Chapter 9

God's help me!!!!!!

We came to a small house well mansion and walked thought the big double doors. All around us were servants hustling to get things prepared for there lord, who I can only guess was Inu's brother.

Turning down a long hallway we came to a set of beautifully caved wooden doors. there was a picture of a big dog looking creature who was standing beside a mountain that was smaller than him. The doors were opened by two mean who were human and we walked in.

there was a table with about I'd guess between 20 and 30 chairs. We were lead to one end, of it, to sit down. When we were all situated he began to tell us all he knew which was, to say, a lot.

"the Shikon no Toma was lost about 70 years ago when the priestess Kikyo was corrupted and killed. After that Naraku the man who corrupted her took it right." He paused waiting for an answer we all nodded.

"After that he became overwhelmed by the jewels power and lost it but wasn't killed. Instead he let the jewel go to save himself and in doing so the jewel disappeared..." He got up and went over to a bookshelf were he looked for a minute before picking up the book he wanted.

He opened it and searched the pages until he found the one he wanted. "the only other thing I can tell you about the jewel is this, which a spy of mine found out in the village that created the jewel...are you ready?"

"Yes!!!!" we all said in Unison the suspense was killing us.

"the jewel will travel to find a heart." He read from the page. "that is pure enough to keep it and when it dose the jewel will rest there in the hands of that women and only a women with miko power. Until then the jewel will travel using the power of human's to guide it to a pure one..."

"that's helpful how will that help us?" Inu interrupted.
"I'm not done yet so be quite!!!!" Said Fluffy. Inu answered the most intelligent why he could.

"Feh."

"good now listen..." He took the book and began to read again. "If the jewel can not find a person who meets it's requirements. It will return to the one that carried it before who was pure. If that person is no longer pure it will go to the person before them who carried it. If it so happens that person is dead the jewel will go to there grave to rest." he frowned as he turned the page. "that's all I have...but by the looks of it you'd be better off going to the women Kikyo's grave to see if maybe the jewel went back to her."

"I guess that's what we'll have to do." said Miroku. "but Keade never did say that she was buried in the village."

"Maybe she is there, she just never told us." suggested Sango.

"Maybe..." said Inu looking a little sad.

"Brother?"

"Yes." Inu answered not even bothering to look at him.

"May I have a word with you alone?" Inu looked a little startled but shook his head yes. "Would the rest of you so kindly leave us for a moment?"

"Yes." We walked out of the room to wait for the brother's to be done. All of us really confused.

About 20 minutes passed before Inu came out of the room alone. He walked past us without saying a word and disappeared down the hall. We all looked at each other before following.

We were at the manor gates when he finally stopped to look back at us. He waited for everyone to pass him and leave before he came. He stayed at the back of us as we walk thinking deeply to himself. Whatever his brother said must have really gotten to him.

Not knowing what I was doing I started to slow down until I was next to Inu. He looked up at me as if seeing me for the first time. then back down and for a second I could have sworn he was blushing.

"Inu what did your brother say exactly?" He was defiantly blushing now I could see it threw his bangs.

"nothing at all really...so I guess were going back to the village?"

"Yea but by the time were half why there it will be night. We'll need to stop and camp."

"that sounds like a...good idea..." What was with him, he was blushing like a school boy with a crush...man what did his brother say to him to make him this way? so very, very weird *sigh*

~Camp~

"I got firewood." Said Shippo proudly. "Let's make a fire...Inu could you help?"

"Sure." Inu jumped down from his perch in a nearby tree and landed right next to the small kitsue. He took the sticks and with the skill of many years made a fire that resembled a teepee and then he took a rock and claw rubbed them together making a spark and lit it.

"cool." I said everyone looked at me like I was crazy. "what I've never seen anyone do that before."

"Do me a favor will you Kagome." Inu asked.

"Sure anything."

"sit down before you hurt yourself." Sweat drop Kagome...

"leave me alone! So I don't know everything about this place live with it...sue me why don't you!!!!" everyone gave me the same blank dry look.

"Kagome?"

"Yes Sango?"

"What's sue mean?!?!?" I fell over then hitting the ground with a thud.

"gods help me!!!!"

the fire was burning, we had already cooked and eaten and now where ready for bed. there was only one tiny problem...

"We only have 2 blankets and one's tiny for Shippo!!!!" Said Miroku with an evil grin on his face.

"I'll sleep in a tree." Said Inu jumping up above us landing into the branch overhanging our campsite.

"Well ladies shell we sleep together then?" Me and Sango looked at each other and then to the one blanket in the perverted monk's hands. shivers went up my spine. Then there was something or someone beside me.

"Here Kagome you can lay in the tree with me..."

"I'm afraid of heights."

"I'll hold you tight believe me I will." It was better than sleeping with a pervert.

"Ok."

"what about me?" Said Sango desperately.

"You can sleep with me the blankets plenty big enough for 2." She smiled and walked over to him laying down. She took a stick drew a line in the sand and said.

"You can share the blanket but the second you cross this line I will kill you. Oh and remember this, I kill now and ask questions later...get it?"

"Yes." He said with his hands in front of him waving with a gulp.

"Come on Kagome." Inu hugged me around the waist and leaped up into the tree branch he had been in before. He sat with his back to the trunk and parted his legs. Leaning me against him there, he let his chin rest on my head happily. I sighed happily too wanting more than ever for this to never end. So that I would never go back to my own world just to be that same girl. That girl who lost all of her will to live. That girl that was dead inside and looking for a way out. That girl who needed to die that needed to get away. That girl who was naked and alone...
