Inuyasha spent the next few days enduring many kisses and a little fondling from Kagome. He attempted weak objections but they both knew he didn’t really want her to listen. She greeted him each morning with a sweet kiss and before beginning her school work Kagome would try to entice him into making love with her, the only way he could resist was by leaving the room when her hands would get too close to the place Inuyasha most wanted them. The couple also spent some time with Kagome’s family playing video games, just talking or watching TV, over all they were extremely happy together and blissfully unaware of the troubles beginning for their friends on the third morning of Inuyasha’s absence.

Sango and Karma were relaxing in the hot spring, having gotten Kaede’s assurance to keep Miroku under watch and away from the women. Karma was reading one of the novels Kagome had sent her when she felt Sango kick her lightly under the water. Karma raised her eyes over the book to see Sango signaling silently for her to look left, into the trees. Karma shifted her eyes without moving her head and after a few moments she saw a shadow moving just beyond the darkness of the forest. She nonchalantly slipped a little lower into the water and stretched, “accidentally” dropping her book on the ledge next to her daggers. She removed three from the top sheath, her back hiding her actions.

“He moved closer,” Sango whispered to Karma’s back then informed her, “He’s right in front of that large tree over there. I don’t think he realizes we’re on to him yet.”

Karma nodded then in a quick fluid motion she turned and flung the first of her daggers. Without pausing she took one of the remaining two into her now empty hand and tossed them both a bit higher than the first and each one was also angled slightly. A moment later they heard an alarmed shout followed by incoherent cursing. Sango and Karma wrapped themselves in towels then hide behind some shrubbery to dress. When they approached him, Miroku tried to smile innocently but it was more of a grimace as he shifted in an attempt at making more space between Karma’s first dagger and his manhood just above it.

“Hello Ladies.” He said calmly, “Would either of you mind helping me? It seems someone has been carelessly tossing around sharp objects.”

Karma laughed wickedly, placing one hand just above one of the daggers pinning his sleeves to the tree and the other jerked out the dagger from between his legs.

“Dear pure spirited monk,” Karma said sarcastically, “If these had been carelessly tossed you would be unable to provide women with those children you always seem to be requesting.”

“Miroku,” Sango shouted as Karma removed the remaining daggers from his sleeves, “it’s exactly behavior like this that caused me to end our engagement, you lecher! When are you ever going to learn?”

Miroku looked contrite and was about to speak when they all heard Shippo screaming for Sango and Karma to hurry to the village.

“Men…injured…demons…can’t find Miroku. Kaede said hurry.” The little fox panted running up to them. He noticed Miroku and said, “You too pervert! Kaede said not to waste time.”

Shippo latched on to Miroku’s shoulder as he followed the women back to the hot spring where they picked up Karma’s bag and Sango’s boomerang before running to the village. They spotted Kaede attending one of the strangers and ran up to her.

“These are the exterminators, tell them what ye have told me.” the old woman ordered the man.

“A monk, a child, and two women? Are you insane old woman? We need real exterminators.” the man said offended and shocked by the group.

“Look asshole,” Karma growled to the man, “I may be a woman, but I sure as hell wouldn’t be laying there like a useless lump with those minor injuries you have. Would you like me to demonstrate my skill by finishing the job someone else started on your sorry ass?”

“Forgive her, please. She is a foreigner.” Sango told the man as she knelt beside him. “We are experienced demon exterminators even though we are only women, would you please tell us what happened and allow us to help?”

The man gave her a doubtful look but after noticing her weapons and Karma’s he nodded.

“Our castle was attacked yesterday by three demons that were after our high lord’s new bride. A farmer from our outer boundaries warned us as we were celebrating the union which sealed peace between us and a neighboring village. The high lord sent out his entire army to meet the beasts but we are all who escaped alive once the lord, lady, and villagers made it into the castle and the priests set their barrier. I have no idea how long they will be able to hold it against the attack, if you are truly exterminators, please won’t you go to our village and help, if they still live?”

“Of course.” Sango replied standing.

She walked off followed by the others. At the edge of their village Miroku grabbed her arm and asked her to stop a moment.
“Sango, we need to wait for Inuyasha.” The monk told her, “He’ll most likely return on the morrow. We can’t just leave without telling him where we are.”

She shook off his arm and snapped, “You wait here with Shippo. I can handle this with Karma and Kirara.”

“I do not believe that to be the best course of action.” Miroku said not backing down from her anger. “Inuyasha will never forgive me if anything happens to either of you should I allow you to go alone.”

