of a better priestess also; you could never wish to have the amount of power that she has had bestowed upon her.
“Inuyasha, how could you?” Kagome's eyes nearly burst out of their sockets in pure shock. How could he betray her like this? After all they had gone through he ends their ties like this.“I'm not going anywhere!” shouted Kagomeaggressively.
“Well we'lljust have to force you then, won't we Inuyasha?” Kikyo walks forward to Kagome and swiftly drawsan arrow. Kagome walksbackwards quickly, putting quite some distance between herself and Kikyo. “Bye dear.” Kikyo shoots the arrow at Kagome, but misses by an inch, chopping off a good piece of her hair. Kagome quickly pullsout herownarrow and shoots, but misses also. “Archery was never you're strong point, Kagome,” saysKikyo with an ignorant laugh.
Kikyo shoots againand hitsher mark, right through Kagome's heart. Kagome falls to her knees, clutching the arrow and her chest, trying to ease the pain. But her vision begins to blur bit by bit. Soon enough she is on the ground, slipping into sleep. Inuyasha kneels down besides her, pulling the arrow out of her chest; the blood now flowing more gradually.“Kagome, forgive me,”
Why…? Kagome's eyes close, tears soaking her cheeks.
Without a backward glance both Inuyasha and Kikyo begin to head back to camp. Hey Inuyasha, where's Kagome?” asksSango, noticing that all three of them have been gone for quite some time.
“Kagome went back home, now Kikyo is here,” said Inuyasha, gently pushing Kikyo forward, “you've all met, so yeah. Well, she's going to be traveling with us since Kagome decided to leave. She'll be much more of an asset than Kagome, trust me.” Inuyasha slightly smiles, grabbing a hold of Kikyo's hand again.
“That's just great;get out your nose plugs everybody,” saysMiroku, giving everyone in the group nose plugs that all take willingly. Miroku stretches his hand out to Inuyasha, “you want one?” Inuyasha merely gives him a disgusted look and saunters away.
End Dream Sequence
Kagome's eyes flutter open sleepily. “Where am I?” Kagome was in this very dark room, the only light coming from the doorway that was partially open. Kagome saw a figure that looked like a man; she quickly got up to see who it was, amazed by how wobbly and lightheaded she felt. “Hello, anybody here?” Kagome asks, sliding the door open. She is greeted by a great thump. When she looks down, she realizes that it is a man on the floor, who she had apparently knocked down.
“Ah! Why'd you go and do that?” A man asks, standing up, rubbing his temples. When he turns around to face Kagome, she is greeted by someone who she would've thought as an enemy. But this would not be the case.
“Bankotsu!” Kagome almost falls backwards, but grabs a hold of his sleeve. “Why are you here? Where am I? Did you… did you save me? I remember feeling as if I was about to die…but… I felt someone lift me up from the ground. I thought it was Inuyasha, but I guess not…” Kagome trails off.
“Yeah it was me… what about it? Bankotsu grabs Kagome softly by the arms, trying to straighten her out. She was about to tumble down before Bankotsu took her by the waist and lifts her into his arms. “You're about to pass out…you should rest more.” He begins to saunter back into Kagome's room, but stops abruptly.
“Why did you save me?” Kagome asks, resting his head against his chest. Aware that he is an enemy of all of her friends, including her former friend Inuyasha, and acquaintance Kikyo. But she doesn't care, right now, Bankotsu is all she has and she's not quite ready to let that go yet. It's nice to have a shoulder to lean on.
“I… I don't know. I found you while I was on the way to spy on Inuyasha, but I couldn't just leave you there. I may be a blood thirsty assassin, but I'm not that cruel. So, I brought you back here, better than nothing right?” Bankotsu laid Kagome back onto her cot, beginning to walk away.
When he was out of the room Kagome murmured, “Thanks a lot. There's nothing to live for.” Her eyes begin to fill with tears, but she holds them back yet again. She had to learn to be strong now. She's with the Band of Seven apparently; why would Bankotsu had brought her here though? What purpose would a `companion' of Inuyasha's serve? They have no secrets.
“Yes there is ,Kagome,” said a voice from the room across the hall.
