Summary: Enough is enough. One can only take being second choice for so long. So Kagome comes up with a plan to make Inuyasha jealous by acting like she’s interested in someone else. But what she never expected was that she would find herself becoming attracted to that person nor that she would suddenly be responsible for ending a battle that had started centuries ago and with her own curse and time limit on her life on top of that...... M/K ficcy!!!

Chapter 2: You haven't been in love...

She was so soft against him and for a quick moment, Miroku forgot where he was. In matter of fact he forgot WHO he was. All because Kagome was still pressed against him even though she had stopped crying a long time ago. Miroku knew that he had to pull away or even push her away but his mind refused to cooperate. Kagome was just so limp in his arms that if she hadn't moved just a few seconds ago Miroku would have thought her asleep.
Miroku gave a little smile when Kagome once again snuggled deeper into his embrace. What the hell were they doing, Just sitting there holding each other so comfortably? If anyone happened to look, Miroku was sure that it would look like they were sharing a very intimate embrace. And it felt very intimate to Miroku at least. Kagome was so limp that Miroku was afraid that he could move her in any way he desired and Kagome would let him.
Thinking was definitely bad......
At least it was when Kagome was in his arms. Miroku had made up his mind to push Kagome away, No matter how much he knew she needed the comfort, When Kagome moved in his arms. Miroku held in a sigh of relief when he thought Kagome was about to let go. Two very delicate arms were suddenly around his neck and Miroku exhaled in shock when Kagome's head nestled itself into the crook of his shoulder. Too shocked to move, Miroku sat there with his arms hanging loosely around her. What the he......
Kagome's hot breath slid across his neck and all thought ceased for Miroku. His arms tightened around Kagome off of their own accord. Everything had stopped, Even time itself. Until it suddenly started going in slow motion. One moment Miroku was in complete shock and holding Kagome to him in a death grip. The next Kagome and Miroku were both pulling apart and staring at a very shocked Inuyasha. Inuyasha had returned already. How long had they held each other anyway's?
Inuyasha's muscles had stopped cooperating with him. Even his eye lids refused to move to blink. His mind was the only thing that was going a mile a minute. Eventually though, Inuyasha snapped out of it and he focused a glare at the two people in front of him. It was just a hug, He tried to tell himself. It was just a hug but a really intimate hug. Since when did Kagome let the monk even get that close to her?
Kagome tried her best to hide her elation. She had sensed Inuyasha coming seconds before he had actually arrived. Desperate to put her idea into action she had literally thrown herself on to Miroku. It had been crazy to say the least, But by the look on Inuyasha's face it had worked. Faking shyness, Kagome slowly scooted away from Miroku and moved closer to the now dead fire. Hopefully Inuyasha didn't kill poor Miroku before asking what was going on. After all, The monk hadn't even groped her when Kagome had basically thrown the chance at him to do so.
Inuyasha looked at Kagome. She was looking down and her long bangs had fallen down to her nose effectively covering her eyes from him. Damn it, Inuyasha didn't even know what to do. It entered Inuyasha's mind that maybe he should ask first. At least before he decided to murder that lewd monk. "What's going on here?", Inuyasha asked looking between the monk and Kagome.
Kagome flushed from the roots of her hair to her feet. She resisted squirming at Inuyasha's scrutiny because she knew that she had to act as if she didn't care. So Kagome straightened herself and stopped Miroku when she saw he was about to start explaining. Hopefully what she was about to do didn't make Inuyasha kill Miroku on the spot.
"Am I asking you what went on between Kikyo and yourself? No. I don't delve into your affairs so don't do so with mine", Kagome said sticking her chin out in the air. Oh lord, She wanted to dig a hole and crawl in it. A 12 feet deep hole in the Earth in which no one could dig her out.(Or maybe deeper, All the way to another continent). Preferably Inuyasha because he looked ready to kill. Kagome saw his eyes flick towards Miroku. Miroku was to busy staring at her in shock to notice the way bloody murder was the one emotion becoming more prominent on Inuyasha's face.
Inuyasha took a step towards Miroku all the time wondering if he had given Kagome some of that 'special' tea of his or something. It was the only logical explanation for why Kagome was acting the way she was. "Bouzo, What did you do to her?", Inuyasha asked Miroku. He was becoming even more pissed off because of the way Miroku had just been looking at Kagome and nothing else.
Miroku's attention snapped towards Inuyasha. He resisted the urge to huff at the fool in front of him. It was absurd. Inuyasha was straight up implying that Miroku had done something to Kagome to make her hug him. He wanted so badly to tell Inuyasha straight to his face that it hadn't been HIM who had caused Kagome trouble. Then again, Kagome was certainly on a role that day. He had never expected her to talk to the hanyou that way. "Inuyasha......".
Kagome grabbed on to that opportunity as if her life depended on it. She moved closer to Miroku, Right between Inuyasha and him in matter of fact, And stuck her chin higher in the air. "Leave him alone. He didn't do ANYTHING. I'm the one who hugged him", Kagome lied through her teeth. She was going to go to hell when she died for this. It didn't make matters any better that Miroku was going to know she was lying as well since it had been he who had hugged her.
Where was god when you needed him?
Inuyasha took a step back in shock. The woman had lost her mind. Either that or she really was drunk or something. "Kagome, You're drunk. Move out of the way so I can teach him a lesson on how not to get innocent girls drunk to take advantage of them", Inuyasha said taking another step closer.
Kagome's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. She drunk? Miroku getting her drunk? Miroku taking advantage of her? Inuyasha had lost his mind. Forgetting all about god and everyone else around her except Inuyasha she stood up and glared at him right in the eye. "Do I smell like sake, You buffoon? Take a sniff, Why don't you?", Kagome asked. Her hands had balled up at her sides making it look to anyone who was looking (Miroku) like if Kagome was about to strike out at Inuyasha.
Inuyasha took a sniff at Kagome. She was right , She smelled perfectly normal. Not finding a valid reason to be angry, Other than that hug he witnessed, Inuyasha grabbed on to the next best thing. "Who you calling a buffoon, you wench!?", Inuyasha yelled in Kagome's face.
Kagome's face turned bright red at the insult. She did not WANT to argue with Inuyasha, He was impossible when he yelled. But not wanting to and not having a choice but to do so were two extremely different things. "Who are you calling a wench!? You idiot!", She yelled at the top of her lungs.
