“Kagome what are you doing?”

“I'm doing the disclaimer, duh.”

“Sure. But what's a disclaimer.”

“It's the thing people put in front of their fanfics so that people know they don't own Inuyasha.”

“Oh. Nakada doesn't own us.”

“Who are you talking to?”

Inuyasha just looked at her. Never had someone talked to him like that. Wow, that made an impact on him.

`Kami, just look at her. She's so beautiful. She kinda looks like Kikyo, except her eyes. She has prettier eyes'

He blinked again, focusing on reality again and her.

 

“It's Inuyasha.”

 

“What?”

 

“I'm Inuyasha.” he said again. She blushed, smiling slightly. Uplifted by her change of mood he introduced the gang “That's Sango, as smart as she is strong. Watch out cause she'll hit you if you say something wrong. Ow” Sango hit him on the back of the head. She was wearing a three quarters, semi-see through, baby pink top with a black cami underneath and blue jeans. “That's Miroku” he continued, “perverted all the way through”

 

Miroku's response was simply “I resent that statement”

 

Inuyasha went on still “Yeah well, he's Sango's and has a heart of gold and other crap like that. Kay, so that runts Shippo and his girl Kilala. That idiot over there's Koga and Kikyo” Shippo was in a green long sleeve and jean shorts and Kilala was in a brown tank, black pants that had chains on them. Both were demons, though, like Inuyasha. Koga sported a black tank and basketball shorts in navy and Kikyo a white T and cap a red shorts.

 

Kagome noticed that Inuyasha didn't say anything about Kikyo. `I bet they broke up once' she thought eyeing Kikyo carefully.

 

“That's Nakada, Ereka, and Atoka” he said pointing at three girls' in turn. Nakada had long raven black hair. She was the only one with dark skin apart for another boy. She was wearing a white tube top, a happy bunny hat and white jean shorts. The other two were twins with blonde hair in pigtails wearing t shirts and capris.

 

“And those three jokers are Aaron,” the other dark kid with black large T and jeans, “Sono” A brown haired boy in black shorts and white tank top “and Scar.” Inuyasha finished finally. Scar wore a tie like a headband. His green T said “Don't get me started girl” and he had on jeans with a whole over the knee.

“Hi” said Kagome sweetly. `I'm no closer to finding the office. But at least I've got someone to sit with.'

 

Unlike most groups they responded with smiles, nods, “What's up”s and “Hi”s. It seemed if she had Inuyasha on her side the others would immediately accept her. He was like some kind of big test. They were an odd grouping, she had to admit.

 

“I'm gonna take Kagome to the offices, Kay?” He seemed to say it more of a statement than a questions. They all just nodded as if to say “Kay, what ever” But really they were interested to know why Inuyasha had pulled her in. This happened with every new member, from Shippo on.

 

“Hold on tight” He said to her before she could say anything. He had picked her up and jumped.

 

“Oh my gawd!” Kagome screeched loudly.

 

Back On the ground

 

“Hmm” said Miroku

“I wonder why…” started Ereka.

“…he's taken her in” finished Atoka.

Sango looked worriedly over at the pair saying “He doesn't normally jump so high. Can he land okay?”

Miroku gave her a small squeeze around the waist “He's just showing off. But I'm sure he can land from there” He moved his hand to her butt and gave it a small pinch. Sango slapped him, hard.

“Hands off monk.” She said, standing over him. He had fallen from the force of her slap.

“Don't worry Sango” Aaron said to her “Look they're already landing”

Everyone looked over. Sure enough Inuyasha was landing gracefully with the girl in his arms.

 

Back with Inuyasha

 

“A little warning please” said a shaken but pleased Kagome.

“Tch. No problem” Inuyasha said reverting to his old self. He put her down, brushing his hand against her back.

In his head he screamed `Kami, kami, kami!”

She blushed at his light touch. Just as she saw the rest of the group turn towards the dorm, Inuyasha fell flat on his face. `Oh shit' he thought.

She didn't laugh at him she just offered her hand to him saying “Smooth, touchdown”

Inuyasha came up blushing but said in good spirits “Thanks a lot, Kagome”

Kagome looked around. She was standing next to a large white building. It was made out of stones and looked old. Old except the kids on campus were allowed to paint it so it had all sorts of symbols and abstract art on it. Some people had made hearts with initials on it. One read “I+K”. Seeing her look at it, he blushed but thought “What am I blushing for? What does it matter if she sees it?”

“C'mon, I wanna get you back to Lemon so I can get back” he said impatiently.

“What ever” She said crushed.

