InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Noble House ❯ chapter 1 ( Chapter 1 )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
Okay minna. This is my first web-published fanfic, so please keep that in mind while you are reading. My writing style is not for everyone, I have a tendency to write dark stories (with a good bit of smut mixed in), so if you don't like the dark stuff, don't read it. I also tend to use Japanese terminology and vocabulary. If it becomes necessary, I will include a glossary, but not yet. (and sorry, but i can't add the correct accent marks on some of the words... gomen nasai!!! stupid ms works *grumble grumble*) I have only seen up to episode 127, so anything after that, well, won't be referenced in this fic. Constructive criticism and comments are always welcome, flamers (you know who you are) shouldn't bother. If you cant say "you suck" in a helpful, polite way, you can sit and spin on it. Oh yeah, and I don't own anything created by Rumiko Takahashi. I'll only say that once. Any original character I create will be mine, and I ask that if you want to use them, ASK FIRST. Thanks.
Sango sighed and placed the last of the flowers she had gathered on the grave of her otòto. Kohaku.... you fought so hard in life...... rest well. It had been two years now.... two years since the shikon no kakera had been removed from her otòto's back by Naraku so the tama would be complete, two years since Naraku had been destroyed by her and her allies, two years since her "family" had parted ways. Family....yes... that's what they were...not just allies in my quest for revenge, not just friends, but a family.
She gracefully stood and bowed again to the graves. This would be the last time she would see them in some time. She had come here after the destruction of Naraku to lay her brother to rest, and had stayed, hoping to rebuild the village. It had taken her the two years she had been away from the others to realize that this place was no longer really her home.... just a ghost, a memory of her past that she was hiding in. The others had visited or sent word to her from time to time, and Kagome-chan and Inu Yasha had repeatedly invited her to come stay with them. She had finally given in on their last visit, agreeing to stay with them in their home until such time as her own home could be constructed in Kaede-sama's village. She was tired of being on her own....
Slinging Hiraikotsu onto her back, as well as a traveling pack of clothing and raw materials for weapon repairs, the young woman passed through the dilapidated gates of her childhood home for the last time, heading in the familiar direction Kaede-sama's village. Inu Yasha and Kagome-chan had married a few months after the defeat of Naraku, and their home stood halfway between the town and the Bone Eater's Well. Sango chuckled to herself, remembering Inu Yasha's awkward and shy behavior in the days before he proposed to the young miko. Miroku had teased him mercilessly for days about the perpetual blush staining his cheeks until the hanyou had finally broken down and asked Kagome to marry him. Sango's mind conjured the image of the houshi's smiling handsome face and frowned. She had once felt strongly for him.... first love you might call it.... but the monk's lecherous ways would not leave him, even after the immediate need for an heir had passed. They had tried to have a relationship, but in the end, houshi-sama's hands and eyes would wander to other women, and the proud taijia knew it was time to let him go. The last she heard or saw of him was quite some time ago.
She continued on at a leisurely pace, relatively relaxed from the warm summer sun that beat down on her. She was still alert for youkai or other threats, but she felt secure enough in her abilities as a warrior to reach her destination on her own. It was quiet times like these that she missed her dearest companion. Kirara had been killed in the final battle... destroyed completely by an energy blast from Naraku. Inu Yasha had insisted he come and retrieve her, escorting her back to his home, but she had declined. His warnings of youkai mating season did little to dissuade her, she was confident she could cope with whatever threat she came across. Inuyasha let her have her way (after much arguing and a few knocks to the head with hiraikotsu), but he was still obviously worried. He had changed so much over the last two years.... Kagome's warm and gentle spirit healing the wounds on his heart. Fatherhood had changed him too.... he had adopted Shippou, finally taking responsibility for the kit instead of just acting like a bratty older sibling. Kagome was also apparently becoming heavy with their first biological child as well. Again, Sango found herself chuckling, wondering how many times Kagome-chan would "osuwari" him over the course of her pregnancy.
Sango had traveled the many miles to her destination without incident, and now found herself about an hours leisurely walk from her new home. Disgusted at the amount of dirt she had picked up on her clothes and skin along the way, she stopped by a small spring a little off the main path to wash up. She discarded her dirty kimono along the waters edge, stepping into the spring. The cool clean water tingled against her sweaty skin, and she splashed herself liberally, cleansing her body of the unpleasant perspiration. She washed in a hurry, knowing that to tarry here for a prolonged length of time was dangerous. Little did she know just how dangerous stopping there really was.....