Inuyasha stood momentarily still at the tone in her voice. Rage filled Inuyasha's features as he shot up and looked at Kagome in the eye. "I'm not the idiot here, You are! Hugging a lech without even thinking about it!", Inuyasha yelled. His cheeks were quickly turning red with blood as his blood pressure rose with his anger.
Kagome wanted to momentarily jump up and down with joy. Inuyasha was jealous! But then she remembered that he was also being annoying. Out of the corner of her eye Kagome noticed that all the yelling had woke up the rest of the group. Meaning Sango was up so she could put her 'two birds-one stone' theory to the test. "He is NOT a lech! A bit playful, Yes. But I rather hug him than you!", Kagome yelled in Miroku's defence.
Kagome could not see Miroku's expression but Inuyasha's and Sango's were right in her face. Again, She wanted to jump in joy when she saw Sango's wide eyes and heard her gasp. *That's right. Come on, Get jealous and tell him you love him. Like that you two can live happily ever after*, Kagome thought sneaking a glance at Sango. Inuyasha was suddenly in her face again making Kagome take a step back. "Get out of my face, Will you?", She seethed through clenched teeth.
"Feh! I don't give a damn what you do", Inuyasha lied looking away. "I just don't want my shard detector getting distracted".
HIS shard detector? Kagome felt as if fire was coming out of her ears. She could feel her muscles clench up and begin shaking with the fury running through her veins. Kagome was sick and tired of having to deal with Inuyasha and the way he continued on referring to her as 'His shard detector'. "I am not your ANYTHING!", Kagome yelled startling everybody.
Inuyasha turned back to Kagome and gulped at how angry she looked.
"And if I feel like getting a reason to get distracted then I will get it, Got it!?", Kagome continued her yelling. All the pain she felt at being second choice to Inuyasha and the way he treated her had filled her up and now she was exploding.
Inuyasha scowled deeply at her. "Not if he's gonna be the reason why you're distracted", Inuyasha said taking a step menacingly towards Miroku.
Kagome shoved herself in front of a now standing Miroku and pushed Inuyasha hard. "I can do anything I want! Even if it's him I want to do it with. If I want to hug him, I will. Even if I want to kiss him, I WILL!!!", She yelled at the top of her lungs. If Inuyasha didn't kill her for that one then Sango would, That was for sure. Kagome didn't even have the guts to turn around and see Miroku's expression. But she loved Inuyasha and if making him jealous was what was going to get him to forget Kikyo then she would have to risk death.
Inuyasha growled and took another step towards Miroku. He was ready to push Kagome out of the way if he had too, There was no way that the monk was going to touch Kagome. Big mistake because Inuyasha noticed a second to late how Kagome's eyes flashed with anger.
"You moron! I told you not to come near him! Sit, Sit, Sit, Sit, And SIT !", She yelled balling her fists again. Kagome wanted to flinch at how deep Inuyasha had gone into the ground but covered it up with a huff. With her chin high in the air, Kagome stomped towards where her book bag was and packed her stuff. She made sure to keep her eyes avoided from everyone while she closed her back pack. They weren't too far from the well, Luckily for her. "I'm going home guys", Kagome said quietly looking at Shippou and Sango. She looked away from Sango quickly and began walking towards where the well was.
Kagome looked back and saw Inuyasha crawling out of his hole. "Bye Miroku", She said sweetly but quietly and then walked off. She felt so guilty, Especially because of the way that Sango had been looking at her. Kagome hoped Sango would forgive her when it was all over. After all, Kagome was doing this for her as well. When Sango and Miroku were happy in the end, Sango would see that Kagome meant nothing but well with her intentions.
Miroku couldn't help but glare at Inuyasha. A yell from the direction that Kagome had left made them all jump up.
"AND ONE MORE THING INUYASHA! DO NOT TRY TO HARM MIROKU WHILE I'M GONE, BECAUSE I WILL HARM YOU WHEN I RETURN!!", Kagome yelled at the top of her lungs.
The message got across as Inuyasha just glared back at Miroku before climbing up his tree. Inuyasha settled himself on a branch and willed his breathing to calm down. Miroku was his friend, Although Inuyasha had never admitted it out loud. At the moment though, Inuyasha wanted to rip Miroku's eyes out. The way he had been hugging Kagome had made Inuyasha sick. And Kagome had been hugging him back just as fiercely if not more so. It made Inuyasha see red.
Miroku sat himself back down on the ground and made himself ignore the stares coming from the others. What the hell had happened? When had his good intentions of comforting Kagome gotten so out of control? Miroku knew Inuyasha was going to be jealous if he found them hugging, What Miroku hadn't expected was for Kagome to defend him so vigorously. The way Kagome had defended him had confused him and as much as he wanted to deny it, It had also made him feel something weird. Something warm and unfamiliar deep down inside himself.
Sango finally managed to gather up the courage to ask Miroku what exactly was going on. Sango stood up and sat next to Miroku who was busy staring off in contemplation. She waited until Miroku noticed her and looked up to ask her question. "Miroku, What just happened?", Sango whispered in a confused tone.
"If I knew that Sango, I wouldn't be sitting here pondering it", Miroku said looking away from her.
"But from what I heard, Inuyasha caught you and Kagome hugging", She said barely managing to cover up the ice in her tone.
Miroku heaved in a big sigh and exhaled it slowly. "Yes, We were hugging. But I was just comforting the poor girl because of HIM", Miroku said looking up at where Inuyasha was sitting. The only indication that the hanyou had heard him was the way Inuyasha's ears twitched simultaneously. Miroku look away from where Inuyasha was and turned to look at Sango. He found her expression weird at the moment since she seemed to be feeling great relief about something.
"So he got jealous about that", Sango said shaking her head. Her eyebrow rose when she remembered how Kagome had defended Miroku. And what she had said while doing so.
'Even if I want to kiss him, I WILL!'.
"I've never seen her defend you that way though", Sango said looking at Miroku. Yes, The way Kagome had defended Miroku, Along with that one little line, Made her stomach clench with an unwanted feeling. Much like the same feeling Sango always got when Miroku flirted with other women.
Miroku however didn't notice the tone of Sango's voice nor what she was implying. The same line that kept ringing out in Sango's head had just entered his own. Why would Kagome say something like that? If she was someone else, Much older and more experienced in seduction and mind games, He would have believed she had done it to make Inuyasha jealous. But Kagome was Kagome, She was 15 if he remembered correctly, And had no experience what so ever. That much he could tell by just talking to her. So WHY had she said that? There was no way Kagome had done it to make Inuyasha jealous. She wasn't like that.
Boy was he wrong.....................

