Chapter two:

It said four words, and just four words.
“Nineteen days, pure one.”
She felt the light leave her body completely, and her head was swarming with lightness, she could tell that her vision was becoming blurry, and her body starting to sway lightly. She felt her arms drop to her side. It seemed like everything was slowed almost to a stop. The letter falling from her hands, hearing the paper sprawl out on the floor as her knees started to give. Her body swayed as she started to fall to the ground. She couldn’t lift her arms, them seemed to be asleep. She didn’t feel the pain when she fell roughly on her side her head hitting the stone floor with a thud as her eyes drifted closed, to go into unawareness.
~~~~
“Baby, wake up.” She heard a familiar voice whisper to her and felt they person’s breath on her ear. Where was she? Why am I so tired? Who are you? It’s warm here. She thought as her eyes tried to open and blink away the fogginess.
“Wh... where am I?” She heard herself ask, in a barely abdicable weak voice.
~~~~
Sesshomaru heard her question barely with his heighten senses and his ear right next to her mouth. “You’re in your bed.”
“Wh..What....w...why?” She asked with fear in her voice as she tried to sit up more, but with his head resting on her shoulder as he held her up leaning in front of her, she couldn’t move. He slowly lowered her back down to her bed, and leaned back to look into her slightly scared eyes.
“You passed out in the throne room... They found this on the floor close by.” He said holding up the parchment crumpled slightly in his hand. “What does nineteen days mean?” He asked slowly.
“I don’t know. I..I was just opening a letter and it glowed and my body and dropped it and fell.” She said in a rushed voice disconnectedly.
“Shh... slow down, now tell me slowly.... what happened.” Sesshomaru said rubbing her shoulder with his right arm as he sat in front of her and to the side on the bed.
“I opened the letter, and it started to glow a grayish color and then it shot at me and I could feel it spreading through my body, but it went away, and then I read the paper, and then I felt myself get lightheaded and weak and my arms went heavy and I dropped the parchment and I fell, and now I’m here.” She explained staring into his big, beautiful golden eyes that were filled with concern and love. She smiled quaintly at discovering this, trying to ease his heavy heart. “But I still feel a little lightheaded, and dizzy.” She explained resting her head back against her big pillows propping her up.
“Are you sure you didn’t dream this?”
“OF COURSE I DIDN’T ” She yelled at him shooting up in her bed, then fell back down, becoming so dizzy she couldn’t see straight.
“Ok, just asking wench, care yourself ” He angrily spat back. They both glared at each other for a minute, before Kagome couldn’t stand his angry stare and looked away.
“Sorry.” She mumbled. She felt him stand, and turned to watch as he put back on his stoic mask and walked to her door opening it and walking out closing it promptly behind him.
~~~~
Souta, Helen, and the doctor were standing in the hall as Sesshomaru stepped out, looking to him with hopeful eyes. “How is she?” Souta asked, Sesshomaru wouldn’t let anyone in her room to see her other than the doctor, and while he was in there he was watching from the doorway the whole time.
“She’s awake, and is a little lightheaded. You can go in and check on her.” He motioned for the doctor. The doctor quickly passed by the tall warrior and Lord, pushing open the door and closing it behind him. Sesshomaru glanced as the doctor closed the door with a snap, then back to Souta and his wench of a wife. He knew Kagome felt uneasy around the foreign woman, and wasn’t very friendly with her, and if she made Kagome uneasy, it made Sesshomaru really uneasy. Kagome was to trust worthy, even after everything she’d been through, she still was so easily trusting.
“What happened?” Souta asked concern in his eyes as Helen just had an empty gaze.
“The parchment was some sort of dark magic or something to that effect.”
“What did it do?”
“I am not a sorcerer, how would I know?” Sesshomaru said blankly. As he walked away down the hallway his clothes billowing behind him.
~~~~
Kagome saw the royal doctor come in and smiled at the old man, she had known him her whole life, always treating hr accidents that she tended to get quite often as a child, even into her teenage years. “Hello.”
