A couple of hours later the healer had come and gone. Calming the Lord down, of course the healer didn't know that he was doing that. Now Sesshoumaru stood by the window. Looking out and trying to calm his own demon down. He waited for Zoë to awaken.
By the late evening of the same day, the personal maid of Sesshoumaru had gruffly done her biddings around the castle with a dark look on her face. She had always hoped to be the center of Sesshoumaru's attention whenever he's in the castle and actually secretly hoped that she could be his mate, but now, the chance is smaller, to slim none. Another woman had taken her place. How dare Lord Sesshoumaru have forgotten her so easily…well, she isn't going to let him forget her that easily and he would pay for it. So will the impudent woman of his, but first, the lord will be the one to taste her revenge. After all, she knew his true weakness and she aims for it.
Now that she had 'helped' the other servants to cook, although they were watching her wearily, for they knew she was jealous of Lady Zoë's place in Sesshoumaru's attention. Luckily, when she took the food out for Sesshoumaru and Lady Zoe, along the way to his room, she had already placed something in the food she knew would cause his stomach to react violently. Just as she entered the room, she kept her eyes down and she placed the food by the edge of the bed and saw that Zoë was already awakened from the moment she came in. She kept her anger in check, "Milord, dinner is here." She bowed her head quietly as she came and left the room without another word.
Sesshoumaru had watched Zoë carefully, although he had not moved from his window. Now she was awake, but he still did not look at her. When his maid came in and left the food, he walked over to it and took a plate, placing it by Zoë's side. Then going to the plates again he picked up the one he knew was his own. Never detecting anything added to it. If he even suspected it he would not go near it, for he knew well what it would do to him. He took the plate and the chopsticks and started eating, with all the grace in him.
"You should eat as well. You need strength. You have lost a lot of blood." He said while he paused a minute to talk to her and then went back to his food.
Zoë had already begun to eat her food, although she was feeling weary from all the stuff she had just done. She looked up from eating her food, when she noticed that he now sat on a large pillow which was made for sitting by the edge of the bed. She knew she would be kept under watch, but since she was a Makai, they only needed up to three days to fully heal, as long as they do not over-do themselves in the process of healing. IT was a good thing, but sometime the injuries vary the time of healing.
From the moment she started to eat, she felt better, although the pain were intense, but they weren't, despite the fact that blood had already gushed right tout of her wounds once again. The healer must've done something to help her, but then again, she had to thank the healer, and not to mention, the lord as well.
"At least…I heal quicker, as long as I don't…really do anything that's going to hurt me to the extreme." She mumbled slightly while she ate her food, yet her eyes were on the bed, and not the lord himself. She hasn't suspected anything strange, and with hat, she continued to eat her food.
Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes at her comment. "And you don't think that going out the garden in your condition was extreme." He said as he finished eating. It was then he noticed it, the odd pain starting in his stomach and starting to grow in intensity. His stomach started to contract painfully, as the intense allergic reaction intensified in a matter of seconds. He stood, the plate he was holding falling to the floor as he tried to make it to the door, not wanting Zoe to see him like this. The reaction got worse the more he moved. His hand moved to his stomach holding it, as if that would make the pain go away. Finally and with his stomach not being able to take it anymore, he threw up all that he had just eaten as darkness took him into her sweet embrace. Sesshoumaru fell to the floor, in a motionless heap.
Zoe hadn't responded until she noticed the first sign entered the demon lord's appearance. She lowered her plate, and yet she lifted it up only to place it by the edge of the large bed. As soon as she saw him threw up, she realized that he must've been poisoned, "Sesshoumaru!!" She screamed so loud that brought one of her faithful servant into the room.
Her adrenaline had driven the demoness to fully forget her pains as she scrambled out of her bed, rushed toward Sesshoumaru's side. She looked at the room around her and used her telekinetic just before she ordered the faithful servant or a friend of hers to get the healer immediately, to bring Sesshoumaru back into his bed.
She brought herself back into his bed and began to wipe the stuff that had been spilled over him with a wet, warm cloth that had been brought over by another maid.
The maids had rushed to Sesshoumaru's bed chambers at the scream of Lady Zoë. Once the Healer came in and saw Sesshoumaru he knew what it was instantly. " What has he eaten? " He asked Zoë as he placed a hand over Sesshoumaru's stomach.
The old demon looked up at the Lady and scowled, he moved to the plate taking in it's scent, and then tasting it. "Something was added to his food. Every cook knows what they can't do to his food."
He moved over to Sesshoumaru again and took a large glass bottle which contained a black liquid. Taking out he popped the top and moved over to Sesshoumaru and moved his head in a way so thathis mouth opened, then the healer dropped the black liquid into his mouth. Making it fall down Sesshoumaru's throat.