What would be the most effective way of killing a very annoying, Pesky, Hanyou? Normal ways of killing humans wouldn't work on him, That much Kagome was sure of.
Unfortunately.
Then again, He was half human. NO. She needed a more effective way to get rid of him. Because it wasn't fair. It wasn't fair that she had to go through everything she did for him and all Inuyasha could do was run to Kikyo. Every once in a while he would go into these stages where everything that came out of his mouth was Kikyo. Kikyo this, And Kikyo that. Meanwhile, All that came out of stupid madly in love Kagome's mouth was Inuyasha this and Inuyasha that.
Rat poison. It was most likely going to work. It killed humans almost every day. As for his demon side.......
Kagome had been 8 years old when she had first accidently killed a living thing. Oh yeah, The memory was painful. Her poor, fat, innocent dog Poochy had been this adorable, Beige colored German Shepard. She had loved that dog to death. One day he was hungry. Kagome wanted to be the one to feed him so she went looking for some dog food. She hadn't known any better and had found a can of rat poison in the cabinet that her grandfather had been using around the shrine. Mistaking it for dog food she had put some in the dogs dish.
Rest in peace, Poochy. He died no more then half hour later leaving Kagome feeling distraught and feeling guilty. Eventually though, She got over it since she came to terms with the fact that she had been 8 and hadn't known better.
At least it solved her how to kill a half DOG demon.
If rat poison worked on humans and on dogs, Inuyasha was a goner. Even if Kagome died of pain once he was gone.
Kagome walked quietly into her house and made her way towards the stairs. The clock in the hall said 11 pm. Feeling tired, Kagome forced her heavy feet to make the climb up the stairs. She opened the door to her room and looked around with a sigh. A.C, Carpeted floor, TV, Phone, And her big comfy bed.
Heaven.
With an angry pout on her face Kagome threw her back pack on the floor. Not caring where anything landed, She took off everything she had on except her underwear and flung herself on the bed. She would worry about her problems tomorrow. At the moment, Kagome needed sleep. A lot of it.