The old man smiled at her friendly manners as usual, so full of happiness lighting up any room she walked into and all the people in it. “Hello, my dear.” He said putting down his bag at the foot of her bead, as he walked over to her and took her hand, smiling at her. He couldn’t for the life of him figure out why this angel of happiness and purity would want to marry that man so full of hate and so tainted by his past. “How do you feel?”
“A little dizzy, but other than that fine, and you?” Se asked cheerfully.
“Just fine my girl.” He laughed, she always thought of others before herself, unlike that demon she was marrying. “Lord Sesshomaru said to check up on you... so cold that man.” He said good heartily, he knew she wouldn’t be mad at him for saying what everyone else thought.
“Really? He’s not to me.” She said smiling. She knew how Sesshomaru treated other people, he would put on his emotionless mask and look down upon them, turning his nose up and acting like he was the king of the world and they were just ants, to be crushed under his boot.
“I’d hope not child.” The doctor said shifting his hand on her wrist counting her pulse, he then made her open her eyes real wide to make sure they were ok. He made her use her pointer finger to touch her nose and his finger a foot or so away as fast as she could and a few other drills to make sure she was fine. “He seems to... warm up when you are around, my lady, which is a good thing, if he always acted like the way he does to me to you, then I don’t think you’d love him, and for you to love him there has to be some warmth and kindness in his heart.... I hope.” Kagome giggled as he was checking her pulse again to be sure. Telling her this. “Well I believe that’s all my lady, unless there is something you are hiding from me.”
“I feel kinda... weird.” She started off slowly looking down at her entwined hands in her lap.
“Weird how so?”
“Well some kind of light went in me and I feel it, it doesn’t hurt or anything, but I feel it in my heart, like it’s just there, like it has always been.” She tried to explain.
“Well, my lady I am not that kind of doctor, but I will call a priest if necessary.” She nodded her agreement, she was a little concerned it was a strange feeling, like an empty space in her heart. She heard her door snap closed and looked up to see that the doctor left.

Sesshomaru was sitting in the war room, looking over all the maps, he was to visit a far away lands, they had sent a messager saying they wished an alliance with his lands, and even though he stayed here with Kagome he was still Lord of the Western Lands and had responsibilities to look after. He heard a knock. “Enter.” He said leaning against the table corners with his arms straight out peering down at the maps unrolled on the table. He saw the servant enter out of the corner of his eye, but didn’t look to him.
“Pardon, my lord, but the doctor finished his check on Queen Kagome and said she had nothing physically wrong with her, but did send a priest to her room, something about a strange feeling in her heart.” The servant said, a little shakily, many of her servants were like this, they knew who he was and were terrified of him in not in awe. Usually he enjoyed how the servants shook in his presence, bu this was about Kagome. He nodded and heard the servant leave closing the door behind him. Sesshomaru stood up straight rolling back up the three maps he was using putting them back on the shelf that held them to the left and left the room, following the halls until he came to the royal bed chambers. He took two rights and a left, and saw at the end of the hallway, Souta, Helen, and Miroku talking outside Kagome’s door. They just had to send the perverse priest. He slowly and gracefully as always made his way to them, until he stood in front of them. They all turned to stare up at his tall figure, Miroku and Souta only an inch or two shorter.
“Have you been in to see her yet?” Sesshomaru said dully looking to the priest who met his gaze bravely, but was having trouble holding it.
“No, I thought you’d be mad, and that I’d wait until you could accompany me in.” Miroku said, without showing any fear.
“Very well.” Sesshomaru said and walked past them opening one of the large double doors stepping in and leave the door open signaling for the monk to follow. Miroku did cautiously. Sesshomaru stood by her bedside, as Miroku came over to the other side of it, closer to where Kagome sat. She looked to him and smiled.
“Hello Miroku.” She said politely.
“Hello my lady, the doctor sent me, tell me about this feeling you have.” He said taking a seat at the edge of the bed much to Sesshomaru’s annoyance, but Sesshomaru didn’t voice it, didn’t even growl, but if the priest were to move any closer he’d cut off that hand.
