Inu Yasha slowly began backing away as Sesshoumaru advanced toward him. `Great. Just the kind of trouble I need' he thought as he stopped inches behind the door.

"Rin, stay here, I will speak to my brother outside," Sesshoumaru commanded as he stepped outside the door and closed it firmly behind him. "What do you want?" he gritted through his clenched teeth. He was mad. REALLY mad.

"Well brother," Inu Yasha continued as if nothing was wrong, "I've decided to join the company."

Sesshoumaru just stared with one cocked eyebrow. "Why?" he asked plainly. He really didn't care why. It was the thought of having to share the company with his immature brother was what bothered him. But his father wanted this, so he wouldn't object.

"That would be none of your business," Inu Yasha stated. "I simply want the job without having to deal with your hell every morning." That's it, I'm in for it now, he thought. Sesshoumaru has an ass kicking attitude and I'll probably be the first to get the full blow.

"You start tomorrow," Sesshoumaru replied simply as he walked back into his office, shutting the door behind him. He left Inu Yasha staring at him with opened jaw.

Kagome hummed as she walked into the two-bedroom apartment she shared with Inu Yasha. They had been going out for almost 2 years and were very happy with their relationship; so happy, that they had already moved their relationship up to the next level. Of course, they slept in the same room together so the second room was just there for any guests they might have.

As she began taking the food out of its container, Kagome couldn't help but glance at the tiny picture of her family on the counter. It was a picture of her mom, her little brother Souta, and her father standing in front of their shrine in Japan. Slowly, tears began falling as Kagome began recalling painful memories from her past.

FLASHBACK:

A nineteen-year-old Kagome happily drove down the road toward her family's shrine. She couldn't wait to get home and tell her family the exciting news. It was a beautiful day in Japan and she was driving back from her college. I hope they get just excited as I am, she thought to herself. Inu Yasha sure was. She had just found out the big news yesterday and had hurriedly told her boyfriend whom she had been dating for about 6 months. Boy had he been surprised. He had yelled, "WHAT THE F***!" out so loud that everyone in their college building had heard. Of course, he was just as happy as she was.

As Kagome ran up the steps toward her family's home, her brother Souta came flying into her arms.

"Kagome!!!! I missed you so much!" he cried out. It had been a few weeks since Kagome had visited her family and she had missed them just as much.

"Hey kiddo," she greeted him, ruffling his hair. "Let's go inside." Hand in hand, brother and sister walked inside.

Kagome was greeted with a long hug from her mother and a nod of approval from her father. She didn't expect much from him. He was the type of father who cuddled with his children and hugged them when they cried. That was her mother's type. Her father had always been strict and emotionless. He was very well respected in their town and everyone knew him by name.

This is it, Kagome thought to herself. I have to tell them. It's either now or never. Slowly she turned from her mother's embrace to face her family.

"Mom, dad, Souta, I have something very important to tell you. But before I do, I have to ask you something. Whatever happens, please don't be mad at me. I know it'll come as a shock to you and it came as a shock for me too, but I want this. I'm very happy for myself and hopefully you'll be too."

"What is it, Kagome?" her mother asked urgently. Her brother looked anxious, as if waiting for an early Christmas present. Her dad, as usual, stood emotionless.

Kagome took a deep breath and whispered very softly, "I'm pregnant."
