Chapter 11
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or any of the characters.
“Can you hear me!?” Inuyasha screamed, whilst shaking the frog. “Why can’t you hear me!?” Sango walked up with a bag of groceries in hand. She peered over at the frog.
“I think he’s dead, Inuyasha.” The boys’ eyes widened and they all screamed
“NOOOOOOO!!!!” Sango sweat dropped and started walking away cautiously.
“Feh, oh well.” He chucked the frog over his shoulder and they all shrugged.
“You want ice cream?” The most perverted boy inquired. The other two looked at each other and agreed. Thus, ending their little frog scene and ice cream awaiting them.
It was a wondrous night. Kagome and Miroku both were lying on their beds. It turned out that Shippou wanted to stay the night at his friend’s house and Emi had said it was okay. She truly was a great mother. It was a sad tragedy she could not have children of her own. Although, Kagome was a little glad at the thought that, due to unfortunate events, Emi had decided to be a foster mother. ‘Thanks to her, I can continue living normally. As though nothing happened, and I can dream about the times when me, mother, and Souta will all be living together again.’
“Hey Miroku, how was your date?” The young girl giggled at the slight smile on the boys face. She leaned over on her side with her head held up by her arm. He turned to face her, smile still evident on his face. “Has that smile even left your face?” She teased him. He shook his head indicating that no, the smile had in fact not left his face. This caused another giggle from the girl.
“Kagome it was awesome! I have never felt so…So…So right! I think I’m going to ask Sango to be my girlfriend on Monday.” He looked at her and almost sweat dropped at her hands clasped together and her squealing happily.
“Miroku! That is so cute!” She jumped up and flung her arms around him, causing him to fall over. “You and Sango are going to make such a cute couple….” With that, she went on rambling things about her two friends. Finally, having heard enough erratic speaking, he cut her off. He smirked at her confusion.
“Kagome how was your date?” She scowled but told him none-the-less.
“It was horrible! First, I had to sit through this boring ass movie. Then, he told me he loved me.” She cringed in remembrance. “I mean, I like him as a friend and all…He’s just…I don’t know…I have my heart set on someone else.” She gasped at realizing she revealed something significant. She smacked her hand over her mouth and shook her head. Miroku’s eyes grew wide in shock.
“Kagome-chan! I had no idea! Who is it?” The young boy lay on his stomach on his bed and stared at the horrified girl. Her face became washed-over with a slight blush as she shook her head. She removed her hand from her mouth.
“Kagome!” He said in a teasingly singsong voice. “Who do you like!?” She shook her head and crossed her arms over her chest.
“I’m not telling you ‘Roku!” She stuck her tongue out at him and turned away.
“Aww, come on Kags, tell me!” She shook her head as a faint smile broke out on her face. He quietly crept over to her, seeing as she couldn’t see him. He tackled her down and tickled her until her sides hurt from laughter.
“Miroku, fine, fine! I give! Just please stop it!” She pleaded to him between panting breaths. Once she finally got her breathing on its normal track, she decided to go with her word. “Miroku, I love-” her ‘mother’, deciding to take this chance to come into the room, cut her off.
“Kagome, you have….Oh dear…” She didn’t like the scene before her, but chose to ignore it. The two teens, upon noticing the compromising position they were in, quickly scrambled apart blushing deeply. “As I was saying dear, you have a phone call." She left the phone on the floor and closed the door behind her. Kagome, still blushing, walked over to the phone and put it up to her ear.
“Hello?” She answered uncertainly. “Okay…Yeah, I’ll be there in a few minutes.” A sad look darkened her features. Miroku frowned. ‘Sadness does not fit her…’ Kagome pushed the ‘off’ button on the phone, setting it down on Shippou’s nightstand. She dumbly walked over to her bed and sat down. The boy looked at her worriedly.
“Kagome, what’s wrong?” He walked over to her and put his hand on her shoulder. She sniffled and wiped her eyes.
“Miroku, its Inuyasha. He said something horrible happens and he needs to see me. If I’m not back before morning, tell Emi it was an emergency!” With that she stood up and the left the room. In turn leaving the house and borrowing Katsu’s car.
Sorry about the shortness, but it seemed like an excellent ending point. Please review for a longer chapter next time. Thank you.
