Nonexistent Fairy Tale

Chapter 15

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or any of the characters.

So, the week flew by for Kagome. She loved the new arrangement of hers. It was as if her life never changed, only gotten better.

She was organizing her third of the room when her book of fairy tales fell down at her. Her father’s inscription immediately caught her attention…

‘My lovely daughter, I trust this book will lead you to dreams of greatness. You are my little princess…Remember that always. Those daring women in these tales are you. You will have your “happily ever after,” just as they have. Remember to keep the “pretty necklace” I gave you safe. Never let anyone have it. I love you forever and always.
-Daddy’

She knew what it said by heart now, and had no need to read it. She was about to pick the book up when Miroku entered the room carrying the phone.

“Kagome, phone’s for you.” He chucked it at her and left.

“Hello?…Yes…Oh, Hello Naraku…” Her features were filled with uncertainty. “…Sure…That sounds nice…See you later then. Okay…Bye…” She hung up the phone and wandered off to find Miroku.

“So, let me get this straight…You’re going to tutor Naraku?” She nodded.

“Apparently my name was on the list of tutors at school. Naraku needs a tutor. I can’t say ‘no’ to the poor ignoramus.” Miroku laughed.

“Alright. So, when’s he coming over?”

“Dunno. Sometime Thursday or Friday.”

“So…How’s Inuyasha?” The girl got a weird look on her face.

“He’s been surprisingly good. It’s like nothing bad ever happened.” A pensive look crossed her face. “He and Kikyou are together. Their relationship is great.” A blank stoic expression filled the space that once held thought. “Good things…He’s still spending time with us. Bad things…I think I’m losing my best friend.”

“Everything’s great Kikyou!” The girl addressed nodded her head as a sign of listening.

“I’m on good terms with Kags. Me and you are doing okay…Right?” He flicked his amber gaze towards the girl whose head was lying on his stomach.

“Yes, Inuyasha, we’re doing great.” His smile brightened.

“Awesome! And I have this awesome sword…”

“Inuyasha, I told you! That thing scares me…Put it away when I’m here.” His head hung as he shoved the sword under his bed.

‘Everything’s great…right? Right? I mean…I don’t know what I mean…’ He sighed and lay back on his bed.

“Oh, Inuyasha, I have to go now. I’ll see you at school tomorrow.” She stood up, leaned down, pecked him on the cheek, and left.

I realize that I got off plot a little. [Insert nervous laughter here] However, do not fear! All is back on track! [Insert cheesy smile] School is out! Yay! : ) My hair was purple…Now it’s light amber. O.O?
