Chapter 4: The wee minutes before the near heart-attack…

“Kagome…” InuYasha shook her shoulder again. “Kagome…”

“Mmn, Nani InuYasha, I want some sleep!”

“Shippou got stuck down a badger demon hole and he can't get back out!” Cried a little girl to Kaede, who looked up from her herb collecting.

“3…2…1…” Kaede muttered under her breath. Soon she saw a streak of red, silver, raven, green and white rush past her. “He's at the edge of the forest!!” She called after them.

Once the two got there, they saw Shippou. Head first. In a hole bigger than him. InuYasha laughed.

“It's not funny InuYasha, he could be hurt!” Kagome cried, tugging on a yelping Shippou. When he was finally free, Kagome nearly hugged the life out of him. She would have too, if InuYasha hadn't seen the poor kit's face turn blue from lack of oxygen. Shippou had to be pulled from the Miko's grasp.

“Kagome, I think we should er, go to your time for awhile.” InuYasha said, his unruly bangs covering his eyes, he didn't want her to find out.

“InuYasha, are you ok?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Because, you're hiding your eyes. That means you're either thinking about Kikyou or you don't want me to see them.”

“No, I'm fine,” he said, looking up. Molten gold bet melted chocolate. Her eyes were smiling. So were his.

“Alright.” She said, then noticed three bodies weren't n the room, and it was really quiet. “Where's Sango, Miroku and Shippou?”

“Out.”

“Oh, ok.”

“Let's go.”

“ok.”

`Whew,' InuYasha thought as he helped Kagome out of the well `I almost slipped up. Glad Kagome can be dense at times… I really hope she says… ah, I just hope she enjoys the party.'

“InuYasha, d'you know why the windows are black? I thought Mama was home. Did she tell you she was going out…?”

“Er, nope. C'mon, let's just go inside.”

I know it's short, but that's why the chapter is called `The `wee' minutes before the near heart-attack.' Hope you liked it. I'll probably wait for awhile before posting ch5 unless you guys are extra nice in your reviews. =)
