(A/N) Hey! I'm back with the next chapter. I put a lot of effort in this one, because I wanted to have less grammatical errors, as I say before English isn't my first language so I'm putting everything I know to make it easy for everyone, I apologize for my mistakes, and I want to thank Saiyajin Princess Chichi for her great advice about my grammar, and of course to all my reviewers, I'm sooo happy!

Chapter 3:

She heard him, clearly and fluently, with no confusion at all, it wasn't necessary to repeat it, because she had understand it perfectly well, but her mind wasn't aware, it was as if she had gone to another dimension, where the only thing that you could hear was his voice repeating it over and over again.

He was watching every emotion going through those sapphire eyes of hers, from surprise, to fear and to fear to astonishment, he was losing his patience, and let's say that patience wasn't his thing, he knew her answer all ready, so why was she not answering him "What is taking her so long?" he thought with a little less confidence than before, no woman had ever kept him waiting for an answer more than five minutes since high school, he was about to tell her something when she spoke.

"W-what? Are you serious? But-but what about Kikyo, even if what you say it's true, it's not right!" she had rose to her feet " I thought we were going to be friends, we're good at it, but lovers? How the heck did that idea pop to your head?" Kagome's voice was growing on intensity with each word.

"I already told you, we have a mutual attraction that cannot be avoid, it's obvious, you know it" Inuyasha said with a calm but firm voice.

"I will not deny that I'm attracted to you, because I don't like lying, but is very different to feel an attraction for someone than become his mistress, I thought that I had left very clear who I am, if you want to have sex, then go and look for someone who works for it, because you know what? I do have morals, I want to have someone who loves me and I love him back, not some kind of 'thing' where you have to hide it only to have sexual pleasure as a reward. I definitely will not agree to such a lowly proposal" her cheeks were flushed for all the anger radiating through her body, she was more angry than she had been at the library when he had tried to kiss her "Did you seriously think that I was going to agree in one second?" her hands were resting on her hips and a frown framed her beautiful face.

"Yes! I've been waiting two weeks to tell you all this, I've behaved and I've proved to you that I'm a good guy, isn't that what you wanted?" he was starting to lose his temper, and had rose to his feet too.

"No! I wanted you to prove me that you could be my friend!" tears were accumulating in her eyes, she was so disappointed of him "I'm no whore Inuyasha, and I don't want anything to do with you. It's so sad to see that you couldn't last more that two weeks", she refused those tears to fall, and let her anger take over.

Now Inuyasha was the one that didn't know what to do, he had been rejected by none less that a woman, and for the first time he had nothing else to say. But as he watched her, he felt an emotion that haven't been present in such a long time, guilt.

"I've said everything I needed to so I'm leaving, good-bye Inuyasha" Kagome said with an unusual coldness in her voice that Inuyasha had never seen, he had always seen her so happy and free.

He watched her leave, her long hair flowing freely, and snow falling at her shoulders, and her face saddened and angry, angry because of him. He wanted to go and hug her, tell her that he would leave Kikyo for her, and become one with her, "What am I thinking? Become one with her? She's just another adventure, nothing more” so he refused to go and take her back, because he knew that leaving Kikyo or doing any nonsense he had been thinking wasn't possible, he had to wait, " What are you Kagome Higurashi? I've never waited for anything in my life, I've always had what I wanted, but you're the first one in a long time that refuses, but I'm sure you will worth my waiting" he thought while he watched her turned around the corner and disappear.

Kagome was walking to her house in an slowly motion like if she didn't want to go back, she needed to be left alone, to think, to get angry, to feel anything she wanted, she had been walking for around half an hour, thinking in nothing but him, in the way he had said those words. If she was another kind of women it would have sound sexy, but she wasn't, she was a simple Kagome.

"Damn him! He makes me so confused, I just wanted him to be my friend, I wasn't asking too much, but then he says all that and awakes...things...inside my soul, I need to get back home and rest, take a hot relaxing shower" she thought finally deciding to go back home.

She climbed the long stairs, which made her really tired, she wasn't accustomed to them yet. When she arrived she only announced her presence with an 'I'm home' and went straight to her room. She loved her family and liked spending time with them, but tonight she wasn't in the mood.

She stripped off her clothes and started to relax in the tube "Should I tell Sango? She's my best friend after all. No, no, nobody can know about this, it must be buried inside me, just me" She finally made her mind and decided that no one could know about it, it was for her own good and even if she didn't want to accept it, for his too.

She put on her pajamas and laid in her bed, covers all the way up her chin, face hidden behind the pillow, hair wet and tangled laying beside her,"Why did you have to ruin it Inuyasha?" was her last thought before letting sleepiness take over.