Blood. Everywhere. Especially on the white dress. And pain. Coming from somewhere. Looking up, Blue eyes registered that 7 people were standing in a semi circle. One man came closer.
'My beauty.........'
'It pain's me.......'
More blood and a silk cloth wiping it away.
'I do love you......'
'Goodbye........'
A voice that sounded familiar. "Hyakuhei......No!'.

Miroku often complained about how Sango's boomerang was the spawn of all evils. Kagome was reminded every morning that she spent in her time, How much he was wrong. The spawn of all evils was at the moment next to her and buzzing as if its battery life span depended on it. Groaning she turned the alarm clock off. The sun was making it's way through her windows making Kagome squint her eyes as she got up. Feeling groggy and more depressed then what she had felt when she went to bed, Kagome stood up.
Kagome guessed that she stood up to fast because her vision went momentarily black.

'.......iko. You know I want you to be my own'.
Laugh. '.....kyou. If Hyakuhei would find out you would die....'
'But he won't find out. Not until it's too late anyway'.
'Are you planning on turning on our master? Because I won't let you betray him......'
'Such blind devotion. One day you will see that he would so much as kill you before he even felt remorse about it. One day.......'

Kagome rubbed her eyes furiously. When she could once again see her room she gave several confused blinks. What the hell had she eaten? She was hearing things. Weird scary things. Deciding that it was just her imagination, Or perhaps remnants of that scary nightmare she had, Kagome grabbed some towels and made her way to the bathroom. She could already guess how surprised her family was going to be when they saw her face.

"Kagome! Kagome!".
Kagome turned around and saw a very enthusiastic(When wasn't she enthusiastic?)Erri running for her as if she was a football player ready to tackle. Kagome side stepped at the last minute making Erri almost fall flat on her face. The girl stopped her wild running and turned to Kagome as if nothing had happened.
"I'm so glad to see that you have finally gotten over your Vasculitis", Erri said giving Kagome a big smile.
All of Kagome's facial muscles twitched at once. "My what?......", She trailed off with wide eyes.
Her grandfather had just climbed up to number one on her "Who's gonna die" list. Leaving Inuyasha just barely staggering into second.
"Yes, It's very good indeed. Not to mention your Lupus. I hear that those two go hand in hand. You get one and along comes the other sometimes. You were very unlucky to get them at the same time", Ayumi said walking more calmly up to Kagome.
Kagome counted to ten slowly. Inhaling deeply she turned to her friends and plastered a cheery smile on her face. "Where's Yuka?", She asked in her most cheery tone. Which, By the way, Sounded more like a psychos way of promising death in a subtle way.
Erri and Ayumi blinked wildly at Kagome for about ten seconds. Erri was the first one to come out of it and speak up. "Not here today. She has a doctor's appointment. So Kagome, What's been going on?", Erri asked as the three girl group began walking towards the school.
Kagome remained silent for a while voting over something in her head as if it was Survivor. Erri was a big flirt. Erri knew how to flirt. Erri could wrap any guy around her pinky. Something Kagome needed to learn how to do in order to make her plan work. Enter the two things that were being voted on. Whether Kagome should ask Erri for her help or not.
Pros and cons.
Kagome told Erri.
Pros:
Erri agreed, There was no doubt she would, and helped her out. Kagome would learn how to flirt and she could go back through the well and put all her new knowledge to really good use.
Inuyasha became so jealous he choose Kagome over Kikyo.
Cons:
Erri would tell Yuka and Ayumi. Yuka would agree, Ayumi would die young of a heart attack.
Erri became a little too OVERLY enthusiastic about the whole thing.
Erri would never let her live it down.
Kagome never told Erri.
Now that had no pros but it had one really big con.
Kagome would be clueless on how else to go along with her plan and she would lose Inuyasha to Kikyo.
Ayumi waved a hand in front of Kagome's face worriedly. "Kagome......".
Kagome blinked and snapped out of it. "Sorry about that. I kinda spaced out for a moment", She said as they walked down the crowded hall.
"We kind of figured that much.....", Both girls whispered really low. Which earned them a really sincere glare from Kagome.
Kagome huffed loudly. "Erri, I have a something very important to ask of you. A favor from a friend", Kagome said looking ahead.
Both girls looked side ways at each other. Erri jumped up and ran next to Kagome. "What is it? Anything, I swear", Erri said clasping her hands.
Already Erri was become too enthusiastic. But losing Inuyasha wasn't an option for her. "I'll tell you at lunch. Just promise me that it's going to stay between you, Me, and if you must tell someone, Ayumi and Yuka", Kagome said as they neared their first period class.
Of course Erri agreed right away and Ayumi just gave Kagome a weird look all the way into the classroom. A look that said, 'A favor from Erri? You've lost your mind'.
And in a sense, Yes Kagome had.

