Chapter One
‘Is it really over?’ There was a hill over looking Inuyasha’s forest and the bone eater’s well. Kagome sat on this lone hill. She sat and thought of the years past. Meeting Inuyasha, the hanyou and freeing him from his binding death. Meeting Shippo, the young kitsune and avenging his father’s death. Having the lecherous Monk, Miroku join them and finally breaking his family curse, The Kazaana. And finally sweet and sad Sango, her village and fellow demon slayers were killed and she lost her brother, Kohaku to Naraku.
After all these years the Feudal Era was still very impressive, beautiful, and dangerous. Filled with so much innocence and evil. Youkai and humans. The sky was so clear and beautiful, the grass was soft and lush. It still had the power to take Kagome’s breath away.
Kagome a young Miko, hurled into this place very unexpectedly. She thought she handled the situation pretty damn well. The reincarnation of Lady Kikyou, a beautiful priestess in love with Inuyasha and guardian of the Shikon No Tama, the Sacred Jewel.
Kagome held the fully completed Sacred Jewel. It was so kind of Kouga, the wolf demon to give up his shards to defeat Naraku, who was responsible for the massacre of his pack. And dear Kohaku, brother of Sango he died to protect the sister he had once forgotten. The Jewel rested in Kagome’s tightly clutched fist.
‘I knew this day would come.’ Kagome felt the rays of the bright sun warm her skin. And she felt her eyes sting with tears. ‘I guess I wasn’t as prepared as I thought.’ Kagome thought to herself wiping a small tear from her cheek. Kagome stood, no she wasn’t prepared for this, she wanted to run into the arms of the one she loved, Inuyasha. But he was not in the village, he was not in the forest he was not at the well. ‘He should be dead by now.’ Kagome thought sadly.

“I can’t go with you to your time Kagome.” Inuyasha said softly. It was the tone he had when he knew what he had to say would effect Kagome emotionally. Kagome was a little surprised it was once a time were they pledged they would stay together forever. But then even Kagome knew that sometimes those kind of promises were broken. “I need to go to Kikyou.” Kagome’s heart was torn in two. Kikyou. She wanted Inuyasha to go Hell with her. He shouldn’t still love her, because she hated him.
“Inu...yasha, I understand.” For Kagome it would be impossible to hold back her tears. It was over, this was it Inuyasha chose Kikyou.
“I don’t think you really do Kagome.” Inuyasha couldn’t stand to see her cry. He stood quickly and turned away, he knew that if he stayed to comfort her, he might never leave. Kagome’s eyes were dark she didn’t want it to end that way. But she could not look at him for another second. “Kagome...I...” Inuyasha could feel his voice begin to warble, he wasn’t ready to tell her what was really going on, although she did deserve to know. Inuyasha bounded into the air. ‘Keh what a idiot all these years and I still keep Kagome wondering.’ Inuyasha stopped and wanted to turn back and stay with Kagome. ‘No I have to do this.’ Inuyasha bounded off again to see Kikyou.

“ Baka,” Kagome said aloud. She was so distracted by last night she didn’t hear Sango come up behind her.
“Kagome?” Sango said softly. Kagome was surprised to she her best friend standing besides her. It’s been almost a month since Sango went home to the Demon Slayer’s Village.
“Sango, your back.” Kagome wanted to rush into her friend’s arms. But instead she gave her a sad smile.
“Yes, Kohaku was finally laid to rest.” Sango looked into the endless sky. “But he will always be with me.”
“Sango.” Kagome could see that Sango was finally at peace with the death of her Brother. If only Kagome could lay the feelings she have for Inuyasha to rest.
“Kagome! Sango!” It was the voice of the charming and lecherous Monk, Miroku who was running up the hill happily to his friends.
“Miroku!!” The two exclaimed happy to see the young Monk. Miroku left soon after Sango, paying his respects to the grave of his Grandfather and Father both of which lost the battle of the wind tunnel received from Naraku.
“Sango! Kagome! How I missed you!” Miroku pulled both women into his arms immediately placing his wandering hands on both their respective posteriors.
*SLAP!*
*BANG!*
The ever familiar slap to the face and Hiraikotsu to the head. Miroku twitched crumpled on the ground. Suddenly Kagome and Sango began laughing.
“You never change Miroku.” Kagome said smiling.
“Still the Lech.” Sango said trying to hide her blushing cheeks.
“Hey guys!” Came the voice of the young Kitsune, Shippo. There he was running on all fours to the people he came to know as Family. He wanted to go out on his own to become a stronger Demon. But this would always be home.
“Shippo!” Kogome exclaimed happy to see another dear friend. It was only for a moment but she had forgotten her heartbreak for Inuyasha. But just for that moment.
“You came back.” Kagome said, he was the last to leave before Inuyasha. Kagome thought she only needed Inuyasha but having all her friends there with her, she realized she needed a whole more.
Kagome grew sad. It must have shown on her face, because Sango soon asked what was bothering her.
“I wish, I could stay here with you guys forever.” Kagome said shaking her head and crying.
“I wish we could go with you Kagome.” Sango said softly. “There is nothing left for me here and you are my sister.”
“Maybe Ye can.” The familiar voice of Kaede came crawling up the hill. The older priestess had followed Shippo up the hill. Shippo was so happy to see everyone he forgot all about her!
“Lady Kaede!” Miroku said smiling broadly.
“Kaede.” Kagome watched to old priestess shuffle up the hill slowly. Kaede younger sister of the dead Kikyou. Kaede was only a child when her sister was killed by Naraku now over fifty years ago. She isn’t as powerful as Kikyou was but she was still a force to be reckoned with. “Kaede what were you saying, you mean they can come to my time?” Kagome’s heart grew warm at the thought. ‘Would it really be possible could I at least have one wish come true.’
That’s it for that Chapter I hope you want more!