“You aren’t allowing shit, Miroku.” Karma snapped irritated by the chauvinistic attitude shared by the men of this time. “We can handle this, if we don’t return by the time Inuyasha does you can follow us.”

Kirara transformed as if in agreement and Sango leapt to her back. Karma was slower mounting behind Sango. As they lifted into the air Karma gripped Sango’s waist tightly and the women heard Shippo shouting for them to be careful. When they were flying level in the sky Sango looked over her shoulder at Karma’s pale face.

“If you don’t loosen your grip I’m going to have broken ribs before we even start the battle.”

“Oh shit! I’m sorry.” Karma loosened the hold and closed her eyes. “Warn me before we land, okay?”

Sango shrugged slightly and answered, “No problem.”

Karma started singing aloud in a near panicked voice,

“Picture yourself in a boat on a river with tangerine trees and marmalade skies, somebody calls you.
You answer quite slowly, a girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green towering over your hair.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes and she’s gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds.”

She continued to sing the entire Beatles song over and over until Sango finally announced they were going to land. Karma jumped off the moment Kirara’s feet touched ground. Sango joined her with a concerned look as she watched Karma steady the shaking legs holding her up.

“I’m fine.” Karma said as she pulled out her largest dagger and a smaller one. “Let’s go introduce ourselves to those fuckers before that barrier breaks.”

Sango nodded as she and Kirara followed Karma who was already rushing the three demons that were attacking the castle barrier. Sango threw her boomerang cutting one of them across the back of the neck.

“Hey Fuckers!” Karma yelled, “The fight is over here!”

“You pathetic whores shall pay dearly for your interference.” roared the demon Sango had hit.

The largest of the demons sent a ball of dark energy hurtling towards them, which Karma deflected by raising a barrier around herself, Sango, and Kirara. It then vanished from sight as the remaining two split up to surround the women. Once they led the demons to a near by open field to keep from further damaging the village, Karma dropped the barrier and charged the one nearest her. Sango took the one she had hit with Kirara advancing on the demon by her side. The demon slammed its massive palm flat onto the ground sending out a ripple of destructive power towards her. Sango jumped on to Kirara, who took to the air instantly, then flung her boomerang at the evil creature cutting it’s shoulder. It lunged at them enraged and struck Kirara sending her and Sango toppling to the earth. Kirara just managed to place her body beneath Sango to cushion her owners fall. Sango bounced off of the loyal demon as it transformed back into its smaller size and lay unconscious.

“Kirara!” Sango gasped in horror before turning to face her opponent screaming, “You shall die for that demon!”

She launched her boomerang at its neck, while across the way Karma was having a difficult time of her own. When Karma first charged her demon she sent her smaller dagger sailing ahead of her. It lodged itself into the demon’s eye. The demon screamed with rage as it pulled the blade out and tossed the weapon to the ground. With a sweeping motion of his arm the demon sent a shower of spikes to impale Karma. She raised a shield barrier and rushed at the monster through the incoming attack. As Karma approached the vile beast swung it’s deadly claws in an attempt to strike her. She flipped over its wrist and as she came down sliced her remaining dagger through the wrist halfway into the bone. Pissed by the wound it tried to knock Karma flat with the back of it’s hand. Expecting the move Karma jumped back high into the air and used the demon’s own movement to aid her in cutting the claw completely off. Unfortunately for her the severed claw knocked into her sending her flying back almost twenty feet, where she landed flat on her back completely winded. As she stood, Karma glanced in Sango’s direction to see the boomerang behead her friend’s opponent. Sango had her hand outstretched to catch the returning weapon and did not see the largest demon appear behind her flinging another dark energy blast. Karma called a warning but knew Sango didn’t have time to dodge the attack. Karma called upon every once of her power to erect an impenetrable barrier around her companion. The blast shattered as it hit the barrier with enough force to knock the returning boomerang far out of Sango’s reach.

“Fool your battle is before you, not with that other weak human bitch.”

Karma’s attention returned to her own battle as she heard the familiar voice but her onyx eyes gave testament to the fact she was still using her power to aid Sango. Karma saw a torrent of spikes flying at her quickly, but as she braced herself for the impact unwilling to remove the barrier from Sango, Sesshoumaru stepped up from behind her with a swing of his hand he sent his poison claw attack to disintegrate the advancing spikes. He unsheathed Tenseiga and looked at Karma over his shoulder.

“I shall now show you how a skilled fighter defeats his prey.”

