Nothing Left

Chapter One

Humming to herself, Kagome walked through the park. It was a cool autumn night and her long raven hair swayed in the soft breeze. It all seemed so perfect. It was so hard to believe far from here her hanyou was fighting in a war. He hadn't written in awhile. He was fine though. He promised he would come back to her.

 

She brought her hand to her lips, remembering the kiss he had given her a couple of months ago. It was a while ago but she remembered it so perfectly. What she would give right now to hold him in her arms and tell him how much she missed him. Ever since he left she was usually caught staring into space and didn't pay much attention to anything. Her friends knew immediately something was wrong.

 

“Hey Kagome,” A young man called from behind her. Soon he appeared beside her. “Mind if I walk with ya?” He was handsome and had, what seemed like, a perfect face. He had long hair tied back into a high ponytail. Kagome turned her attention to him.

 

“Oh,” She gave a slight smile. “Hey Kouga. Of course you can.”

 

“Thanks,” He gave her a boyish grin and turned his gaze to the sky. “Nice night.” She nodded though she hadn't really heard what he said. She was lost in thought with Inuyasha again. She could picture their reunion. It would be perfect.

 

“Hey Kagome…I was wondering if you would like to go out Saturday?” Kouga finally raised enough courage to ask.

 

“Mhm.” She answered again not really hearing what he had said.

 

“GREAT! I will pick you up at eight. See ya then!” He said and turned walking in a different direction.

 

Kagome made it to her house and walked in. It was completely dark so she switched the light switch on and looked around. A soft sigh escaped her lips and she traveled up the stairs to her room. She sat down on her bed and grabbed her photo album.

 

She opened it and flipped through the pages until she found her favorite picture. It was of her and Inuyasha at Holiday World giving the camera the peace sign. She took the picture out and hugged it to her chest. “Come home, Inuyasha…” She muttered to herself. “I miss you…” With that silent tears began to fall from her chocolate hues and she lay down and cried herself to sleep.
