Chapter 20

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha. I do not own Peter Pan. I do however own this title.

I was in a kids mood so yeah…I’m watching the movie Jersey Girl as I’m typing this. (I don’t own it either.)

Rin lay giggling on the floor after being tickled for near to an hour by the older boys. Souta and Kohaku had fallen laughing on both sides of her.

“Rin…Rin is hungry now!” Rin exclaimed through giggles. The boys nodded, helped her up, and lead the way to the kitchen.

“We’re following the leader, the leader, the leader, wherever he may go!” Rin broke out in song. “We’re off to fight the injins, the injins, the injins; we’re off to fight the injins because he told us so!”

“Oh Rin! That’s not how the song goes!” Kohaku complained.

“Well, how does it go!?” She demanded putting her hands on her hips.

“Uhh…I dunno…” He looked questioningly at Souta. “Do you know?” He shook his head.

“Okay…Well…Since you don’t know…We should go find someone who does!” Rin clapped her hands happily. “We can eat supper and then go on an adventure of trying to find someone who knows the Peter Pan song!”

Sesshomaru in a nearby room shook his head. “The things that amuse children.” He searched through songs on his computer. Finding the one he wanted he barely audibly sang along.

“John, you be the leader. I shall try to be worthy of my post. Forward march! Following the leader, the leader, the leader. We’re following the leader wherever he may go. Tee dum, tee dee, a teedly dum tee day. Tee dum, tee dee, its part of the game we play. Tee dum, tee dee, the words are easy to say. So a teedly dum a teedly do tee day. Oh tee do tee dee a teedly do tee dah. And one for all something…We march in line and follow the other one, oh a teedly do a teedly dah tee dah.” He went into whistling along with the whistling part, completely losing himself in the song. “Following the leader, the leader, the leader. We’re following the leader wherever he may go. We’re off to fight the injins the injins the injins. We’re off to fight the injins because he told us so. Teed dum tee dee a teedly do tee day. We march, along, and these are the words we say. Tee dum tee dee a teedly deedly day. Oh a teedly dum a teedly do tee day. Oh a teedly do a teedly dum tee day.” His eyes widened in horror as he saw Rin, Kohaku, and Souta staring wide-eyed and suppressing laughter.

“Daddy!!” She ran to him and threw her arms around him. “Daddy you know the song! Do it again! Do it again!” He threw a glare at the boys causing them to shift their gazes nervously.

“Rin. You will never hear this Sesshomaru sing that song. In fact, it never happened.” He tried to stare her down, but she would have none of it.

“Daddy!! I heard you singing it! Souta and Kohaku did too! Didn’t you!?” She glanced at them to see their eyes wide and their heads shaking. “Didn’t you!!” She made it more of a demand and jumped down putting her hands on her hips. They stuttered before claiming they were leaving and high-tailed it out of there.

“Daddy! You scared my friends away!” Rin turned around with tears in her eyes.

“Rin, don’t cry.”

“Why not?” Tears spilled down her cheeks and plopped on her shirt.

“Because, a pretty little girl like you shouldn’t cry.” He placed a kiss on the top of her head before leaving the room.

The little girl touched the top of her head and she giggled. “I love you too Daddy…” She whispered before running after him.

Days later, on a Sunday, Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, and Shippou, Emi, Katsu, Kouga, Souta, and Kohaku all sat in Kagome’s room. Miroku was in a wheelchair, and had those IV’s and things, as he was still recovering.

Emi was weeping and clutching onto Shippou tightly. Katsu had his arms around her comfortingly and Miroku sat to the side giggling like a little girl.

“Miroku! Dear god! What are you laughing at!?” Sango fixed a glare on him.

“Wellllll….Saaaangooo…Hee-hee…I don’ knoooooww….Hee-hee…” He broke out in a fit of more giggles before Sango sighed and shook her head. “Whatever are we going to do with you?”

“Well…For staaarters….You could tell me when you got a twin…” Miroku tried to focus his vision in the direction of his girlfriend.

“I’ll take you back to your room. Seems like ya need some rest. Keep me posted?” She looked unsurely at everyone. Katsu nodded and ushered them out of the room.

“We’ll be in to check on Miroku before we leave.” She nodded and wheeled the giggling boy out of the room.

“Gooooodbyyyee!! I loooove you allll!” Sango smacked him upside the head and closed the door behind them.