Karma took off after the demon attacking her barrier in an attempt to get to Sango without saying a word to her rescuer. As she ran Karma pulled the large poison dagger from her hip and turned both blades she now held so that they pointed down. Reaching the huge demon she jumped high onto its back sinking both daggers into its neck. She held on to the normal dagger as she removed and plunged the poisonous one repeatedly into different spots along the demon’s neck and upper back. The demon tried to swipe her off but suddenly began falling forward. Karma removed her anchoring blade and flipped from the demon as it hit the barrier and burst into flames from the poison. Karma noticed Sango boomerang near by the spot she landed and rushed to pick it up. Once the flames died away leaving only ash, Karma removed the barrier from around Sango and handed the woman her weapon. They both stared as most of the remaining demon’s body disappeared into a black half circle that had appeared behind it. As the remains dropped to the ground, the unexpected rescuer sheathed his sword and calmly walked toward the shocked women.
“Holy Shit!” Karma murmured, having never seen an attack that made part of a demon’s body vanish into the void.

“That was the path to the afterlife. I’ve only seen it a handful of times while we’ve been hunting Naraku, but it was always a crescent shape. Sesshoumaru must be getting even stronger than we knew.” Sango explained softly before adding a warning. “Keep your temper, Karma. We aren’t even a match for him together and if he decides to kill us because you lose your temper I swear I’ll stop you from resting in the next world.”

“You’d forgive me eventually.” Karma laughed lightly, “Besides my temper isn’t that bad.”

Sango rolled her eyes but didn’t contradict her friend because Sesshoumaru had reached them wearing his customary unreadable expression.

“Where is that pitiful excuse for a monk and the idiot Inuyasha?”

Sango placed a restraining hand on Karma’s arm but she shook it off, instantly pissed by the demon’s words.

“Look, dude, thanks for the help but don’t insult my friends again. It’s none of your damn business where they are.” Karma snapped. “They aren’t here so if that’s all you needed to know you can get the fuck out of here now.”

“Do you believe you have the power to dismiss me?” Sesshoumaru questioned then added, “You could not even dispatch that weak nuisance on your own. Furthermore, you shall address me as Lord Sesshoumaru, wench, not this “dude” as you say. It is a coarse sound and unbefitting one as powerful as I, Sesshoumaru.”

“Karma.” Sango said in a useless attempt to stop the outburst she knew was coming.

“I’ll call you Lord Asshole if I damn well please!” Karma shouted at the arrogant Sesshoumaru. “If you don’t fucking like it you can bite me you bastard!”

Before either woman could blink Sesshoumaru took hold of Karma’s upper arms and lifted her eye level to him. Without otherwise changing his expression Sesshoumaru flashed his fangs threateningly.

“I just may, bitch, if you do not start showing proper respect for your betters.” Sesshoumaru shook her slightly, “Now answer my question, where is the idiot half-breed?”

“Fuck you, Lord Asshole!” Karma answered too angry to be cautious, “When I fucking meet someone who is my better then I’ll show respect.”

Fearing for Karma’s life, Sango spoke up. “Miroku is in our village waiting for Inuyasha’s return, Sess…Lord Sesshoumaru.” She added the title in hopes of placating him before asking, “Would you like us to arrange a meeting between you?”

“I have no need, nor desire to meet that scum. I was merely curious as to why he would send unskilled women to battle demons he should easily be capable of handling himself.” Sesshoumaru tossed Karma down with just enough force to make her stumble backwards a few steps before continuing to Sango, “I now have my answer. You would be wise to teach that woman proper respect before her insolence leads to her death.”

Karma opened her mouth to retort as he turned and walked away, but Sango quickly wrapped an arm around her neck and covered Karma’s mouth as she restrained her. Sango released Karma to stand upright once Sesshoumaru vanished into the outlying trees.

“Why did you do that, Sango?” Karma asked in irritation and ranted without waiting for an answer, “Teach me respect my ass. That arrogant son of a bitch! How the hell can that cold bastard be related to my little brother? If that fucker hadn’t helped me out, I would slit his damn throat!”

“Calm down, Karma. How many times do you have to be told there is no possible way for you to even slightly harm Sesshoumaru?” Sango asked with the same tolerance she used when dealing with Inuyasha’s temper. “I think I finally understand exactly why Inuyasha claims you as sister.” Sango stated amused, “With that temper you must remind him of himself.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment, even though I don’t think you meant it that way.” Karma laughed forgetting her anger.

Kirara chose that moment to leap onto Sango’s shoulder and rub against her cheek. Both women petted the little demon and praised her bravery, after Sango checked her for any wounds. In unison they walked back to the castle to ensure themselves all within were safe.

A/N What do you think of the fight description? I'm not sure if I should detail them in future chapters or just say they fought and continue on.