Kagome quickly rushes outside, throwing open the door across the hall, “Naraku!” she yells in terror. Her eyes cast over his body. His dark brown hair cascades over his shoulder, his kimono is partially open, and his eyes are set her on her.
“Yes it is I, Kagome, Naraku. I understand that Inuyasha choose Kikyo over you, and left you to die… what a pity no? Now that you are still alive, and wish to die, it will be quite hard ending your life. Because I assure you Lady Kagome, that I will do nothing in the least to harm you.”
“Kikyo,” Kagome says in a low voice.
“Kagome, who do you hate?” asks Naraku.
Both of them… I hate both of them. Inuyasha betrayed me for her! She's not even alive, she's a clay pot! But I suppose I'll never be as good as the original… I know this is going to sound odd, but I hate her more than I could ever hate you, Naraku. She took everything away from me, the only thing that really counted.
“I understand dear Kagome… Onigumo felt the same way when that Kikyo woman deserted him. Don't you wish for revenge? Don't you wish for freedom? Do you wish to help me gain the Shikon Jewel?” Kagome's eyes shot up to Naraku's face, appalled that he would ask a question like that.
“No…I don't wish to help you locate the jewel shards…but… I have another request. Well, a trade that is. If you help me show Inuyasha what a huge mistake he's made… I'll help you find the Shikon Jewel. I promise you this, but, I work alone. I work with no one else, and you will not order me around like one your little lap dog,” says Kagome hinting at the Band of Seven. Kagome strides out of the room, not giving Naraku another ultimatum.
“Naraku told me you're going to help us destroy Inuyasha and Kikyo,” said Kagura leaning up against the wall.
“That's right,” says Kagome.
“Then you might want to wear this,” Kagura held out a kimono in the front of her. “Don't want you standing out more than you already do, right?” Kagome is handed a black Kimono with red and white Sakura flowers, completely not her style. She was more into bright colors, but this would have to do. She rushed to her room, slipping into her kimono. She did her own hair in a bun, with strains slipping out of the bun; chopsticks were inserted into her hair stealthily, careful not to destroy the structure of the bun.
Kagome walked back to Kagura's room, this time knocking. “What took you so long?” asked Kagura in a restless tone. “Whatever, lets get started!” Kagura threw a fan at Kagome. Kagome was confused, but soon realized what she was supposed to do with it. “You use it to fight dumb ass!” shouted Kagura rolling her eyes.
The practice took most of the day but she finally got the hang of it.
“Practice is over go to sleep!” said Kagura closing her door on Kagome.
“Okay.” Instead of going to sleep Kagome went to the hot spring in the in the back. The best part of the Edo period was the hot springs, a natural resource from nature. How breathtaking it was to find one of these on the rare occasions that she did. So she quickly took her chance and jumped into the water. Beginning to relax she realized that she had nothing to bathe with, soon becoming disappointed annoyed with life itself.
Unexpectedly Bankotsu walks into the hot springs, seeing Kagome settled into its warmth. Kagome looks upward and notices him also, wrapping the towel around her body tighter. “Hey, Kagome can I get in?” asked Bankotsu. Kagome nods, trying not to show a hint of embarrassment. Neither seemed very comfortable when Bankotsu settled in though, besides the fact that they were both attempting to bathe, they were mortal enemies. But one questioned sparked the beginning of their friendship: “Are you still thinking about Inuyasha?” questioned Bankotsu.
Umm, sadly yes. It's really hard to get someone out of your head when so much has happened over the past year… I mean, we've traveled together for so long, and out of nowhere he just ends it like that. It's not right… its inhuman.” says Kagome playing with the tips of her hair, trying to distract herself from Bankotsu's face and body.
Yeah… I guess I know where you're coming from. You can never really trust anyone in a band of assassins. Inuyasha has nothing on us,” Bankotsu says coolly. Kagome laughs, finding the first bit of humor, coming from a killer, in months. “Kagome, can I ask you something?”
Kagome nods, wondering what's on his mind.
“Do you still care for Inuyasha, even after what he did to you?” asked Bankotsu. Kagome was amazed that he would ask a question like this. She had never pictured him as the kind of person that would actually care. But she answered as honestly as she could.