Hours later a half hour before closing time Emi and Katsu decided it was time to leave.

“Okay. Shippou, dear it’s passed your bedtime.” He yawned and grumpily said he wasn’t tired. She smiled warmly at him. “Say goodbye to Kagome so we can be on our way. Do you need a ride home, Inuyasha, Kouga? What about you two boys?”

“It’s okay; we’re going home with Sango.” Kohaku smiled politely at the lady before leaving the room in search of his sister with Souta in tow.

Shippou hopped onto the hospital bed, with help from Katsu, since he is so short, and hugged his sister tightly around the neck.

“I love you sissy…Wake up for me…Please…” He gave her a big slobbery little kid type kiss on the cheek.

“Come on sweetie, let’s go.” She ushered the little boy towards the door. She turned back to look at the hanyou. “Are you sure you don’t need a ride?” The both shook their heads, their gazes never leaving the girl lying in the hospital bed.

“Okay…Goodbye Inuyasha…Kouga…Get well Kagome…” She swept her family out of the room and closed the door quietly behind her. ‘Get well, my dear. I don’t think those poor boys would make it without you…’

Back inside the room, the hanyou felt tears rising to his eyes. He furiously wiped at his eyes, too stubborn to shed tears.

Kouga walked up to her bedside and tenderly touched her cheek. “Kagome…Please wake up. I miss you…” He made his voice sound almost pleading in hopes that it would make her wake up. He kissed her lips and looked at her unopened eyelids. He sighed, seeing he had failed to wake her, and walked towards the door. He stopped with his hand on the knob. “Touch her and die mutt face.” He quickly opened the door and shut it behind him.

The hanyou let his face drop to his hands. He looked at the floor as he felt his eyes watering, not letting the tears fall.

“Damnit Kagome! Wake up! I know Kikyou shot you with a purifying arrow…But you’re a miko too! You should be able to recover damnit!” His voice cracked and was almost whining sounding. He stood up and walked to her side. “Please Kagome. I need you. I need my best friend.” He kissed her forehead and reluctantly left as the intercom claimed that visiting hours were over.

Her eyes flickered open once everyone had left. She bit her bottom lip nervously. She had been unconscious, true. That didn’t mean that she didn’t know what went on around her.

She had been able to hear and feel every thing around her. She just couldn’t open her eyes. It was as if she was in a world of black. That’s all she could see. When she had finally pulled up the energy to open her eyes, she hadn’t dared. She didn’t want everyone to freak out. She thought she’d let them believe she woke up over night.

‘Well…This way I now know how much everyone loves me…’ She laughed to herself and sat up. ‘Guess I might as well visit Miroku…’

“Kagome!!!!” Miroku seemed to be more like himself, although still a little disoriented from the medicine. “Kagome, are you oookaaayy?” He said this a little too loudly, making the poor girl wince from the loudness.

“Miroku!” She hissed at him, narrowing her eyes. “Will you shut up!” She glared him down before moving towards his bed. “Don’t tell anyone I woke up…I wouldn’t want them freaking out about me.” He seemed to sober up.

“Wouldn’t that be better than them worrying over you?” He sat up to talk better. She sat at the foot of his bed and sighed.

“I don’t know…” She ran her hands through her hair and grimaced. “I need my own shampoo!” She and Miroku laughed uneasily. “Are they really that worried about me?” She flicked her brown orbs up at him. He flung his arms around her neck, surprising her, and pulled her into a tight hug.

“Yes…Everyone’s been worried about you! You know none of us can go by without your insistent cheerfulness!” She laughed and returned his hug.

“But are you okay? I mean you did get shot with more arrows than I did!” Her brown eyes filled with concern for her ‘brother’.

“I’m fine! She just shot normal arrows at me! They didn’t hit anything major! Just my shoulder, arm, and one nicked my neck. I’m fine.” He reassured the girl. “Now, go get some rest. You’re going to need it when they all get a hold of you tomorrow.” His violet eyes shined with tears. He was just so happy that she finally woke up.

“Kagome, you’re like a real sister to me…I love you!” He pulled her into a final hug before shooing her out of the room.

“G’night Miroku! I love you too!”

She fell asleep that night with dreams of Kouga and Inuyasha floating in her mind.

So how was that? Horrible? Review!!!!!!

I feel like a little kid! Hee-hee! I’m so happy that my brother’s home!