Lady A walks up to Amy with a cup of coffee in her hand. 'This is my fifth cup in ten minutes....' (Honestly it is!)
Amy looks up at Lady A from her computer. 'Then I advise you get away from me'
Lady A pouts and stomps foot. 'Why must you be so violent?'
Amy rolls eyes and goes back to typing. 'I am not violent. I always give you hugs and kisses when we're saying good night....'
Lady A wiggles eyebrows. 'AMY! What would your hubby say if he read this?'
Inuyasha sitting next to Amy scoots closer and whispers. 'Hit her....Do it. Cause her pain. You know she deserves it'.
Amy turns head to glare at Miroku. 'I blame her lewd behavior on you'.
Lady A face faults, Miroku twitches and Inuyasha falls out of seat laughing.
Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen. We have all lost our minds........

At least it was when Kagome was in his arms. Miroku had made up his mind to push Kagome away, No matter how much he knew she needed the comfort, When Kagome moved in his arms. Miroku held in a sigh of relief when he thought Kagome was about to let go. Kagome's hot breath slid across his neck and all thought ceased for Miroku. His arms tightened around Kagome off of their own accord. Everything had stopped, Even time itself. Until it suddenly started going in slow motion. One moment Miroku was in complete shock and holding Kagome to him in a death grip. The next Kagome and Miroku were both pulling apart and staring at a very shocked Inuyasha. Inuyasha had returned already. How long had they held each other anyway's?
Inuyasha's muscles had stopped cooperating with him. Even his eye lids refused to move to blink. His mind was the only thing that was going a mile a minute. Eventually though, Inuyasha snapped out of it and he focused a glare at the two people in front of him. It was just a hug, He tried to tell himself. It was just a hug but a really intimate hug. Since when did Kagome let the monk even get that close to her?
Kagome tried her best to hide her elation. She had sensed Inuyasha coming seconds before he had actually arrived. Desperate to put her idea into action she had literally thrown herself on to Miroku. It had been crazy to say the least, But by the look on Inuyasha's face it had worked. Faking shyness, Kagome slowly scooted away from Miroku and moved closer to the now dead fire. Hopefully Inuyasha didn't kill poor Miroku before asking what was going on. After all, The monk hadn't even groped her when Kagome had basically thrown the chance at him to do so.
Inuyasha looked at Kagome. She was looking down and her long bangs had fallen down to her nose effectively covering her eyes from him. Damn it, Inuyasha didn't even know what to do. It entered Inuyasha's mind that maybe he should ask first. At least before he decided to murder that lewd monk. "What's going on here?", Inuyasha asked looking between the monk and Kagome.
Kagome flushed from the roots of her hair to her feet. She resisted squirming at Inuyasha's scrutiny because she knew that she had to act as if she didn't care. So Kagome straightened herself and stopped Miroku when she saw he was about to start explaining. Hopefully what she was about to do didn't make Inuyasha kill Miroku on the spot.
"Am I asking you what went on between Kikyo and yourself? No. I don't delve into your affairs so don't do so with mine", Kagome said sticking her chin out in the air. Oh lord, She wanted to dig a hole and crawl in it. A 12 feet deep hole in the Earth in which no one could dig her out.(Or maybe deeper, All the way to another continent). Preferably Inuyasha because he looked ready to kill. Kagome saw his eyes flick towards Miroku. Miroku was to busy staring at her in shock to notice the way bloody murder was the one emotion becoming more prominent on Inuyasha's face.
Inuyasha took a step towards Miroku all the time wondering if he had given Kagome some of that 'special' tea of his or something. It was the only logical explanation for why Kagome was acting the way she was. "Bouzo, What did you do to her?", Inuyasha asked Miroku. He was becoming even more pissed off because of the way Miroku had just been looking at Kagome and nothing else.
Miroku's attention snapped towards Inuyasha. He resisted the urge to huff at the fool in front of him. It was absurd. Inuyasha was straight up implying that Miroku had done something to Kagome to make her hug him. He wanted so badly to tell Inuyasha straight to his face that it hadn't been HIM who had caused Kagome trouble. Then again, Kagome was certainly on a role that day. He had never expected her to talk to the hanyou that way. "Inuyasha......".
Kagome grabbed on to that opportunity as if her life depended on it. She moved closer to Miroku, Right between Inuyasha and him in matter of fact, And stuck her chin higher in the air. "Leave him alone. He didn't do ANYTHING. I'm the one who hugged him", Kagome lied through her teeth. She was going to go to hell when she died for this. It didn't make matters any better that Miroku was going to know she was lying as well since it had been he who had hugged her.
Where was god when you needed him?
Inuyasha took a step back in shock. The woman had lost her mind. Either that or she really was drunk or something. "Kagome, You're drunk. Move out of the way so I can teach him a lesson on how not to get innocent girls drunk to take advantage of them", Inuyasha said taking another step closer.
Kagome's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. She drunk? Miroku getting her drunk? Miroku taking advantage of her? Inuyasha had lost his mind. Forgetting all about god and everyone else around her except Inuyasha she stood up and glared at him right in the eye. "Do I smell like sake, You buffoon? Take a sniff, Why don't you?", Kagome asked. Her hands had balled up at her sides making it look to anyone who was looking (Miroku) like if Kagome was about to strike out at Inuyasha.
Inuyasha took a sniff at Kagome. She was right , She smelled perfectly normal. Not finding a valid reason to be angry, Other than that hug he witnessed, Inuyasha grabbed on to the next best thing. "Who you calling a buffoon, you wench!?", Inuyasha yelled in Kagome's face.
Kagome's face turned bright red at the insult. She did not WANT to argue with Inuyasha, He was impossible when he yelled. But not wanting to and not having a choice but to do so were two extremely different things. "Who are you calling a wench!? You idiot!", She yelled at the top of her lungs.
Inuyasha stood momentarily still at the tone in her voice. Rage filled Inuyasha's features as he shot up and looked at Kagome in the eye. "I'm not the idiot here, You are! Hugging a lech without even thinking about it!", Inuyasha yelled. His cheeks were quickly turning red with blood as his blood pressure rose with his anger.
