Kagome, Sango, Miroku and Shippo. Sat before Kaede the Miko in her hut. Everyone was there, everyone except Inuyasha. Kagome sighed deeply. ‘Baka, Inuyasha. You are such an jerk.’Kagome crossed her arms in frustration. The others looked at Kagome. They noticed a change in Kagome. First she was sad and distant. But now it seemed she was becoming angry. It had to be Inuyasha’s doing. Miroku and Sango looked at each other, knowing it was best not to ask to many questions. Kagome wanted to forget Inuyasha, she was the first to speak up.
“Lady Kaede, what did you mean, can Miroku Sango and Shippo come with me to my time.” Kagome said happily. She hoped she hid her anguish enough that her friends wouldn’t get concerned, and ask about Inuyasha
“The bond ye share with one another is very strong. It is my theory that if each one of you take a part of the jewel within yourself you will remain connected forever.” Each group member looked at the other. They all knew that they didn’t want to be apart anymore.
“But Lady Kaede,” Miroku began. “Isn’t there risks in taking the jewel into yourself. Could it not become tainted and corrupt us.”
“Yes there are risks, but the love you share with one another is pure and untainted.” Kaede explained. Miroku could feel the eyes of the blushing Sango upon his face.
“So our love is pure,” Miroku said slyly. “Could one still indulge in the pleasures of the flesh and it remain pure.” Miroku could barely take a breath before Sango belted him with her Hiraikotsu.
“Idiot.” Shippo said shaking his head.
The jewel was purified to defeat Naraku. Kagome held the Shikon Jewel close. That would be a good wish. Suddenly Kagome dashed out the hut.
“Kagome!?” Sango called out following her. Kagome ran hard and fast. Her legs burned and her chest heaved. Soon she reached the top of the hill, her friends following close behind. Kagome stopped suddenly with Sango, Miroku and Shippo stopping a few feet behind her. They were confused, why did Kagome just run away.
Kagome looked out at the vast land. And closed her eyes. Her friends could feel the wind slowly strengthen around Kagome. As a strange blue light, much like Shippo’s fox fire began emanate from her. The sky grew dark although it was noon. Kagome’s eyes suddenly opened and went blank. The Shikon No Tama shot up into the air. Filling the sky with a strange and eery blue light. It was ghostly and the others couldn’t take their eyes off the amazing sight. Suddenly the sky light up it almost blinded the others. Kagome never flinched and her lips were slightly parted. She didn’t speak and looked as though she wasn’t breathing. Suddenly a beam of light shot down from the sky hitting Kagome with such force she feel down to her knees. A moment later Kagome spread out her arms releasing four powerful beams of light hitting Sango along with Kirara who was in her arms, Miroku and Shippo. The last beam shot across the sky over the forest and past fields.
Miroku and Sango found themselves lying side by side in Kaede’s hut. Shippo and Kirara was above their heads snoring softly. Kagome was curled into a ball in the corner. Kaede poured some tea and placed it besides Miroku and Sango.
“I see you are awake.” Kaede said smiling. “That certainly was a awful scare.”
“What happened the last thing I remember is following Kagome to the top of the hill.” Miroku said hold his head. His body tingled and felt warm inside although his skin was ice cold.
“I feel happy.” Sango said laughing uncontrollably.
“Yeah me too.” Miroku agreed joining in the laughter.
“It’s like I’m back in the Demon Slayer’s village with my family and friends or when Miroku and I are together.” Sango gasped aloud. ‘Did I just say that!’ Sango didn’t care she grabbed on to Miroku arm clutching it tightly, giggling like a school girl.
Miroku was surprised he clutched Sango hand pleased by her directness.
“Sango, I love you.” Miroku said growing warmer. There was once a time when he asked Sango to bear his children but he never said he would be faithful. “I promise to be forever faithful to you.” The words just poured out of him. Why did he feel so...giddy?
“Oh Miroku. I feel the same way.” Sango said happily. This was strange Miroku had never been this direct even for him. They looked each other in the eyes, realizing what they vowed to one another, both turned apple red and quickly looked away.
“Inuyasha.” Kagome said softly. ‘Inuyasha, your still alive?’ Kagome could not yet move. She knew the Jewel was powerful but she didn’t expect that. ‘Inuyasha, where are you?’
******
Inuyasha awoke in the middle of the forest. What was that strange light in the sky. And what hit him suddenly. His chest was pained from that beam of light earlier that day. The light that saved his life. All he could was think of Kagome and the over whelming love he was feeling for her at that moment. Kikyou was finally dead, another soul swallowed into a hellish void. ‘Kagome, I’m coming back to you, wait for me.’ Inuyasha said peering at the crater that almost sent him to Hell.
Okay so I change the last part. Why would Inuyasha think of Kikyou when he was having such stronger feelings for Kagome.
