Ch.1: cherry blossoms

she walked along the cherry-blossom covered side walk. She remembered this place well. When she
was a teen and going through hard times she always came here. She picked up one of the cherry
blossoms off the side walk. Let it flow in the wind. Her mother loved cherry blossoms. That was
about the only thing she could remember of her mother. Well that and she had long raven black hair.
And was the most beautiful person she had ever seen. A lot of kids think that when they're young.
But she was the most beautiful person many had seen. But one day all her beauty shattered. Kagome
never knew why. That's where all her memories in japan stopped. She didn't recall any other
memories. She had been brought here. To the united states of America. In the state of Washington
D.C. she looked up as she neared the capitol building. Admiring its appearance.
Strong, beautiful, proud. How can a building be proud? Proud in the way it was built.
She had forgotten how much she really did miss this place. A tear flowed freely down her cheek.
She whipped it away, in a blink of an eye. She looked up towards the sky and silently prayed.
She watched as birds flew around her.
And the cherry blossom trees shook with the wind sending many blossom flowers her way.
She reached out and caught one. Admiring its beauty before setting it free with the wind.
She shook her head disapprovingly at her self. She was supposed to be working on a
homicide case, not running around in a cherry blossom grove by the nations capital.
She sighed, more to herself than any once else.
She walked back to her car. It was a white mustang convertible with a horse on each side that slowly
faded out like it was running as fast as the wind. She got in and buckled her seat belt.
She looked at her watch.
"Shit....ok I have 30 minutes to get there....DANG IT!" kagome scolded her self for going to
her favorite/special spot.
She checked her rear view mirror to see the all clear. She got it. She pulled into reverse,
out of the parking slot, and drove off towards the funeral home.
~~~~~~ 23 minutes later ~~~~
kagome pulled into one of the many parking slots. She checked her hair, and made a few
adjustments to it. Finally deciding she looked decent enough, she walked up the steps and into the
funeral home.
She walked into a waiting room. Then she went to the main desk.
"Hi, umm I am looking for the 'tucker' family, please?" she asked nicely.
The lady look kagome up and down. Then in a really rude voice she replied.
"Family only" this got kagome a little aggregated.
She reached into her back pocket and pulled out a wallet. The 'lady' at the front desk raised an
eyebrow.
Kagome just flopped it open to reveal a badge.
"Special detective higurashi kagome" kagome stated then continued in a
annoyed tone "do you have a problem with me doing my job?" the lady at the desk shook her head.
"Well, guess what? My job right now is too talk to the tucker family to get some information, now
do I need to call down my colleagues or is this situation O.K?"
"That won't be necessary ms. Higurashi."
