“Did he see me?” Sango pleaded to Yagi. She hadn’t used as much energy as she anticipated when she tried to contact Miroku’s mind, with the help of Yagi. She didn’t think she got through.

“Your connection is very strong even for a destined Husband and Wife.” Yagi said slightly confused. “There is something strong that bonds you.” Sango was quiet then she thought back to Kagome’s wish and taking a shikon shard within herself.

“Why didn’t the connection hold?” Sango asked.

“We need more power. Miroku heart is willing to return to you, but his mind is resistant, it’s an effect of Naraku’s curse.” Yagi continued to explain.

“Maybe if we can get the other parts of the Shikon, maybe then he could be brought back.” Sango murmured, then ran to the kitchen where Inuyasha, Kagome and Shippou sat.

Houjou, Yuka, Eri, and Ayumi all sat in front of the god tree. No one spoke for a long time. Each member of the group thought about their lives. They thought about their families and futures. Ayumi was especially quiet, she refused to eat or look anyone in the eye. She constantly glanced at Sesshoumaru. But when he turned to her, she quickly turned away.

‘What is so familiar about that strange man?’ She would think to herself each time. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of approaching footsteps. Rin had yet to speak to the young humans but being the sweet young child she was, she knew it was time to break the silence.

“Hello, do you live here with Kagome also?” Rin asked merrily.

Houjou was the first to speak. “No, we only came for her union.” Houjou looked back towards the tree. “But now we cannot leave.”

“Why not, are you prisoners?” Rin asked looking towards the exit.

“No,” Yuka smiled. “It is very dangerous out there, we are not sure what’s happening. Our homes, our families.” Yuka trailed off, tears beginning to form.

Ayumi finished, she was a foster child and didn’t have a real home anyway. “They might not have a home to go to.”
“What about you girl. You carry youkai blood, correct?” Everyone gasped as they heard the neutral voice of Sesshoumaru. Everyone looked at Ayumi who stared at Sesshoumaru, shocked.

Inuyasha, Kagome and Shippou stood besides Sango, Miroku.and Kirara After Sango explained the situation to them all, they jumped at the opportunity to help.

“Everyone, doing this is not guaranteed. He is in a deep struggle he may never come out of.” Yagi explained. “I am not sure of the Shikon’s effect on your hearts, but you may become trapped inside the monk’s mind, fighting a battle that will never end until Naraku’s soul is forever extinguished from this world.”

“We have to try!” Kagome exclaimed. “He is our Family and we won’t leave him behind to go through this alone.” Kagome felt her tears begin to slide down her cheeks and Inuyasha wrapped a protective arm around her shoulders.

“Listen small fry, Kagome’s right. We ain’t leaving Miroku and Sango to do this alone, got that!” Inuyasha said, a strong attitude in his voice.

Shippou crossed his arms and thought to himself. ‘I’ve got to be strong.’ Kirara sat besides him. As if knowing what he was thinking, she mewed with understanding.

Everyone gathered around a guest futon that Inuyasha placed Miroku on. Yagi opened her scroll and placed it over Miroku’s forehead, making a easier path for the others to enter. A green aura surrounded all of them as a white light emitted from Miroku. Souta had been watching the events from behind the kitchen door, he watched in shock as the green mist completely engulfed his new Family and disappear into the light that surrounded Miroku.

Kagome opened her eyes and saw that they were in a vast field of beautiful lilies, Sango’s favorite. Kagome looked at Sango who was kneeling in the flowers, tears flowing down her cheeks.

“He has done this for you.” Yagi smiled, she held her open scroll tightly. Sango looked up and smiled with pained eyes.

“Well let’s not waste time, we gotta find Miroku.” Inuyasha said impatiently. Kirara transformed and Sango instinctively jumped on her back along with Shippou. Kagome got on Inuyasha’s back and Yagi floated in the air. Inuyasha-tachi all ran toward a dark forest, a ominous cloud loomed above it.

Ayumi stood and looked Sesshoumaru in the eyes.

“What is your name girl?” Sesshoumaru asked.

“Ayumi.”

“What is your family name.” Sesshoumaru asked impatiently.

Ayumi’s eyes flickered with yellow, she clutched them close as she felt, her heart pound. She never knew her Family, she was abandoned. One clue she had was a locket, in it was a inscription, of a crescent moon on one side, and a incantation on the other. On the front of the locket was one word: Tashio. She also had another clue, she was hoping he would show himself soon. Sesshoumaru used demon speed, to grab Ayumi’s arm. Her friends screamed in terror.

“Let her go,” Yuka called out. Sesshoumaru ignored her pleads, Satsuki stood next to Sesshoumaru, but didn’t interfere. Jaken chuckled to himself.

“Quiet wench! How dare you presume to order Lord Sesshoumaru around.” Jaken squealed. “He’ll have your head.”

“Be quiet Jaken.” Sesshoumaru said, his gaze fixed on Ayumi’s frightened face. “Your name, what is your Family name.” Sesshoumaru repeated, anger growing in his voice.

Suddenly a smaller voice appeared from Ayumi’s body. “Her name is Tashio.” Just as that sentence was finished Myouga the flea appeared from Ayumi’s hair.