“Yeah, I guess I do. I mean, it's kind of hard to too just stop. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here right now. If I had just let Inuyasha go when Kikyo came into the picture I would be back on the side of the well right now.” said Kagome frowning.
You're sweet…I would've done the same thing, in another case of course. If Inuyasha were the other guy, he would've been dead by now,” said Bankotsu laughing a bit.
I never thought you would be this nice, Bankotsu. You've always seemed pretty distant and rough around the edges. Why are you so… calm now?” Kagome asked, beginning 100 questions.
“Midoriko,” said Bankotsu looking up at the night sky, his brain obviously trying to handle too many things at once. But what Kagome wanted to know is what kind of connection he had with her, the amazing priestess who created the Shikon No Tama, “my mother.”
Pure shock lit Kagome's face, “Wait; hold up, Midoriko was your mother?” asked Kagome. Bankotsu merely nodded, showing pure pride under his expression. “She created the jewel, and died in the process though!” said Kagome.
That story has been twisted around so many ways, no one really knows what happened. Except for me of course, I know what happened, I was there. But there are so many beliefs no one really wants to hear the true one. They all think I'm lying, says Bankotsu shrugging it off.
I'd like to know… said Kagome blushing.
Yeah, maybe another time okay?” said Bankotsu with a sad face. There was an awkward silence which was followed by a yawn from Bankotsu. “Well, I think you should go to bed. I'm not your dad or anything, but you're not exactly the most balanced person I've ever met. Kagura told me you were still a bit unsteady.”
Kagome laughed and begin her way out of the spring, but with her being unsteady and already having overly accidental experiences she trips while attempting to climb out of the spring, her towel falling off in the process. “This is so embarrassing…”she mumbles searching for her towel. Suddenly Bankotsu grabs Kagome by her arm, wrapping a towel around her body.
“Don't worry, I wasn't looking… much,” Bankotsu laughs as he climbs out the Spring himself. One word races through Kagome's mind at the moment, but she can't bring herself to think why. There was something about Bankotsu that she had obviously never noticed. How caring he was, how sweet he was, how charming he was, how attracted she was to him.
“Pervert!” she yelled, her entire face flushing. Bankotsu merely laughed it off, making his way to his room. Kagome was going insane; she couldn't understand anything that was happening. Why was he so attracting now? When before all she wanted to do was murder him, all she wanted was revenge. He had hurt her friends, hurt her, hurt Inuyasha. He'd ruined so many lives, yet she couldn't get him out of her mind.
She walks to her room next; pulling her clothes her behind the spring. She then searches for Bankotsu's room for awhile, realizing that she's never noticed its right next to hers. She gently slides open the door, peeking her head in. Kagome's eyes scan the room for him, but he is nowhere in sight. Disappointed, Kagome turns around. “Oh god!” Kagome yells frantically as she is greeted by the ever so sneaky Bankotsu.
“Sneaking around now are we? Haven't you been embarrassed enough for the night?” Bankotsu chuckles lightly. “What were you looking for?”
“Nothing really… I just wondered what your room look like. Well, oh that's a stupid reason. I mean, I, I was wondering where you were. I didn't see you in your room, and um, I don't know.” Kagome tried and tried to find an answer to his question, but couldn't help but sounding like a blubbering idiot. “I mean, oh my god I sound really dumb,” Kagome began to panic for no absolute reason now, and she said these words very fast: “Well, I was wondering where you were because I wanted to talk to you, and when I opened the door, I noticed your room. So I'm like, oh, duh, all the rooms are the same. And well, I wanted to see your sword, because well, I always thought it look pretty cool; much more impressive than the Tetsaiga, and well I was -..” Kagome was cut off in mid-sentence by Bankotsu, who took a hold of her hair softly, pressing his lips against hers.
This was a moment that Kagome would never forget. His lips crushed against hers, his hands wrapped around her waist, and pressed her back up against the wall. She was afraid whether or not she should return the kiss, afraid of what the outcome might be. But she did anyway, more fervently than she had ever kissed anyone; seeing that this was only her second kiss. Before she had time to translate everything that was happening, their kiss broke, and there was Bankotsu standing before her. “You talk too much.”