You could see a gorgeous man, shirtless, sweatpants on and blankets tangled around him. He was looking at the white sky of his bedroom, it was already two in the morning and he was still awake. Somehow he wasn't able to stop thinking about her reaction, he was more than surprised, and he hadn't stopped thinking about it since she had left. Never in his life had he been so persistent with women, only Kikyo, but that was another thing "What's the big deal about her that attracts me so much? Sure she's beautiful and has a hell of a body, but still she isn't the first woman that I've liked with those qualities, maybe it is because she has already rejected me twice, yeah that must be it. I just can't stand losing something I want" he turned to his side and finally began to sleep, but unaware of the pain he was going to cause with the decision he had taken.

Sunday passed as quickly as snow faded, and Monday arrived with a bright orange sun and blue skies, it was getting warmer as each day progressed and beautiful rays of sunlight covered all backyards or grounds at Tokyo University.

Kagome loved the sight of sun covering the grounds, because everything looked so full of life, vivid, she just loved it. But today not even the beautiful sight of sunlight could cheer her mood, she felt depress and betrayed. Yesterday she had been distracted doing shores at the shrine, but today she would see him and remember that he was just as she had thought.

Sango and Ayame were visible at the end of the hall, waiting for her. “Ok, Kagome, put your best smile and relax, try to be yourself”.

“Hi Girls! How was your weekend?” said in a too cheerful way.

“Mine was great, I went to visit my grand father and had a great time,” said the green-eyed girl, Ayame

“I was cleaning and putting my apartment in place, `cause it was a total disaster, you must have seen it, it took me Saturday and Sunday to finish it, but now it is clean and neat” said a smiling Sango, she was more herself lately “what about yours Kag?” asked.

“Oh God, I've got to lie to my best friend” Kagome smiled gracefully and answered calmly and leaving insecurities outside “ Nothing much, I had to take care of the shrine, because you know my grandfather he's crazy!” they seemed convinced with her answer and laughed with her. Time for class was coming so they headed to their respective classrooms and classes. Today her first class was Universal History ( A/N: Sorry, I'm not a college student so I don't know what subjects you're suppose to take, sorry for that) and she liked history so it was a good thing to start the day.

Her history class was very interesting, her teacher, Myouga-sensei was an old bald man but with an energy of a kid, made the class very exiting because all of his experiences, he was a 500 years old demon and had lived on several eras and had a lot of knowledge, Kagome had become very attached to him and often helped him packed all his material. Today he had a counseling meeting so he wouldn't be able to order his things, Kagome as the sweet girl she is had offered to do it for him, after all she had the next hour free.

There were a lot of things to accommodate; she needed to place some big old scrolls at the top of a huge drawer. She had gotten a tall ladder from the broom room to do it. Kagome was placing the scrolls on top as careful as she could, she didn't want them to get ruined, finally after placing them as they should she was going to get down when her foot didn't reach the step and slipped, she lost her balance, her body was falling backwards, eyes shutting and preparing for the upcoming pain when……… the door open and a overwhelming blizzard entered the room so fast that Kagome didn't quite catch what was going on, she was about to fall when two strong arms catch her lithe form in bridal style.

Her eyes continue being shut “Did I fall?” she slowly opened her eyes and was surprised to see a pair of light blue eyes staring back at her, it was a man, a very handsome man indeed, black hair, tan skin and well-built, a wolf demon.

“Are you ok?” he said in a deep concerning voice.

“Yes, thank you, for-for catching me…I guess” Kagome freed herself from his arms and stand herself in the floor.

“No problem, I was just passing when I heard someone screaming and entered as fast as I could, and caught you” he smiled sweetly.

“Oh, sorry it's just that I was being a bit clumsy” Kagome was blushing of embarrassment “I'm Kagome by the way, and you are?”

“Kakarama Kouga, (A/N: Don't mind my weird names hehe) I've seen you around, we have Economics together, remember?” he was blushing after all she had the girl of his dreams right in front of him.

“Yes, that's right, that is why you look familiar to me. I'm finished here; I've got a free period, would you like to go to the cafeteria with me? It's the last thing I can for `saving me” Kagome smiled.

“Yes, I've got a free period too so I guess there's no problem” Kouga was blushing even harder, she was asking him to joining her!

They arrived at the cafeteria and took a seat in one of the tables, facing each other. “I've heard a lot about you, you know that?” he said calmly and feeling more relaxed.

“That's a surprise, Inuyasha couldn't have said something, could he?” her eyes grew bigger “Really? Who has told you about me?”

