Chapter 12: Preparing
Rin and Sango nagged and nagged at Kagome until she finally agreed to come with camping. “Are you sure about this I don’t want to feel like a burden? I mean you guys will want to spend the time with your boyfriends. It might just be a better idea if I stay here and find something to do for spring break.” “NO!” Yelled Rin and Sango. Kagome eyed them suspiciously. They were up to something. “What Rin and I mean Kagome is that we really want you to come with us. It’s been a while since the three of us did something together. Granted the guys will be there but we will spend most the time with you and just have fun.” “Yea so plleeaasse Kag. We really want you to come.” Rin said giving Kagome the puppy face. “Fine fine i’ll go. But just so you know I think you two are up to something.” “Who us?” They both replied innocently. “Yes you and just so you know that if it is something that turns out to be unpleasant, just remember pay back is a bitch.” With that she turned and headed downstairs.
Sesshoumaru and Miroku were having an equal amount of trouble trying to get Inuyasha to agree to come. “You guys I just don’t want to go,” Inuyasha whined. “Besides what are you guys going on a camping trip for? We don’t know anything about camping or outdoors stuff.” “We know enough.” Replied Sesshoumaru. “Who knows you might met a pretty girl along the way.” But I don't want just some girl, I want Kagome. Thought Inuyasha. As if reading his mind Miroku added. “Would it help matters if we said that Kagome would be going?” Inside Inuyasha was jumping for joy but he wouldn’t let them know it. “Feh, why would I want to go camping with that bitch?” “Come on little brother do you really think that we haven’t notice that you like her? You practically stare a hole through her and drool all over yourself when she is around.” Inuyasha just crossed his arms and turned his back to them. “Humph. I do not and don’t call me little brother you’re only a few months older.” “So are you coming or not?” “Yea yea fine but if something bad happens I will not be to blamed for it.” Miroku just rolled his eyes. “Inuyasha you are missing out on a golden opportunity here. Please don’t make an ass out of yourself or us. Think of it as your chance to get Kagome to like you. Think of it like this you get to spend an entire week with a gorgeous girl sleeping in your tent.” “WHAT? What do you mean sleeping in my tent?” “Well you certainly aren’t sleeping in Sango and my tent. I don't think that Sesshoumaru and Rin wish to share so you and Kagome will be sharing.” “But but..” “No buts little brother we only had enough money for three tents. You two will be sharing and you will be nice to her. Is that understood?” Sesshoumaru said in a tone not to be argued with. “Fine.” “Good now start packing your clothes we leave tomorrow.”
Inuyasha stomped upstairs to pack. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. It would give him the chance to get Kagome to forgive him and maybe get her to like him. Inuyasha grinned. Yes this could work I just have to not piss her off. He winced. How was he going to do that? He pissed her off just by looking at him. He wasn’t about to stoup to being all sweet and nice for her. Even though he liked her it just was how he was. He sighed this certainly wasn’t going to be easy. What had surprised him was that Sesshoumaru and Miroku knew that he liked her. He frowned he didn’t think that he was very obvious about it. Was he that transparent? Then why didn’t she know he like her? Well duh you idiot she never pays attention to you. What if this didn’t work and it just ended up making her hate him more? He didn’t like the idea of that.
As he packed his clothes and things he needed for the trip, he was trying to think of things to do to get her to like him. Then he thought of something. Shit He ran to Sesshoumaru and banged on the door. His brother answered with an annoyed look on his face. “What are you bothering me for shouldn’t you be packing.” “She doesn’t know I’m going does she?” “No she doesn’t.” “Then how do ya'll know she will even still go when she finds out I'm going?” “Rin and Sango said that she would still go, when I asked them the same question. Don’t worry about it Inuyasha. All you need to worry about is getting along with her.” “Feh”
Rin and Sango helped the boys pack everything into the cars for the trip. The plan was to leave really early in the morning. They hoped that Kagome would be to tired to really register that Inuyasha was coming along. She wasn’t really a morning person and never took notice of her surroundings until she had full awoke. Rin shuttered when she thought of all the things Kagome would do to get them back. Oh well it was too late to back out now and it was for the best.
The only thing they had left to pack was Kagome’s bag but they would pack it in in the morning. They girls said their goodbyes to the guys and they promised to be up and ready by the time they got there. Hopefully everything would go off as planned with no problems. The trip would only take an hour or two to get to the campsite. Rin and Sango had found the place after scooting the area with the guys after they came up with the idea. It was in a near by national park. They made sure to pack enough food for the week and the necessities they would need. Even if the boys didn’t know that much about camping, the girls did. They used to go camping every year in their hometown. Plus the weather was great. There wasn’t supposed to be any rain and it was going to be hot enough to go swimming.

“Come on Kagome get dressed the guys are waiting downstairs.” Rin had been trying to get her out of bed for the last 10 minutes with no luck. “Too early let me sleep a little while longer.” Kagome whined. “No you can sleep on the way there. If you don’t want me to pure cold water on you you better get up NOW!” “Fine fine I'm up are you happy now?” “Very” Rin said skipping out of the room. Kagome got up and got dressed. She wore a pair of hip hugger bell-bottom jeans and a light blue spagettii strap shirt with a picture of a devil/angel girl on the front. “Hey do I at least get to eat before we go?” She yelled downstairs. “You can grab some pop tarts on the way out now come on.” Kagome threw on her black hiking boots and headed downstairs. “I thought you said the guys are here?” “They are. They’re just making a last check on supplies to make sure we have everything.” “O.k. let me go grab my bag and ill be ready.” When Kagome left the room Sango turned to Rin. “Rin she looks very awake to me. I don’t think she will over look Inuyasha being here.” “Yea but all we can do is pray that she doesn’t make a fuss.”
When Kagome came back down with her pack, they headed out the door. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Inuyasha was there. “What is he doing here?” She hissed at the girls. The two girls looked up sheepishly. “Please don’t be mad Kagome.” “Why would I be mad when my cousins tricked me into going camping with a jackass?” Sango stood up straight and looked her directly in the eye. “Now you listen here Kagome.” She scolded in a motherly tone. “You will not ruin our trip because you wish to be a bitch. Inuyasha has agreed to behave and you will to. Is that understood?” “And besides we know you like him and this is an excellent way to get to know him.” Kagome eyed the two girls with a glare. “You planned this didn’t you?” Rin and Sango just smiled at her then headed for the cars. “Come on slow poke!” Rin yelled back to her. Kagome just rolled her eyes and followed them. She was definitely going to pay them back for this one.
Inuyasha had been too busy to notice the girls come out of the house. When he heard Rin yell for someone to hurry up, he looked up and saw Kagome coming down the steps of the house. Gods she's beautiful he thought. Then he noticed she didn’t look too happy. Probably because i'm going. He had already promised to behave, and was starting to look forward to the trip. “Ok Kagome you will be riding with Inuyasha.” “WHAT?” Both yelled. “Calmed down its not the end of the world you two, besides you to need to work things out before we get there. I don’t want to have to beat the shit out of you two for fighting, but I will.” Sango said. “Fine.” Kagome rolled her eyes and turned toward the car. She finally got a good look at what he was wearing. He had on a pair of baggy blue jeans and white undershirt with a black shirt button up shirt over it. He had left the black shirt un-buttoned and the undershirt was so tight she could see the outline of his chest and abs. Oh god what a body she thought. She turned her head quickly away so he didn’t see her blush. This is going to be one long week!