Kagome wanted to momentarily jump up and down with joy. Inuyasha was jealous! But then she remembered that he was also being annoying. Out of the corner of her eye Kagome noticed that all the yelling had woke up the rest of the group. Meaning Sango was up so she could put her 'two birds-one stone' theory to the test. "He is NOT a lech! A bit playful, Yes. But I rather hug him than you!", Kagome yelled in Miroku's defence.
Kagome could not see Miroku's expression but Inuyasha's and Sango's were right in her face. Again, She wanted to jump in joy when she saw Sango's wide eyes and heard her gasp. *That's right. Come on, Get jealous and tell him you love him. Like that you two can live happily ever after*, Kagome thought sneaking a glance at Sango. Inuyasha was suddenly in her face again making Kagome take a step back. "Get out of my face, Will you?", She seethed through clenched teeth.
"Feh! I don't give a damn what you do", Inuyasha lied looking away. "I just don't want my shard detector getting distracted".
HIS shard detector? Kagome felt as if fire was coming out of her ears. She could feel her muscles clench up and begin shaking with the fury running through her veins. Kagome was sick and tired of having to deal with Inuyasha and the way he continued on referring to her as 'His shard detector'. "I am not your ANYTHING!", Kagome yelled startling everybody.
Inuyasha turned back to Kagome and gulped at how angry she looked.
"And if I feel like getting a reason to get distracted then I will get it, Got it!?", Kagome continued her yelling. All the pain she felt at being second choice to Inuyasha and the way he treated her had filled her up and now she was exploding.
Inuyasha scowled deeply at her. "Not if he's gonna be the reason why you're distracted", Inuyasha said taking a step menacingly towards Miroku.
Kagome shoved herself in front of a now standing Miroku and pushed Inuyasha hard. "I can do anything I want! Even if it's him I want to do it with. If I want to hug him, I will. Even if I want to kiss him, I WILL!!!", She yelled at the top of her lungs. If Inuyasha didn't kill her for that one then Sango would, That was for sure. Kagome didn't even have the guts to turn around and see Miroku's expression. But she loved Inuyasha and if making him jealous was what was going to get him to forget Kikyo then she would have to risk death.
Inuyasha growled and took another step towards Miroku. He was ready to push Kagome out of the way if he had too, There was no way that the monk was going to touch Kagome. Big mistake because Inuyasha noticed a second to late how Kagome's eyes flashed with anger.
"You moron! I told you not to come near him! Sit, Sit, Sit, Sit, And SIT !", She yelled balling her fists again. Kagome wanted to flinch at how deep Inuyasha had gone into the ground but covered it up with a huff. With her chin high in the air, Kagome stomped towards where her book bag was and packed her stuff. She made sure to keep her eyes avoided from everyone while she closed her back pack. They weren't too far from the well, Luckily for her. "I'm going home guys", Kagome said quietly looking at Shippou and Sango. She looked away from Sango quickly and began walking towards where the well was.
Kagome looked back and saw Inuyasha crawling out of his hole. "Bye Miroku", She said sweetly but quietly and then walked off. She felt so guilty, Especially because of the way that Sango had been looking at her. Kagome hoped Sango would forgive her when it was all over. After all, Kagome was doing this for her as well. When Sango and Miroku were happy in the end, Sango would see that Kagome meant nothing but well with her intentions.
Miroku couldn't help but glare at Inuyasha. A yell from the direction that Kagome had left made them all jump up.
"AND ONE MORE THING INUYASHA! DO NOT TRY TO HARM MIROKU WHILE I'M GONE, BECAUSE I WILL HARM YOU WHEN I RETURN!!", Kagome yelled at the top of her lungs.
The message got across as Inuyasha just glared back at Miroku before climbing up his tree. Inuyasha settled himself on a branch and willed his breathing to calm down. Miroku was his friend, Although Inuyasha had never admitted it out loud. At the moment though, Inuyasha wanted to rip Miroku's eyes out. The way he had been hugging Kagome had made Inuyasha sick. And Kagome had been hugging him back just as fiercely if not more so. It made Inuyasha see red.
Miroku sat himself back down on the ground and made himself ignore the stares coming from the others. What the hell had happened? When had his good intentions of comforting Kagome gotten so out of control? Miroku knew Inuyasha was going to be jealous if he found them hugging, What Miroku hadn't expected was for Kagome to defend him so vigorously. The way Kagome had defended him had confused him and as much as he wanted to deny it, It had also made him feel something weird. Something warm and unfamiliar deep down inside himself.
Sango finally managed to gather up the courage to ask Miroku what exactly was going on. Sango stood up and sat next to Miroku who was busy staring off in contemplation. She waited until Miroku noticed her and looked up to ask her question. "Miroku, What just happened?", Sango whispered in a confused tone.
"If I knew that Sango, I wouldn't be sitting here pondering it", Miroku said looking away from her.
"But from what I heard, Inuyasha caught you and Kagome hugging", She said barely managing to cover up the ice in her tone.
Miroku heaved in a big sigh and exhaled it slowly. "Yes, We were hugging. But I was just comforting the poor girl because of HIM", Miroku said looking up at where Inuyasha was sitting. The only indication that the hanyou had heard him was the way Inuyasha's ears twitched simultaneously. Miroku look away from where Inuyasha was and turned to look at Sango. He found her expression weird at the moment since she seemed to be feeling great relief about something.
"So he got jealous about that", Sango said shaking her head. Her eyebrow rose when she remembered how Kagome had defended Miroku. And what she had said while doing so.
'Even if I want to kiss him, I WILL!'.
"I've never seen her defend you that way though", Sango said looking at Miroku. Yes, The way Kagome had defended Miroku, Along with that one little line, Made her stomach clench with an unwanted feeling. Much like the same feeling Sango always got when Miroku flirted with other women.
Miroku however didn't notice the tone of Sango's voice nor what she was implying. The same line that kept ringing out in Sango's head had just entered his own. Why would Kagome say something like that? If she was someone else, Much older and more experienced in seduction and mind games, He would have believed she had done it to make Inuyasha jealous. But Kagome was Kagome, She was 15 if he remembered correctly, And had no experience what so ever. That much he could tell by just talking to her. So WHY had she said that? There was no way Kagome had done it to make Inuyasha jealous. She wasn't like that.
Boy was he wrong.....................