“Ayame, she's my childhood friend, and also another couple of guys at the class we have together hehe” he said “They say that you're a really nice girl, and kind and of course.er..em..pretty” at the last word he looked away from her eyes.

“Hahahahahaha, I-I'm sorry, it's haha just haha, you're expression was priceless. Sorry, I'm calmed now. Wow, it's good to know they aren't saying bad things about me and thank you for telling me haha” Kagome was flushed and laughing.

He was more relaxed now, he thought he may scare her away by saying it, but she seemed as a really good girl so he laughed too.

Kouga and Kagome had a great time together, they talked as if they had known each other for ages and he was such a nice company, he could definitely become a good friend of hers.

A week had passed since her last encounter with Inuyasha, she had had class with him every Wednesday and Friday, but she never spoke to him, however he still sat next to her, but to her relief he didn't try to make conversation either. The sadness she had felt since that day, hadn't faded completely and was all day long thinking that they could have been very good friends, but he had spoiled everything. And a plus to her melancholic days was the fact that she was very attracted to him, even more than she was at the beginning, sometimes she would surprise herself to know she was looking at him when he walked through the cafeteria or so, she was so ashamed of her behavior. Sango had noticed her unusual mood and had asked what was wrong.

Flashback:

"Kagome, I've seen you so down lately, are you ok? What's troubling you?" Sango knew Kagome hadn't been herself these days.

"Should I, Sango I think I'm starting to like Inuyasha a lot, crap no! she'll probably knocked me out" Kagome pictured herself lying on the floor "That's definitely not a good idea" she said instead "Well, I don't know I miss Osaka, all this big city, I don't know how to explain it, gets me in a bad mood I guess" Kagome knew that wasn't true at all but it was possible and believable.

"Oh I know what you mean, that's exactly what happened to me when I moved. You should try to do some activity you're good at, you like archery don't you? The school has a training team, and the sports clubs start next week so you should try it!" Sango said very excited.

"Really? Yeah you're right, that'll help me relax and get my head off things" she said "and of Inuyasha" Kagome was thrilled at the idea, she loved doing archery, she was pretty good actually so it was going to be an excellent idea.

End Flashback

And so here she was a week later, putting on the requested uniform, a white polo shirt and a pair of red shorts, a way too short for her liking, and white sneakers. She needed to go to the training spot, which was an indicated background of the school, and meet the captain of the team.

She was heading there, with all the needed accessories in hand, when she saw who was going to be her captain "No! Kikyo" .

Kikyo was standing in the middle of a small group of people surrounding her, in the same outfit as Kagome, but with an emblem in her shirt to indicate her position.

"There she is, Higurashi Kagome right?" she said in her cold and emotionless voice.

"Great, I entered this club to relax, and look who I found myself with? Kikyo! Inuyasha's sweetheart" she put on her best smile and answered "Yes, that's me, sorry I'm late"

"Ok, well due to the fact that this is our first class, I have to make a test, because as you know, only eight of you can make it into the actual team, so let's start. Make groups of three, quickly" Kagome knew Kikyo was a great captain, very demanding and she wanted to impress, she didn't want to make a fool of herself at something she was good.

Six groups gathered at the end, and Kagome was part of the last group. The point of the test was to shot the arrow as close to the target as possible, and the eight people who were the closest would make it to the team; so far one had pierced the arrow at a tree, another arrow was so close to Kikyo that she had to jump to miss it, and the others weren't so bad. Finally it was Kagome's turn. She was focusing, she have been practicing archery since she was ten, when her father was still alive, and had continued even after he was gone, just because she loved doing it and it really helped her to relax and clear her mind.

She got the arrow in the arch ready to aim, to get it straight in the target, she knew she would, there was no doubt about it. She was waiting for Kikyo's voice to indicate the right time.

"one...two..." she was counting "Now!" Kikyo announced clear and strong "and three". The arrow blew fluently from her owner and landed exactly where it was supposed to: the target.

Kagome smiled widely and was happy to know she had done it and knew her father would have been happy to see her.

"Wow, I'm actually impressed, Higurashi, you're the best so far, you have practice before right?" Kikyo asked with a rare smile, that Kagome supposed where the best she could smile.

"Yes, since I was ten" said Kagome proudly.

"Then you're definitely in the team, congratulations" she padded her back "Ok, that's all, I've got all the names of the ones who make it and they'll be posted in the school, you can leave now" Kagome's mood was better now, even though she'll have to see Kikyo three times a week, it was good to know she would be doing something she likes. She was about to go and change when someone called her name.

"Kagome come here!" Kikyo was there calling her with the man of her desires nest to him, Inuyasha.

