You could love her, if you paid, you could have her everyday [x – </3 – x]
“You’re late.” Rin winced at the harshness in her boss’s tone, bowed her head in apology. She didn’t mean to come late, she always tried her hardest to get to work on time but… Ms. Kaze sighed, “Go to the back, start getting ready. You’re on in 20 minutes, should be enough for Mai to prep you.” The young woman nodded and made her way to the back of the stage and into the changing rooms and sure enough, Mai was there, dripping a pale foundation into the airbrush tool.
“Oh good, you’re here.” Mai said as she finished setting up the small machine. “I was starting to get worried… You’ll be alright performing tonight?” Rin nodded, she was a bit sore and her leg… but if she didn’t do well, she wouldn’t get paid well… and then he would get angry. The young woman began to set her things down and strip herself of every article of clothing. She sank her teeth into her bottom lip as she walked normaly, not wanting Mai to notice her more present injury. Mai tied her short purple hair back and Rin stood in front of her. The older woman said nothing as she analyzed the bruises and scars she was going to have to hide.Rin preferred it that way. Her co-worker would ask in the beginning but learned that she wouldn't say a word or couldn't really. So much of the scars on her body are there because she didn't stay quiet... so she vowed not to speak again. If she couldn't speak than she could say anything... stupid, to make her dad angry. Mai urged her to turn a bit to the right to cover a fading bruise on her side. It made her feel guilty sometimes... The people here were nice, the girls and even Ms. Kaze despite how harsh she could be. They were different. A dark shadow cast over her eyes, she was going to miss them when they moved. When she didn't know, but they always moved.
“So Ayame is gonna try and make her move on that wolf guy whose always here tonight.” Rin blinked and nodded, knowing exactly who she was talking about. “I told her not to expect much. He’s so… I don’t know.” Mai persistently tried covering the bruises on her upper arms which were as clear as day that strong hands caused them. The mist of foundation eventually covered them but Mai already had to fill the brush again for the scars around the collarbone. “He brought his friend too; the one Kagura is obsessed with. She’s probably chatting it up with them right now.”
Rin swallowed the lump that formed in her throat at the moment of ‘the friend’. She was gonna just do a regular dance tonight, fearing she might worsen whatever was wrong with her leg, but if he was here… She chewed on her bottom lip as she contemplated on what to do. She had to do something at least a bit special, she always did when he was there. It was silly, she knew, to think that someone out in the audience wasn't thinking that she was a whore and how she would look in their bed. There was something about him that caught her eye since she first saw him... And it wasn't the handsome face or expensive Armani suit. Mai asked her to close her eyes as she began to put the foundation on her face. His eyes... he always looked sad.
Others say he is emotionless, speaks without pitch and a tone of coldness. But what she saw in his eyes was sorrow, not bitterness, that he tried hiding behind an ice mask. She could be wrong, she wasn't very bright to begin with but...
“There we go… All gone.” Mai commented as she put away the foundation. “Want any pain reliever, just in case?” She nodded and watched the other woman rummage around the messy make-up stations for the Tynenol. Rin smiled when she figured out a small routine with a nurse outfit and a wheelchair…
[x – </3 – x]
“Vanilla! You’re up in five!” Rin just finished slipping on her white thigh-high stockings and pumps when the announcer gave her the warning. She hurriedly grabbed the wheelchair positioned it right behind the closed curtains. She gave her hair a few more brushes to calm some flyaways in her tight bun and made sure it was secure, but easy to remove. Rin grabbed the small nurse hat and rested it on her head. She let out a jagged sigh, trying to compose her erratic nerves. She loved dancing. It made her feel… free. But on stage, with hungry men watching, having to… strip. She tried thinking of other things… Curious, and something that has become a sort of tradition and signature of her’s, she peeked out of the curtain, nothing more than her eyes visible. Already the men began to holler.
And there he was. Right there. First front seats, center stage. It didn’t calm her… at all. And she did a quick scan of the rest of the room and her eyes landed on the person she was not expecting in the slightest. ‘Daddy!’ She retreated back in quickly, her heart thundering in her chest. ‘No, no, no…’ She felt the tears prickle her eyes, her body began to shake violently. He never showed up to her shows. Never. ‘Why… Why is he here?’ She inhaled sharply, trying to contain her emotions. It was too close to showtime. And if he was there… she had to be more careful. She could not mess up or…
The curtains began to rise. Rin cleared her throat and straighten her spine, ‘I have to do good. I can’t make him angry.’ It rose just enough to let her through and she did, with the wheelchair she held in front of her. Rin walked until she was about halfway down the wide runway before she spun and laid across the arms of the chair. She stretched out like a waking cat, which her aching muscles protested at, before turning in the seat with her legs hanging off the backside of the chair. In an impressive maneuver, she spun the wheelchair around, her back now facing the crowd.
