InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Past Best Forgotten....Future Most Looked For ❯ New Beginnings and Encounters ( Chapter 2 )
It had been more or less than five years since Kagome killed Inuyasha. Since then she had become a priestess of the village to protect the Shikon no Tama.
` To think if I had only kept the jewel instead of giving it to Inuyasha', Kagome thought as she walked to his grave. She had him buried under the tree where they first met. The grave was probably covered in leaves seeing as how it was fall. Kagome could feel the leaves crunch under her feet as she neared the tombstone. As she sat down in front of it she placed flowers underneath. "How did we get here my love? Where did we go wrong", she smiled sadly. She began to pick off the dead weeds and scoot away the leaves when she heard footsteps. They were as the footsteps of doom for she knew who it was.
"You disgrace his memory by being here", she said never turning around to face the intruder. She knew this would piss him off.
"Who ever said I wanted to honor the half-breed's memory, girl?", the man slyly said as he inched forward.
In an instant she picked up her bow and arrow and turned to face him. She aimed at his heart. "Are you not disgracing his memory by killing me the way you did him? And in front of his grave no less", he said without emotion. He hated to dredge up painful memories for the young miko, but he needed to know if she was strong enough. He had to know if she was the one.
"Leave me. Your presence sickens me", she said quietly. She was hoping that someone come. She couldn't stand to see Sesshomaru anymore. He reminded her too much of Inuyasha and the life they use to have……together. Yet she ruined all that. Yes she ruined it the moment she gave him the jewel to become a full blooded demon.
"I think not. I remind you of him. He who you loved most. Am I correct?", Sesshomaru said raising his brow.
Kagome lowered her weapon and turned to face Inuyasha's grave again. She couldn't look at the youkai lord anymore. She didn't want to give him the pleasure if seeing her tears.
"I will leave for now miko, but know that I will come to you whenever I please. I still have questions concerning my baka of a brother's death," he said as he turned away from her frail frame. He could sense the tears and wished to leave. He hated how emotional humans were. `Five years', he thought, `And she still mourns for him'. With that he was gone as fast as he had appeared.