"What? No! I don't want to talk to him" but she couldn't refuse to go.

"Inuyasha this is Higurashi Kagome, she is very talented and the best one so far. Kagome this is Inuyasha, my boyfriend, and he has offered to come and help me once in a while" said Kikyo and seemed very happy about the idea.

Kagome bowed and said a shy 'Hi' and he bowed and said "Nice to meet you" and added a sly smirk that Kagome refused to return "Wow Kagome, she looks great on that outfit, hope I could tell her "

"Oh no, he's looking at me, I can stay here any longer, he confuses and makes me feel thing I don't feel like knowing" Kagome was blushing and hoped Kikyo hadn't noticed it.

"Sorry I've got to go and pick my brother, see you Thursday, ja ne!" she left them as soon as possible, she didn't feel comfortable with them, "He's everywhere I go! Damn luck!".

Kikyo and Inuyasha watched her leave and Inuyasha said to his girlfriend "She's nice honey, I think I would be able to teach her some things"

"Thank you baby, for helping me out, you're such a wonderful boyfriend" she hugged him and pressed her head in his chest.

"Haha, this is so good, I'll be able to see Kagome more often and Kikyo won't even notice" Inuyasha smirked to himself more than to anyone else.

Next week was of major stress for Kagome, she had a lot of work to do and she didn't have a lot of free time. And then there was her least favorite part: archery, even if she didn't like, all the classes had been incredibly good, Inuyasha was there in every class to help her out and was in a very good behavior, so sweet and kind to her, it was as if he was his personal coach, and what Kagome liked the most was that he hadn't try to do anything or say inappropriate things, he acted as when they were friends and Kagome loved it, she was very happy about it. However at the same time she was also very worried; because every time he touched her arm to place the arch correctly or walked very close to her, she could feel the beat of her heart increase and her stomach started to make flip flops.

As for Inuyasha, he had convinced Kikyo that Kagome was already good pupil, so she didn't need a lot of help from her and he was the indicate to teach her what was missing. He was thrilled to have her near him, smell her and watch every move she made, he couldn't help it. She was such an unusual creature, her face could change in just one second and then go back to normal. Never in his life had he seen such a woman act that way, she wasn't perfect, she was clumsy, but walked with such a grace thousands of women would like to posses. He had been watching her and had almost lost his control too go a kiss her right, he knew it wasn't possible and all he could do was wait, but sometimes it was just so damn hard. But thankfully today had finally arrived, the day he would make his move, the one that would tell him everything he needed to know.

He arrived punctually as usual and was surprised to see Kagome there, looking as beautiful as always, her usual uniform and her long hair pulled in a high ponytail, she looked lovely. All the members where already practicing, including her, she was focused on her task as usual and he knew she was waiting for him to go, but today he would make her wait for him until it was the right time "Patience my love, patience, I waited two weeks for this, now you have to wait for me".

Kagome was looking at him by the corner of her eye and knew he was looking at her, it was getting her nervous, she knew he was planning something and it was starting to scare her more and more with each minute "Why isn't he coming as usual? I can't stand that he's just standing there doing nothing, it gets me nervous" Her aims were as good as always, but she was sweaty and breathing hardly "What's wrong with me, what is he doing to me? I feel so uneasy, so confused, and he's not even doing something! I must be hallucinating" She closed her eyes, she needed to calm her soul and mind, focus on the task in front of her, not on Inuyasha or anything else.

Kikyo's voice spoke "Ok guys, this will be the last shot, I want it to be as good as you can, give your best effort, no flaws, the champion ship is in two weeks and I want us to be prepared since the beginning of our training, I'll count to ten and at my signal shot your arrow, got it?" Everyone nodded and were preparing for their best shot.

Kagome didn't feel anything around her, she was all focused on the target in front of her, her attention, mind and body was in it.

He walked slowly, like a stalker going for his prey, he was getting closer and closer with each step, it was time to do it and know it once and for all. Kikyo was counting "One...two...three...four...five...six...seven...eight...nine...ten" In an instant he was right next to her, his lips close to her ear and whispered before Kikyo could give the signal "Be with me...my Kagome"

Kikyo's voice gave the signal "Now!"

Kagome was motionless, and all of her attention was broken and realization was taken "No! It's not true, It can't be!" She let her arrow flow and for the first time failed its target. She sank to her knees, arch clutched tightly in one hand, the ribbon that had been placed in her hair had broken and her eyes once vivid...crying, because of the cruel truth that her heart had realized after he had spoken those words " I want to be with him, because-because I love Inuyasha Takahashi!".