" I take it you have not been told about his weakness? " He asked now looking up to Zoe as he kept pouring the black liquid down Sesshoumaru's throat.
Zoe remained in her place, her eyes had been on the demon lord the entire time, although she was curious of what was the back liquid exactly used for. From the moment the healer had spoke since the time he sniffed the food, she suddenly shuts her mouth for some odd reason. Something was bugging her, but she wasn't sure what.
A Makai demons are known to be able to sense a danger, by situation or by a person. She wasn't sure of how to explain it, but she knew she had to keep her eyes open for anything strange.
She managed to rip her sight from the demon lord and turned her eyes upon the healer, with confusion in her eyes. "…his weakness? What is it?"
The healer looked at Zoe and scowled. " Lord Sesshoumaru was born with a very weak stomach. His stomach can not handle almost any food. The only food he can eat is rabbit, and the rabbit has to have been raised on a strict diet of carrots. You are witnessing the result of what happens when he eats something other than that. What I do not understand is who dare to do this? " Said the healer.
Now thinking about it, while he put the bottle away. Having poured all the liquid down his throat. " The liquid you saw me pour into his stomach will act like a magnet, absorbing the food. From now on, it will be up to his strength to save him. The only problem is that is demon healing has never been able to heal his stomach. No one has been able to figure out why." He said with a sigh. "Of course Lord Sesshoumaru is a mystery on many realms." He said with a slight nod of his head.
Worries clouded her indigo eyes, as she watched the healer intensely before her gaze drawn themselves toward the unconscious demon lord who now lay among his own bed, his body completely limp. She had never realized that he would have something that could affected his life terribly, but then, everybody is born with a flaw, there is no such word for perfection, at least in her own belief. A perfection only exist when love exist. At least, that's what she thought.
Without realizing, she bent down to brush the demon lord's bangs from his face lightly and once more, she brought the damp cloth across his forehead gently as possible, sensitive to the touch. "I see…I will have to use my own instincts to find the root of this situation…when I do, that person will beg for mercy, for I will give none." As she spoke, her tone was so intensify that it can chill anyone to the bones, a mystery of what she could do when one provokes her so deeply. She may be a female, she may be a fighter, but she's much more than that, something of terrible that no one would ever dream of.
The healer looked at Zoe, and then realised she was the one everyone was talking about. "You are the one that is going to become the next Lady of the West."
"Everyone is talking about you little lady. I can see why...Lord Sesshoumaru has done well to choose you as his future mate." He said with a grin as he looked at her.
Sesshoumaru still unconscious moved and got closer to Zoë, his demon seeking her comfort, as soft growls and whines echoed through his throat. When the healer saw that he laughed. "Looks like he wants more of your attention.., you better pet him some more. Dog demons like that." He said laughing a little. "And don't worry….Nothing I have seen I will repeat...I'd have to be stupid to do that." He said. "Even if he gets up, do not let him move, not even an inch. Not even if he says he's ok. Don't believe him. Cause he ain't gonna be…"
"He can not move for at least three days. I will be back tomorrow to check on his progress." He finished picking up his bag and bowing to her. He waited for her to tell him he was free to go.
Zoë blushed lightly when the healer had commented that she would be the next lady of the western lands, and yet she had always thought that the demon lord would never see her that way. She didn't know that there were the talk among the castle and now that she heard of it, she wondered what they were saying about her. She blinked her eyes when she saw that the demon lord had somehow managed to move closer to her with soft noises from his throat. With that, she could not help it, but to smile with faint blush across her cheeks.
When he moved closer, she only continued to wipe his face with a still warm cloth, as she brushed back his hair from his face, for some they were sticking to him like glue. She looked up to watch the healer pack his things away and stood, awaiting for her command that he was free to go. But he wasn't done; there was something she was curious of.
"I don't mean to be so…childish, but what are they saying about me? The rumors?" She asked with curiosity.
The healer grinned at Zoë's question. "Nothing bad, Lady Zoë. Just that you must have a lot of power to accompany your beauty, to be able to catch this Demon Lord. Now I see it's true, he's as good as mated. His demon is seeking your comfort and touch even when Sesshoumaru himself is unconscious...That can only happen if his demon sees you already as his." He said with a grin as he looked at her.
Zoë blinks with her left eyebrow raises, although the blush on her cheeks continued to grow when she heard of what the rumor talked of, and not to mention, the healer's personal comment. She looked down and decided to try a little experiment. She moved herself away from him and stopped touching him for a few moments, wondering what could happen next.
