“Kagome..?” Sango called from Kaede’s hut waving her hand frantically trying to get the mikos attention.
Kagome was rather shocked to find herself at the village, but in the end she just blamed her feet for bringing her back. “Hey Sango...” She called back waving and began walking over to her.
Sango smiled at her and began running to her with Kagome’s yellow pack on her back. “I was just going for a bath. Would you like to join me?” She asked stopping right in front of her.
“Uh…” She began but when she looked over Sango’s shoulder her eyes meet with amber. “Sure I could use a good soak.” She replied smiling at Sango and began walking towards the nearest hot spring.
“Are you alright?” Sango asked looking back over her shoulder just as Inuyasha hopped up onto Kaede’s roof.
“Yeah, fine, why?” Kagome replied rather hurriedly.
“Just wondering?” The slayer replied looking back over at the tense miko. “Did you and Inuyasha have another fight?” She asked after looking her over.
“No, why would you ask that?”
“Well, your eyes are red and puffy so I can tell you have been crying and you seem to be avoiding Inuyasha.”
“No, no…it’s not like that at all. I went for a walk earlier…I tripped and something got in my eyes. But I’m better now.” She said with a somewhat forced smile.
“Kagome…”
“Sango please, I really don’t want to talk about it, my head is killing me and my body hurts. I promise we can talk in the morning.” She replied.
“As you wish Kagome but know that I am here for you.”
Kagome smiled. “Thank you Sango.”
A stale silence filled the air and Sango tried her best to make a joke to break it but the miko was too deep in thought. Sango sighed and stood. “I’m going to bed you coming?” But still no answer, she placed a gentle hand on the miko’s shoulder and smiled softly. “Bed?”
Kagome jolted out of her thoughts when Sango’s hand landed on her shoulder and she looked up at the smiling slayer. “No I’ll stay a little longer.” She said with a sweet smile placing her hand on Sango’s. Sango looked down to the jewel that hung around her play sister’s neck with questioning eyes. “Really Sango, I’ll be fine, I’ll scream if I need help.” She said squeezing her hand reassuringly.
Sango nodded, climbed out of the hot spring, dressed and left with a wave. Kagome sighed heavily, closed her eyes and sunk under the water.
Inuyasha sat close by the fire awaiting the arrival of Sango and Kagome, his ears twitch and turn back towards the sound of the rustling bushes, taking a quick sniff and realized it was just Sango. Wait just Sango? Turning his head to look at the huntress he gave her a questioning look.
Sango knew he would ask and rolled her eyes. “Can’t the girl have a moment alone?” She asked setting down her stuff and unpacking her bed roll.
The hanyou look as if the huntress was crazy. “Keh when she learns to defend herself, of course, but as long as she needs my help no.” he said standing and going to go look for Kagome.
“Inuyasha, Sango’s right, Kagome will come back when she is ready.” He said looking the hanyou over. “Besides, I don’t think she will appreciate you walking in on her while she is relaxing and I don’t think you will appreciate her sitting you.”
“Then what are you suggesting monk that I just leave her out there by herself?” Asked the irritated hanyou
“Yes, like I have said she will come back when she is ready and if something happens she will call for help.”
“Keh.”
A light breeze blew, rustling the trees above and blowing a fallen flower into Miroku’s hands, smiling down at the flower he spoke. “Women are much like flowers, delicate and in need of your love. Not all flowers depend on somebody, but those that do, require that of the utmost care. They need you to listen and care, tend to them when hurt or not felling well, to give and to take. They need that person to love them so that they can grow or else they wither and eventually die.”
Inuyasha listen to the monk’s words and was rather shocked as the flower in Miroku’s hand blew away petal by petal with the wind. He lowered his eyes to the ground, his ears laid down and a whimper escaped him yet no one heard. ‘Flowers huh? Guess I haven’t tended much to mine.’
“There are some men who have more than one flower some two, these men have it rough, for they must care for the flowers all the same, yet they can’t. You can’t love two flowers.” He said staring dead into the hanyou’s eyes. “No one can, one will die.” He said simply then added as an after though. “It would be best to let the other go, to give it to someone who can love it the way it was meant to be loved. Don’t you think?”
His ears once again were pent to his head, why was the truth so hard to accept? But the important question was which flower would he chose? But the hanyou knew his heart had already chosen. “I’m going for a walk.” He said standing and walking off into the forest.
Figuring she had been in long enough, her headache was clear evidences of that. Standing, she took her towel and dried off. Slipping on her night clothes and shoes she packed up her things and began walking back to camp praying that everyone or at least Inuyasha was already asleep. Then her mind stray to a single thought of Sesshomaru. Did he really mean what he said? Would he really take her away from Inuyasha let alone her friends? What about Shippo? “Argh!” She stopped and shook her head trying to rid her head of some many questions and the even bigger headache they were giving her. “Why did this all have to happen? The jewel, Inuyasha, Naraku and Sesshomaru? Why? Why me?” She asked looking up at the stars. Such a beautiful night shouldn’t be spent trying to find answer to such question, right? But what more could she do? The snapping of a twig caught her attention; she looked ahead of her and gasping. ‘Why is he here? What does he want?’
Inuyasha had been thinking of how to tell her without breaking her heart to much, but deep down he knew there wasn’t away. He was going to hurt her told her and for sure going to hurt her if he hid it. Sighing, he sniffed out her scent and began following it still trying to think of the words to say. He stopped right before reaching a rather nicely moonlight clearing and watched as Kagome stopped as well only to shake her head and ask the stars several questions which pertained his name and his brothers. He could tell she was already hurting and had been for years, he just hoped what he had to say wouldn’t push her over the edge. Stepping forward and onto a twig he froze as it snapped and her eyes landed on him. Swallowing the lump in his throat he stared back at her.
“I-Inuyasha?” She called wondering if he came for her or was going to meet Kikyo, more than likely it was the latter of the two. ‘I can see it in his eyes, he loves her.’
“Kagome?” He sighed stepping forward only to see her step back, his ears dropped and he sighed again. This wasn’t going to go well, but he couldn’t hid his feelings for Kikyo any longer. Looking surely into her eyes he took a deep breathe “Kagome..”

Chapter Two
She walked in a daze not really paying attention to where she was going. Her mind was going a mile a minute trying to figure out Sesshomaru’s words and his actions, but it only proved to give her a headache which only turned into a migraine. Stopping she shook her head trying to clear her thoughts.“Kagome..?” Sango called from Kaede’s hut waving her hand frantically trying to get the mikos attention.