She allowed herself to fall back, head and shoulders resting on the floor and willed her legs above and over her. 'Gods, that hurt.' But it was nothing she couldn't handle. Standing now, she leaned over over the seat, hands gripping the arms of the chair and kicked off her heels, landing who knows where. Her hips gently swayed with the music as she began to remove her left glove, throwing it away and did the same with the right. She knelt in the chair before turning, now she was facing the crowd, the lustful gazes of every man in the room. She gave an involuntary shiver when she noticed her dad smirking.
Rin didn’t like this. But Vanilla Rose had to put on a good show and with all the hollering and whistling, she assumed she was doing alright at best. Her gaze landed on the molten gold eyes of Kouga’s friend. She could never read him while she was performing. It should bother her immensely but perhaps it was because it sparked a little hope that maybe he wasn't having the same thoughts as his friend's, staring at her with unhidden lust, was. And Vanilla Rose didn’t look away as she lowered her small dress from the collar, slipping her arms from the sleeves as her red flimsy top was revealed. She continued until it slipped off her feet, where she let it fall completely and raised her left leg.
Vanilla Rose grabbed the stocking by its red-lace hem, slipping it off with ease. She held both ends on either side of her foot and used it to sling the stocking carelessly across the room, landing on the head of an eager male. She repeated the same action with the other leg, having it accidentally land on her father. Rin bit back the squeak of surprise when it happened, and tried to ignore it when he smiled that smile. Vanilla Rose spun the wheel chair around again and stood from it, her body swaying with the slow beat of the music as she made her way a bit closer to the main pole. She stopped about four feet from it, a small smile on her lips as she gently grabbed her nurse hat with both hands and let it fly, directly on a head of silver hair.
She held back a grin when the wolf laughed and his friend looked a little… surprised. Her hands made their way to her bound inky-black hair and, with what seemed like a simple flick of the wrist, the locks fell to her mid-back, framing her face. She continued on until she reached the main pole; she gripped it and span around three times, lowering herself to her knees as she did so. With nimble hands, she slipped the straps of her top down. Rin couldn’t bear to look at him, or anyone, at this point. She stared at the far wall, trying to ignore the piercing eyes in front of her and to the far right of her. She unclasped the top from the back and threw it out, landing on the back of the wheelchair behind her. She continued with the rest of her performance, noticing that his gaze never left her eyes and his gaze never left her body.
Rin walked backstage into the changing room, looking around for something else to wear. At this moment, another one of the girls came up behind her. “How do you think up that stuff? That was a nice routine, Vanilla.” Ayame complimented as she was too looking for something to wear. Rin smiled at the red-head for the comment and nodded. “So... I can't help but notice that you like looking in the general direction of a head of silver, eyes of gold, and heart of ice?” The young woman blinked, a small heat rose to her cheeks at behind caught but she did nothing more as she continued looking through the rack. Ayame giggled, “I knew it. Maybe we could help each other? I want that wolf he's with... Kouga...” She sighed dreamily before returning, “And maybe---”
“Rin.” The young woman turned at the sound of her boss's voice. “You did well... I want you around for another two hours though, one of the girls are going to be late. Come to my office at the end of your shift, alright?” She nodded and Ms. Kaze walked off to the make-up station to speak with Mai. But would daddy be alright with that...? He never liked it when she would come late from work.
“That's perfect!” Ayame whispered in her ear. The wolf demoness picked out a very short, mini tube dress in white, a pair of high strappy heels and a wide green belt. “I like it when you wear this one!” Ayame said when she picked out a tiny halter vanilla-colored dress with open back and a beautiful red obi-like cloth with the outline of roses in a cream thread at both ends. “Seriously, I think this dress was made for you.” Both women dressed in their desired outfits before walking on to the main room, heading straight towards the bar.“So Ayame is gonna try and make her move on that wolf guy whose always here tonight.” Rin blinked and nodded, knowing exactly who she was talking about. “I told her not to expect much. He’s so… I don’t know.” Mai persistently tried covering the bruises on her upper arms which were as clear as day that strong hands caused them. He never liked it when she would come late from work.
“Oooh hey girls!” Jakotsu greeted them. Once in front of the bar, Rin continued to try and pull down the dress she wore. It was her size but it was so... short and the cloth that covered her breasts barely did. “You alright?” The man asked as he put down two orders of fancy-looking drinks in front of each girl. Rin smiled and nodded, and decided to just give up on the dress. Its like she had something that no one in here didn't see earlier. She inwardly cringed at that thought and waited for the bartender to direct them. “Ayame, over there. Table 3.” Rin glanced over there and paled when she noticed that is where her father was sitting. She prayed he wouldn't do anything to her co-worker. “And you... the two gentlemen sitting front of the main stage.” He sighed, “What wouldn't I do to be able to sink my teeth into those two... The dog is a bit too cold though, wonder if he has a brother...”