Kagome uncertainly looked back at Sesshomaru for a minute, he nodded signaling her to go ahead. She didn’t want tot worry Sesshomaru that’s why she didn’t tell him about the feeling in the first place. She then looked back at Miroku who met her gaze with his slightly worried and professional one. He knew this wasn’t the time to joke and play, or be perverted.
“It’s in my heart, like an empty spot, it doesn’t hurt and doesn’t feel good, it’s just... there. But it worries me. I think it was from the glow of the parchment I received earlier.”
“Yes I was told of the letter, and it said, ‘nineteen days, pure one?’” He asked looking up to remember what the doctor said. She nodded. “Not to worry Kagome, but I will have to, with your permission of course, sort enter your body.” Miroku said, that was all it took, Sesshomaru leaped over the bed, grabbing the priest by the throat shoving him against the wall, by his neck lifting him a few inches from the floor. Miroku was struggling for breath, his face turning blue as he tried to claw at Sesshomaru’s hands.
“SESSHOMARU ” Kagome yelled standing up on her bed, she was still so dizzy and was afraid to walk, while she was terrified for her young monk friend. “Miroku didn’t mean it in a perverse way....I don’t think, he knows this is a serious time Sesshomaru release him at once ” She screamed at her fiancee, but Sesshomaru just clenched his hand around his throat tighter. Miroku tried to nod his head, trying to signal what Kagome said was true, but with the lack of air to his brain and the hand around his throat it was very difficult. “Sesshomaru you let him down.... if you kill him.... I... I’ll never speak to you again ” She yelled falling to her knees from the dizziness, lucky that she was standing on her bed, the softness of it broke her fall, wish she could say the same for the monk. Sesshomaru heard what she said, Miroku watched as his hate filled lust killing eyes, turned soft and saddened at Kagome’s words. He slowly lowered him back to the ground not relinquishing his hold of him then slowly let go as Miroku crumpled to the floor in a big heap, gasping for air. Sesshomaru stepped away from the monk, and back until he hit the bed, slowly turning around as he heard Kagome fall onto it a moment ago. He slowly turned to see Kagome laying there sprawled out on her bed with only under garments on as he undressed her down to them when he carried her from the throne room before. She lay there not moving eyes closed, her chest didn’t even move with breath. Sesshomaru grew instantly terrified as her fully flipped Kagome on her back, and sat by her, shaking her to wake up. EH knew nothing of health tactics, only of killing.
“Monk ” He could still hear Miroku coughing, not noticing Kagome’s distress. “MONK ” Miroku slowly sat up looking to him with terrified eyes, but Sesshomaru was staring down at his fiancee’s unconscious form still lightly shaking her. “Come help ” He roared as he glanced at the monk who just stared on. Miroku got up as quickly as his still struggling body allowed him, and ran the few steps to his Queen’s bed. He lightly pushed Sesshomaru out of the way, more asking without words than pushing, which surprisingly Sesshomaru jumped out of the way to stand a foot or so from the bed, to watch as the monk worked. Miroku checked her vitals, she was breathing, but it was very sparse. Her heart beat was all out of wack, he helped by pushing lightly on her chest getting her to breath in deeper until she was having steady breaths. Her heart beat calmed slightly as her breathing did, but it was still very fast, but at least in a rhythm. It was like she was scared, but of what, was she hallucinating? HE needed to enter her body still, he didn’t mean like it sounded his spirit was to enter her body to walk through her mind and heart to find out what was the matter.
“Sesshomaru, I am to enter her mind, If neither of us is awake in half hour’s time splash water on our bodies, but get to Lady Kagome’s first. He saw Sesshomaru’s light nod, the demon was calmer now, having his emotionless mask on, except for his eyes that were full of worry, and fright for his fiancee and love. Miroku rested Kagome’s head in his lap as he rubbed her temples in slow smoothing strokes, chanting a prayer/spell quietly, closing his own eyes, he felt his spirit separate from his soul and start to gather in his chest, getting ready to leave his body. He saw his inner glow of a dark bluish/purple light, as he dissipated from his body, then everything became dark as his limbs became heavy and he fell into a dark deep sleep.