What would be the most effective way of killing a very annoying, Pesky, Hanyou? Normal ways of killing humans wouldn't work on him, That much Kagome was sure of.
Unfortunately.
Then again, He was half human. NO. She needed a more effective way to get rid of him. Because it wasn't fair. It wasn't fair that she had to go through everything she did for him and all Inuyasha could do was run to Kikyo. Every once in a while he would go into these stages where everything that came out of his mouth was Kikyo. Kikyo this, And Kikyo that. Meanwhile, All that came out of stupid madly in love Kagome's mouth was Inuyasha this and Inuyasha that.
Rat poison. It was most likely going to work. It killed humans almost every day. As for his demon side.......
Kagome had been 8 years old when she had first accidently killed a living thing. Oh yeah, The memory was painful. Her poor, fat, innocent dog Poochy had been this adorable, Beige colored German Shepard. She had loved that dog to death. One day he was hungry. Kagome wanted to be the one to feed him so she went looking for some dog food. She hadn't known any better and had found a can of rat poison in the cabinet that her grandfather had been using around the shrine. Mistaking it for dog food she had put some in the dogs dish.
Rest in peace, Poochy. He died no more then half hour later leaving Kagome feeling distraught and feeling guilty. Eventually though, She got over it since she came to terms with the fact that she had been 8 and hadn't known better.
At least it solved her how to kill a half DOG demon.
If rat poison worked on humans and on dogs, Inuyasha was a goner. Even if Kagome died of pain once he was gone.
Kagome walked quietly into her house and made her way towards the stairs. The clock in the hall said 11 pm. Feeling tired, Kagome forced her heavy feet to make the climb up the stairs. She opened the door to her room and looked around with a sigh. A.C, Carpeted floor, TV, Phone, And her big comfy bed.
Heaven.
With an angry pout on her face Kagome threw her back pack on the floor. Not caring where anything landed, She took off everything she had on except her underwear and flung herself on the bed. She would worry about her problems tomorrow. At the moment, Kagome needed sleep. A lot of it.

Blood. Everywhere. Especially on the white dress. And pain. Coming from somewhere. Looking up, Blue eyes registered that 7 people were standing in a semi circle. One man came closer.
'My beauty.........'
'It pain's me.......'
More blood and a silk cloth wiping it away.
'I do love you......'
'Goodbye........'
A voice that sounded familiar. "Hyakuhei......No!'.