They walked into the building together. The room they were in seemed to be decorated by students as well. Most was done quickly, all most like it was done in spare time. A bunch of multicolored chairs turned at artistic angles hit the eye, clashing with simple black carpet. At the back of the room there was a windowed office. A boy not much older than them sat in the office listening to something. He was probably Lemon, for a good reason. He was wearing all yellow, from what she could see of him. A yellow Abercrombie collared shirt with yellow chain necklace on, he was wearing shades inside and a yellow visor upside down.

“Yo, Lemon, we got a newbie” Inuyasha shouted over Lemon's music. He looked around at Inuyasha mildly.

“Sup, dude” he asked looking at Kagome, as best anyone could tell.

“Man, why you gotta always wear those shades” Inuyasha asked as a way of greeting. Eyeing him Kagome could tell he was a Big Man On Campus, a BMOC, so he got to say hi however he wanted and everyone knew what he was really saying.

“Same reason you can't keep your nose out” he barked back. Coded in there somewhere was:

“Hello. There's a new student here.”

“Oh, really? Good. How are you?”

“I'm carefree. I like you glasses. Inside is very cool.”

“Thank you for commenting”

But what normal person says that, certainly not these two. They continued like teenagers.

“You said newbie?” Lemon asked unconcerned. It covered up his curiosity about Inuyasha brought her himself.

“Dude, wake up!” Inuyasha said pointing at Kagome.

`Check her out.' thought Lemon. He became more businesslike “Full Name?” He asked.

Happy to be speaking again Kagome said “Higurashi, Kagome”

Turning to leave Inuyasha said “Here's a tip, Kagome. You gotta call the school GA. That's what everyone calls it.”

“Thanks Inuyasha” she said blushing.

Lemon continued in his mature working tone, recognizing this Inuyasha said “Don't you dare, Lemon. You know what happens”

Lemon cringed but continued asking Kagome for her information. But he lost some of his dignity doing it.

 

Later in Inuyasha's dorm

 

Every year the guys from the group got together in Inuyasha and Miroku's dorm. It was like a tradition. Missing it was like announcing you didn't want friends for the rest of your life, or a girlfriend for that matter.

 

Guys and girls went through Inuyasha. Because Inuyasha knew everyone he normally told other who they might like when he was asking. Not that that was exactly easy. That took a lot of kiss up or a personal relationship. Not asking was like eloping. The only relationship that existed with out Inuyasha's knowledge of it first was Kikyo and Koga. Koga was the only guy that never asked for anything.

 

Six guys were crowded around Inuyasha talking. He lazed about in the spotlight only half-listening. They talked about all sorts of things at the beginning; places they'd been, girls they met, video games, how much they hate Inuyasha's brother (Inuyasha's favorite), who they'd like to have this year. But the final topic was always brought up: Girls. Inuyasha was like a gatekeeper who only let in the best of guys.

 

“So Miroku, you going to keep going out with Sango this year?” asked Sono without real conviction. The answer was always the same.

 

Without glancing Inuyasha's way he said “Of course. Who would want to give up that ass?”

 

The guys whistled and jeered but they knew Miroku really liked Sango and wouldn't give up for anyone else.

 

“So, what about you Shippo? Gonna finish Kilala?” some asked close the door.

 

“I've already called dibs” He said finally.

 

“And Koga got Kikyo now” Inuyasha said gruffly. They all looked at him wondering if he was going to try to stop it. He said nothing more so they went on.

 

“I think I'll ask Nakada out this weekend” said Aaron quietly.

 

“Do you have the hots for her or what?” jeered Koga “Good thing you're finally growing the balls to ask her out”

 

“Shut up Koga. Remember how long it took you to ask out that Yamata out?” Aaron retorted sourly. It had taken him a long time to ask her out.

 

“Yeah and she turned him down right away. The face was priceless” said Miroku

 

“So what about you Sono?” asked Koga slightly red “Who are you going for?”

 

“Can I have the twins?” he asked hopefully.

 

Inuyasha hit him on the head “No two-timing. Pick one” That meant he could have either but not two.

 

“I think I'd like to have a girl friend this year” Scar said out loud to no-one.

 

“Scar,” said Inuyasha mocking a sagely voice “You may have anyone you wish”

A grin spread across the all of the boys faces. “What about that newbie, Kagome. Can he have her too?” asked Shippo mockingly.

 

Inuyasha's face became serious and almost deadly. His fangs bared he growled dangerously and said “Anyone but her. You can take anyone but Kagome. The one who takes her dies” He was serious and they all knew it. Inuyasha was half-demon after all.

 

“Well that clears up any confusion. Wonder what they girls are saying?” Miroku said trying to lighten the mood a bit. By this he meant everyone should forget Kagome and use the demon's ultra sensitive hearing to listen in on the girls. The last part to their first day back meeting.