Bankotsu slid into his room, smiling briefly as he slid the door closed.

The next morning Kagome went to Kagura for practice, a sort of routine they had going on now-a-days. Practice was to carry on for an entire month before Kagome could be sent out to work. She wanted to show what an asset Kagome would have been to Inuyasha, and she was not going to back down until she had. During that month though, she was mostly distracted by Bankotsu who was making passes at her from time to time. But during the time when they weren't flirting, they were having quite serious talks. Bankotsu had told the story about his mother, Priestess Midoriko. But now wasn't one of those times. She was setting out to the woods to challenge Bankotsu to a fight! “Bankotsu, where are you?” Kagome peered around the trees searching for Bankotsu.
Hello?” Kagome looked forward and saw Bankotsu looking into the river, flicking pebbles and small cobblestones. She smiled, he was always thinking, she thought. She wandered up to him, standing beside him as he looked up, smiling.
“Hey there,” he laughed as he said this, placing his attention in her hands. He flicked the last stone in his hand into the water, the stone skipping at least five times. “Why are you out here? Aren't you supposed to be training with Kagura?”
Kagome nodded. “Well, yes and no. I've finished as of today, even though Kagura is still calling my skills mediocre compared to hers,” said Kagome partially laughing. “She sure is a hand full…” Kagome forgot her purpose for coming there at that moment. Bankotsu laughs and proceeds towards Kagome, caressing her face with a hand, bringing his lips to hers -
“Bankotsu, Kagome!” called Jakotsu running up to them. And then all of a sudden, she stops in her tracks, transmitting the sight before her; her response is a fit of giggles! “Oh, Kagome you work fast, don't you!” Jakotsu's laughter could not be stopped, she practically out of breath, but couldn't stop the laughter.
Bankotsu and Kagome slowly moved away from each other. Hand on head, Bankotsu asked the question that he wished would change the subject, “What did you want to tell us Jakotsu?” Bankotsu said testily.
“Um, oh right! Inuyasha and company are here! I can't wait to tear him apart, right Kagome?” Jakotsu smirked and sauntered away, yelling, “You better hurry up! The parties already started!” as she ran away. Bankotsu trailed after her, grabbing Kagome's hand in the process.
“Right,” murmured Kagome. Her thoughts begin to confuse her now. Just hearing the name Inuyasha set her off, but then again it made her long for him, long for his touch, something that she would never feel again. Her heart began to beat ferociously and her breath was beginning to become short, she was panicking again.
“Hey, are you all right?” Bankotsu asked, facing Kagome. Kagome shook her head, explaining that she was scared of seeing Inuyasha again, what kind of effect he would have on her, of course she didn't admit that she was still in love with him. “Hey, don't worry okay? Just keep your eyes on me, alright? I'll protect you.” Kagome nodded and they continued on their way.
When arriving at the scene, Kagome saw all of them. Sango, Miroku, Kirara in her demon form, Shippo, Kikyo, and Inuyasha. None of them had changed, not a single thing about them. It seems that they had taken quite well to Kagome's leave. They looked fierce and ready for battle. But, no matter how much she focused her eyes on Bankotsu all she could think of was Inuyasha.
Kagome took notice that all the others were fighting, even Bankotsu already dove out onto the battle field.
“Inuyasha I have a surprise for you,” said Bankotsu unsheathing his sword.
Inuyasha did the same, facing Bankotsu with the powerful Tetsaiga. “Feh, it obviously isn't worth seeing! It's coming from you after all,” Inuyasha sneered, unleashing an attack, but Bankotsu avoiding it easily.
The fight began. Bankotsu was beating Inuyasha, Inuyasha used the Wind Scar and it almost hit Bankotsu, but he backed away fast enough. Kikyo then decided to try and strike Bankotsu with her arrow, but out of the mist Kagome appeared and deflected it with her fan.
“Who are you, you look familiar?” asked Inuyasha yelling at the top of his lungs, still battling Bankotsu. He was obviously distraught and was beginning to recognize her. But he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
“Oh come on Inuyasha, I know you're dense but seriously!” Bankotsu laughed, cutting his sword through the Cloth of the Fire Rat. “Look closely… you know who it is Inuyasha, you just don't want to admit it.” Bankotsu dodged an attack from Inuyasha by side stepping it easily.