Deep in his unconscious mind, Sesshoumaru's demon felt cold, he felt his mate move away from him, and instantly his body started trying to move to get to her, whimpering and growling along the way. He followed his senses they led him in the direction of Zoë. The healer saw this and instantly stopped his movement. "Now don't you try that again while he's in this condition, play with his demon when he is well healed."
The healer said a little angry. "Now get over here and comfort this demon before he starts to really growl." He said almost cracking up with laughter as Sesshoumaru started to growl and push himself to get to Zoë.
With a pang of guilt for making the demon lord to move, she quickly moved back to the demon lord's side. Unable to help it, she gave a gentle smile before she bent down to press a second kiss to his forehead, in a way to comfort him. She looked up to the healer, "I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking about it at the moment, I had my curiosity the best of me." She looked back down to the demon lord, "Thank you for all your help…you may leave, and I hope to see you again tomorrow." She whispered lightly, her smile still there.
Sesshouamru growled happily as Zoë came back to his side, he started his deep sleep again, his demon calming down. The healer saw this gave Zoë a bow and left the room, laughing along the way. "Those two are going to make a very interesting couple." He said as he left the room.
Zoë nodded at the healer who bowed before her and left the room. Now alone with the demon lord, she instinctively let out a soft purr, nothing the sort of her being a feline type, except that it was her habit to do so that most other men found attractive and alluring. She now just began to clean his face more properly before she brushed her own cheek against his own, ever so gently to only feel the soft skin, despite its paleness that contracts so well with his features.
She continued to brush her hand over his face gently while she waved her hand from his face into his hair, smoothing them out evenly. She had already lain comfortably by is side, which she lies down on her own side, nestled closely to him.
Meanwhile, the very same maid who had poisoned now sat herself upon the bench in one of the great hall, a smile crossed her exquisite face. She was somewhat satisfied, until she heard a voice and she cocked her head somewhat, strained to hear what it was all about. As soon as she heard it, she let out a snarl, "That woman won't even leave…stupid me…I had only wish to tend him myself when he's in the condition…"
She crossed her arms over her chest, one hand on her chin while she thought out some ideas, "perhaps…she should be out of the picture first, but how?" She spoke out loud, not realizing that someone else is there.
Sesshoumaru felt better as he slowly made his way to the waking world, he felt loved, protected from everything. But he didn't know why. He also notice that his demon felt very happy. As he opened his amber eyes, they started to travel around the room, but instantly they hit upon Zoë by his side.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, his voice barely coming out, as he tried to move away from her, but found his body stiff with the results of his attack. He growled softly as his body hit the pillows again.
Somewhere else in the castle the healer was walking out, when he heard the words of the maid. Instantly his eyebrows raised in horror.
~ His own personal maid! Of all the.........The lady must know this. ~
He thought as he moved away from the maid, without her noticing him, as he always masked his scent. He wrote a note on a piece of parchment paper rolled it up and gave it to another maid to give only to Zoë. The maid did as she was told, and moved to got to Lady Zoë.
Zoë remained in her place as she watched the demon lord stirred from the darkness he had first fallen into. She arched her left eyebrow, "Why do you think I'm here? You put me in your room once again and now I'm stuck for you're injured." She let out a small sigh and decided to move herself apart from him with some efforts, while she fought to regain control over her pains that had just now came back to haunt her. She was now well out of the demon lord's reach, "I hope you're happy this way…" She spoke, somewhat sadly, although she had masked it once more, as she lay back onto the pillows.
Few minutes had passed by until another maid came in and gave a small parchment to Zoë who looked at it in confusion. She watched as the maid left quickly and she read the parchment, as she does, her hand slowly crushed the paper while she shut her eyes, a sign of anger growing with one of her eyebrow twitched violently. With her hand holding on the parchment so tightly, a spark of fire flared to life, burning the paper to ashes, until she picked them off easily with telekinetic skill and brushed them off the bed, knowing how the demon lord likes to keep things clean.
Well, at least she knows, and by the time tomorrow hits, she will be ready to each the little bastard a lesson.
Sesshoumaru gave a small "Hmpht!" to her words. "I do not need anyone taking care of me." He said trying to appear strong as he noticed her anger and wondered what had made her that way. It was then that he remembered his present problem... He wondered if it had been done on purpose or if it had been an accident. If it had been on purpose then who ever did it would pay dearly for it. He thought, completely oblivious to Zoë's thoughts.

With her hand holding on the parchment so tightly, a spark of fire flared to life, burning the paper to ashes, until she picked them off easily with telekinetic skill and brushed them off the bed, knowing how the demon lord likes to keep things clean.
