Everyone looked on in shock, as the dust settled. The two Inus stood weaponless on opposite sides of a bright blue barrier, shocked showed on both faces and their swords behind them stuck in the ground. Kagome stood in the middle of the barrier both arms out stretched, one towards each Inu.


Sesshomaru clutched his falling jaw shut and gather his composure slipping back up his stoic mask. ‘How dare she stop this one.’ “Miko, move.” He growled staring into her brown orbs.


Breathing heavy she shook her head. “No.” she stated flatly.


‘What? Defiant bitch.’ He growled again glaring at her. ‘Why not just go around or over?’ He then smirked and was about to do just that when she spoke.


“Please?” She said staring into his eyes begging for him to listen. “Don’t, please don’t kill him.” He said nothing but she could see the question in his eyes even if the others couldn’t. “Yes, it hurts but that doesn’t mean he deserves to die.”


Inuyasha was shocked beyond belief now, why would she be asking this of his brother? Why didn’t she want him dead or beaten? “K-Kagome..?”


“DON’T, don’t you dare.” She began turning to the hanyou and looking into his eyes. “I may not want you dead but that gives you no right to speak to me. You have chosen and right now I see no way we can be friends even if that suggestion came from my lips. I need time.” She said her words growing lower at the end as she looked away and to the ground.


Inuyasha didn’t know what to say and so he said nothing. Sesshomaru could feel the miko was becoming weaker. “Miko, you are draining yourself, let down the barrier.” ‘Since when did he care?’ Inuyasha thought.


Kagome heard Sesshomaru, let down the shield and that is when she felt how drained she really was. ‘Since when did she listen to him?’ Inuyasha thought. Feeling that her legs could no longer hold her up she began falling, but when she never felt her body meet the ground she looked to see what had happened, only to find herself in Sesshomaru’s arms and bridal style at that.


Sesshomaru had leapt over to her in time to catch her before she met the earth and picked her up, with the help of his tail. “Do you remember what I told you, miko?” He asked watching his brother incase he decide to be stupid and try to attack him, yet he seemed to still be shocked by Kagome’s words and actions to understand what was happening at the moment.


‘This Sesshomaru will be watching. If the hanyou hurts you any more, I will take you from him.’ Kagome nodded her head and stared into his amber eyes as he continued to watch his brother. “Will you go with this Sesshomaru?” The taiyoukai asked.


Kagome eyes grew wide. ‘He-he’s asking?’ “W-what?” She asked knowing what he’d asked but couldn’t help but feel as though she could have heard him wrong.


“I will not repeat myself miko.”


“Kagome..?” Sango called as she finally reached them.


“Mama..?” Shippo called before growling at Sesshomaru. “Let my mama go!” He growled glaring at the lord.


Sesshomaru eyes drifted from his dazed brother to the kitsune that stood on the taijya’s shoulder glaring at him as best he could. “Miko, I have no time for this, you will come on your own approval or my own, either way you are going with this one.”


“She is going nowhere with you, now let her go.” Shippo yelled his fur standing on end.


“Miko…” Sesshomaru growled glaring at the kitsune. “It would be wise to tell your kit not to challenge me, my patients is running rather thin on this day.”


Kagome knew Sesshomaru wouldn’t really hurt him or at least not much but she didn’t want to test that theory. “S-shippo, it’s alright, I’m fine. I will come back in few days or um when permitted. Be a good boy for Sango and Miroku.” She said with a weak smile.


Sesshomaru took her words as an okay to leave, turned and began walking off into the forest, it just so happened that Inuyasha came out of his shock at this moment. “Hey where the fuck do you think you are going?”


Hearing his brother’s words he simply replied, “My business with you is now over, hanyou, so if you appreciate your life, you will leave things as they are.” Stopping at his sword and looked for a way to pick it up without dropping or having to put Kagome down.


“Like hell this is over, you come threatening me and my mate and then just take Kagome away like she belongs to you.”


“She will soon enough.” Sesshomaru said simply before throwing a shocked and blushing Kagome over his right shoulder holding her in place with his tail as he grabbed his sword and sheathed it.


Inuyasha was now completely shocked, not only did he brother admit that he wanted Kagome, a human, but the fact that Kagome didn’t protest any of this. Stuttering he pointed at them and tried to understand what the hell was going on. “I would not think to hard about it brother, or you might hurt what’s left of your so called brain.” Sesshomaru said as he again began walking towards the forest.


Kikyo moved away as Sesshomaru walked towards her and then passed her with a glare. Kagome looked up from her spot on his shoulder and waved to her friends. Sango was shocked but waved back, Shippo was crying and Miroku had a rather lecherous grin on his face which of course seconds later his hand took over and then Sango’s fist knock him out cold. “Um so, are you going to let me down any time soon, I mean I can walk.”


“Carrying you will be faster.” He replied simply growling at her squirming. “Stop you’re squirming, woman.”


Rolling her eyes she squirmed more. “You fucking demons are all alike, you expect for everyone to obey your every command and yet you can’t even give them the same respect you expect them to give you.”


“Miko, this Sesshomaru is warning you, now you will cease your movements or…”


“Miko, human, woman, can you not remember anyone’s name but you’re own and your enemies?” She asked kicking her feet more. “I have a name and it’s…”


Tightening his tail around her he interjected “Kagome…” She gasped and stopped all movement. “This one knows your name.”


Blinking she stuttered out. “T-then w-why do you not use it?”


Thinking for a moment he replied. “This one will consider using your proper name when you start obeying.”


“I am not some dog that you can command.” She said in a calm and quiet voice.


“Nor am I your equal.” He said referring to her statement about respect.


“So you will not show me respect because you feel as thou you are the only one who deserves it and no one less than you.” She said with a questioning tone.


“Hnn.” Was his response as he continued walking.


“And what of the other lords, do you show them respect?”


“Yes.”


“And why is that? I thought you thought no one was your equal so that makes everyone less than you and you just said that anyone less than you should not be shown respect.”


He growled and dropped her on her ass. “They deserve respect not because of equality but because of title and status. No one is stronger than this Sesshomaru and never will be.” But then again that wasn’t true now was it? She was stronger than him and they both knew it, but who in there right mind would say it?


“Ow! That hurt you know!” She yelled to his back as she rubbed her throbbing bottom, but he didn’t reply nor turn to her. “Rude much, Mr. Stick-so-far-up-my-ass.” She said before hearing her own words, gasping she covered her mouth and look up at him with wide eyes.


Looking over his shoulder he glared a whole into her head and growled. “You will walk from here on out but you must keep up and there will be no stopping unless I say so. Now on your feet woman.”


Swallowing the large lump in her throat she stood fast ignoring the protest of her butt and began following him. ‘What have I gotten myself into?’


Smirking to himself he proudly replied. ‘You have no idea.’


Omg, I'm so sorry but my internet got turned off so I couldn't update, I am trying to get another chapter up but for some reason it's not letting me put it up. I am now back on the internet and should be able to update um well even less because I am working two jobs and going to school but if I have updates I will see if my friend can put them up until I get my Laptop which is a good thing because that means I get to update and write more yay!
