Author's Notes: Okay, here it is, the chapter you've all been waiting for! Well, maybe not, but here it is anyways! Sesshoumaru may be a little OOC, but it's really hard for him not to be, and trust me, it was A LOT worse before.

Chapter 8:

Sesshoumaru had found himself walking straight towards Kagome's room the moment he sensed that she was awake. `That wench,' he thought disgustedly as he walked towards the hallway, `I cannot believe she tried to run.' `But who could blame her…' he argued, `I have not exactly been treating her well, I suppose I might even owe her an apology,' he thought. It would be the right thing to do. He approached her doorway and quickly regained his usual cold composure. He stood in the doorway, watching the girl talk with Rin. He could sense her pain, yet she fought it back for Rin's sake. She sat up, smiling at Rin, but he could almost feel the immense pain shooting through her stomach. `Brave girl,' he thought, watching her. Then he sensed something else besides pain radiating from her stomach. He smiled, barely.

"Rin, you should go get Kagome some lunch, she must be starving," he said to the girl, still somewhat amused.

"Hai Sesshoumaru-sama!" Rin cried, then she ran towards him, hugging his legs.

Sesshoumaru looked down at the girl, and fought back a smile, wanting to keep his uncaring appearance up in front of Kagome. Especially when he was here to apologize to her. He wanted it done as unemotionally as possible. Rin ran off down the hall towards the kitchen while Sesshoumaru just stood there. `How do I start this?' he asked himself, not certain as to how he should go about apologizing. "I, I'm sorry," he heard her say. She apologized, to him? Why would she do that? Stupid bitch.

"And you should be," he spat back, his anger flaring up inside him, "You tried to run away with that stupid wolf, almost killing yourself, and I had to go out of my way to save you yet again."

`That bastard!' Kagome thought, and any guilt she felt about trying to run away quickly disappeared. "You asshole, if it was that much `out of your way' then maybe you should have left me to die and gone on your fucking way!" she screamed at him, letting out all the anger she had been bottling up inside her. "It's not as if you really care if I live or die anyways," she added, a little quieter than before but still full of anger. Then she burst into tears and began sobbing into her hands, slightly regretting screaming at the youkai when she saw the expression on his face.

Sesshoumaru was completely and utterly shocked. He had not expected this kind of an outburst from the girl (her language! My goodness) and he certainly had not expected her to burst into tears afterwards! `I will never understand humans,' he thought, and unable to decide whether or not to comfort her, he left, the sight of her crying driving him insane.

`How on Earth could I have done that…' Kagome thought to herself, disgusted at what she had just done. `He may not exactly be my friend but at least he cared more for my life than Inuyasha did,' she reflected, `But he started this whole thing in the first place! What else was I supposed to do?' She sighed heavily, collapsing back onto her bed. `What do I do now…'

`What do I do now…' Sesshoumaru thought to himself, still shaken by the, well, I guess you could call it a conversation, with Kagome. `Maybe yelling at her was a bad idea…'

HOORAY! Chapter 8 is FINALLY here! It may be short, yes, but it's HERE. I was gonna wait until a little longer, but I figured I've kept you guys waiting long enough (if anyone actually is waiting…). Sesshoumaru is most definitely OOC here, but hey, the first time I wrote it he went something like, `Well, I guesssss I could, like, well… *sigh* apologize.' I think this is much better, I have no idea what kinda drugs I was on when I wrote it the first time. Well, read and review if you have the time!