“Kagome…” the words came from his mouth, almost inaudible. He stared at her for a moment, looking at the very drastic changes. Her hair was much longer, now flowing down her back. Before she used to cut it so that it stayed shoulder length, but she obviously no longer cared. She was clothed in a white kimono much like Jakotsu's, her eyes shaded in black eyeliner, eye shadow, and some black stuff that made her eyelashes full. He turned his attention back to Bankotsu, “What the hell did you do!?”
“I saved her, just like she needed to be, saved that is,” said Bankotsu, launching a powerful attack at Inuyasha that he so swiftly dodged. “You on the other hand tried to murder her! My question is though, why?” said Bankotsu seriously.
“Bankotsu, you should've let her die!” shouted Inuyasha harshly, ignoring Bankotsu's previous question. Inuyasha continued the fight with Bankotsu, and Kagome started the fight with Kikyo. Kagura used her fan to take control of the wind a made a deep mist on her side so that Sango and Miroku couldn't see Kagome. Kikyo shot an arrow but Kagome deflected it with her fan again.
“My turn,” Kagome opened her fan and a flame dragon appeared in front of her. “Dragon's rage!” shouted Kagome. The dragon shot straight toward Kikyo and burnt her arms and legs and parts of her clothes were ruined too. Kikyo feel onto the ground, wrapping her arms around her body in pain .Kagome felt terrific after doing this, finally receiving partial pay back.
“Kikyo!” shouted Inuyasha looking towards her.
“Keep your eyes on your opponent, Inuyasha!” yelled Bankotsu as he slit his sword through Inuyasha's clothing to get his attention. Inuyasha turned around, starting the frequent attacks again, but them being less effective, his vision clouded by worry.
How does it feel Kikyo?” said Kagome with a smile. Kagome pulled three daggers from her hair, placing one between each finger. “Ano, ano, ano, ano…” Kagome sighed, and stretched her hand outward to Kikyo, the daggers now floating in mid-air. Off they went, straight to Kikyo, pinning her to a tree. Inuyasha shouted Kikyo's name in the distance once again.
Kagome quickly grabbed five more daggers from her hair, immediately throwing them at Kikyo.
Out of nowhere though, Inuyasha shouted, the attack which was headed straight for Kagome. “Backlash Wave!” Kagome was shocked that he would go as far as to attack her with the Tetsaiga. Kagome couldn't move, her body wouldn't move, she was pinned to the very spot where she thought she was going to die. There was still slight pain from the attack that Kikyo had done her, she would not be able to survive this one.
“Kagome!” yelled Bankotsu as he jumped in front of her. The attack shot Bankotsu instead of Kagome, Bankotsu immediately falling to his feet. Kagome goes to her knees, capturing Bankotsu in her grasp. She breathes his name, unable to believe the fall he took for her. What an idiot he was! His life was much more of much more worth than hers could ever be.
“One down three to go,” said Inuyasha swinging the sword over his back. He rushed to Kikyo, lifting her from the ground bridal style. Kikyo wraps her arms around Inuyasha's neck, smirking to herself silently; both of them unprepared for what is about to happen next because of Inuyasha's stupid attempt to kill Kagome.
“Bankotsu…” Kagome murmured as a dark aura began to surround her. Kagome placed Bankotsu softly on the ground, rising up. A blade began to emerge from the ground; the edges rough and red, as if it were stained with blood. Kagome lifted her hand to the hilt of the blade, getting a hold on it, and then driving the blade back into the ground again. A black plague spread throughout the land, killing everything in sight. Inuyasha got out of the way as soon as possible, and when he looked down from the tree he had climbed, all of the towns one hundred feet of Naraku's castle were destroyed. “Kagome.I was afraid this would happen.
A/N: Revised and edited. God, I used to type like a child on MJ. I'm so disappointed in myself. I can't even believe I used to type this badly; I want to punch myself in the face after reading this. Horrible editing, I'm beginning to wonder how you could even decipher it. Kudos. Changed a lot, you really should've re-read this chapter, right?