Miroku often complained about how Sango's boomerang was the spawn of all evils. Kagome was reminded every morning that she spent in her time, How much he was wrong. The spawn of all evils was at the moment next to her and buzzing as if its battery life span depended on it. Groaning she turned the alarm clock off. The sun was making it's way through her windows making Kagome squint her eyes as she got up. Feeling groggy and more depressed then what she had felt when she went to bed, Kagome stood up.
Kagome guessed that she stood up to fast because her vision went momentarily black.

'.......iko. You know I want you to be my own'.
Laugh. '.....kyou. If Hyakuhei would find out you would die....'
'But he won't find out. Not until it's too late anyway'.
'Are you planning on turning on our master? Because I won't let you betray him......'
'Such blind devotion. One day you will see that he would so much as kill you before he even felt remorse about it. One day.......'

Kagome rubbed her eyes furiously. When she could once again see her room she gave several confused blinks. What the hell had she eaten? She was hearing things. Weird scary things. Deciding that it was just her imagination, Or perhaps remnants of that scary nightmare she had, Kagome grabbed some towels and made her way to the bathroom. She could already guess how surprised her family was going to be when they saw her face.

"Kagome! Kagome!".
Kagome turned around and saw a very enthusiastic(When wasn't she enthusiastic?)Erri running for her as if she was a football player ready to tackle. Kagome side stepped at the last minute making Erri almost fall flat on her face. The girl stopped her wild running and turned to Kagome as if nothing had happened.
"I'm so glad to see that you have finally gotten over your Vasculitis", Erri said giving Kagome a big smile.
All of Kagome's facial muscles twitched at once. "My what?......", She trailed off with wide eyes.
Her grandfather had just climbed up to number one on her "Who's gonna die" list. Leaving Inuyasha just barely staggering into second.
"Yes, It's very good indeed. Not to mention your Lupus. I hear that those two go hand in hand. You get one and along comes the other sometimes. You were very unlucky to get them at the same time", Ayumi said walking more calmly up to Kagome.
Kagome counted to ten slowly. Inhaling deeply she turned to her friends and plastered a cheery smile on her face. "Where's Yuka?", She asked in her most cheery tone. Which, By the way, Sounded more like a psychos way of promising death in a subtle way.
Erri and Ayumi blinked wildly at Kagome for about ten seconds. Erri was the first one to come out of it and speak up. "Not here today. She has a doctor's appointment. So Kagome, What's been going on?", Erri asked as the three girl group began walking towards the school.
Kagome remained silent for a while voting over something in her head as if it was Survivor. Erri was a big flirt. Erri knew how to flirt. Erri could wrap any guy around her pinky. Something Kagome needed to learn how to do in order to make her plan work. Enter the two things that were being voted on. Whether Kagome should ask Erri for her help or not.
Pros and cons.
Kagome told Erri.
Pros:
Erri agreed, There was no doubt she would, and helped her out. Kagome would learn how to flirt and she could go back through the well and put all her new knowledge to really good use.
Inuyasha became so jealous he choose Kagome over Kikyo.
Cons:
Erri would tell Yuka and Ayumi. Yuka would agree, Ayumi would die young of a heart attack.
Erri became a little too OVERLY enthusiastic about the whole thing.
Erri would never let her live it down.
Kagome never told Erri.
Now that had no pros but it had one really big con.
Kagome would be clueless on how else to go along with her plan and she would lose Inuyasha to Kikyo.
Ayumi waved a hand in front of Kagome's face worriedly. "Kagome......".
Kagome blinked and snapped out of it. "Sorry about that. I kinda spaced out for a moment", She said as they walked down the crowded hall.
"We kind of figured that much.....", Both girls whispered really low. Which earned them a really sincere glare from Kagome.
Kagome huffed loudly. "Erri, I have a something very important to ask of you. A favor from a friend", Kagome said looking ahead.
Both girls looked side ways at each other. Erri jumped up and ran next to Kagome. "What is it? Anything, I swear", Erri said clasping her hands.
Already Erri was become too enthusiastic. But losing Inuyasha wasn't an option for her. "I'll tell you at lunch. Just promise me that it's going to stay between you, Me, and if you must tell someone, Ayumi and Yuka", Kagome said as they neared their first period class.
Of course Erri agreed right away and Ayumi just gave Kagome a weird look all the way into the classroom. A look that said, 'A favor from Erri? You've lost your mind'.
And in a sense, Yes Kagome had.

Lady A walks up to Amy with a cup of coffee in her hand. 'This is my fifth cup in ten minutes....' (Honestly it is!)
Amy looks up at Lady A from her computer. 'Then I advise you get away from me'
Lady A pouts and stomps foot. 'Why must you be so violent?'
Amy rolls eyes and goes back to typing. 'I am not violent. I always give you hugs and kisses when we're saying good night....'
Lady A wiggles eyebrows. 'AMY! What would your hubby say if he read this?'
Inuyasha sitting next to Amy scoots closer and whispers. 'Hit her....Do it. Cause her pain. You know she deserves it'.
Amy turns head to glare at Miroku. 'I blame her lewd behavior on you'.
Lady A face faults, Miroku twitches and Inuyasha falls out of seat laughing.
Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen. We have all lost our minds........