Vanilla Rose grabbed the tray with the two tall drinks and walked over to them. She flashed them both a bright smile as she set their drinks down. “Hey, that was quite the performance you did up there.” The wolf complimented, “You're probably the only reason I can drag this icicle with me---” The dog shot him a chilly glare, enough to make even Rin shiver slightly. Wait, what did he just say? Rin blushed darkly when his statement registered, as the wolf continued to try and defend himself against the ice. “Whatever.” He muttered when he gave up, handing Vanilla Rose the money for the drinks and slipping a little tip in her dress. She smiled at them both, bowed her head before she walked away back to the bar.
“Vanilla...” Rin looked up at the bartender, he was smiling. “You're so cute. Why don't you make a move on him?” A strangled noise from her throat was her response as her gaze dropped on the floor. Make move on him? She couldn't do that. She wasn't allowed to... not if it wasn't just business. Besides she was a whore, she wasn't good enough to be more to anybody. “Vanilla...?” But she turned away from him and just walked around the club, doing what she had to. She gave a few lap dances until she reached one particular man that called her over. His hair was black and wavy, really long too and his skin was ghostly pale; he wore a black suit with a dark purple dress shirt under it, a black tie which he was currently loosing from his neck.
When she reached him, is when she noticed the color of his eyes. Rin fought the urge to run when his crimson gaze fell on her, it was so odd. His pupils were...white? How? What was he? He motioned her to come closer to his seated position in a dark booth, which she did until she was just out of arm's length. She titled her head to the side in question. “You...You're Onigumo's girl, right?” Her breath caught in her throat and she took a small step back. He didn't like that. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her down on top of his lap. She tried to squirm out of his grasp, her dress riding up, but his voice halted all her movements. “Run, scream, do anything other than what I tell you and everyone in this bar is gonna find out just how much your daddy loves you.” He closed the futher side of the curtains and held the hem on the other side.
“Can you imagine the look of disgust on their faces?” The man whispered in her ear and another hand idly stroked her exposed thigh. Rin began to shake, she didn't know who this man was. She didn't know what he wanted, how he knew her father, how he knew... But no one else could know. She didn't want the people here to hate her--- “Those you give service to wouldn't even want to look at you anymore...” She felt her eyes begin to sting and she prayed for someone to noticed her gone, to notice that she was not well with this man. It hurt what he was saying, it hurt so much. She believed it was true, she didn't doubt it for a second. But he closed the other curtain, lyng them both in the dimmed-lit, enclosed booth. “Aww, Rin, don't cry.” He wiped a tear away with a gentle hand. “I'm here to help you, not hurt you but I need you to listen to me, okay?” His words confused her. Help her? He just threatened to... Rin nodded regardless, not having the option to do anything else. Maybe he really did want to help her.
“Good girl...” He adjusted her position so her legs were on either side of him straddling his lap. Her shaking began to calm when a hand went around her waist, the other hand buried into her hair. He pulled her close and nuzzled the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply. It felt nice, nothing like what her father does. He must want to help her! “Do you prepare your father's food?” Her eyebrows scrunched in puzzlement before nodding. “Unbutton my jacket.” 'Why...?' But she remembered his words and did as she was told. “Inside in the upper left flap.” Rin felt around the silk-lined blazer and found an inner pocket in the location he stated. “Open it, take what's inside.” And she did. A small vial with a dark purple liquid inside. She was confused. What was this for? “Mix it in anything you prepare for him. Its odorless, tasteless and the color will not taint anything.”“Vanilla...” Rin looked up at the bartender, he was smiling. “You're so cute. Why don't you make a move on him?” A strangled noise from her throat was her response as her gaze dropped on the floor. Make move on him? She couldn't do that. She still didn't understand. What was in the vial? Why would she mix it in the food? “And if you consume any of the food with this liquid, you must tell me immediately.” Rin nodded, and slipped the vial in the wrap around her waist. He grabbed her chin and lifted her face towards his in a surprisingly gentle manner. “Tell me also when you have done this. I will take care of you. Your suffering with him is almost over, Rin.” She wanted to believe him. She wanted to believe that this man was good, that he really wanted to help her. But she was skeptical, why would anyone want to help her? She hoped– The man's soft lips brushed against her own, before capturing them in a kiss.
And she didn't know what to do. Not even her dad would do this... said that she was too dirty. A wetness began to form in the corner of her eyes and she tried to blink it away. She was making this man dirty, this nice man who was gonna help her... Was this how she was going to repay him? She pulled away from the kiss and the man frowned. “Why are you crying? I told you, I'm helping you.” 'You wouldn't understand...' Rin opened her mouth to speak but while her lips moved, her voice did not sound. The man cocked his head to the side, wiped away the tears from the left side of her face with his hand and leaned to lick off the tears on the other side. Why is he so kind?
“You truly can not speak...” He looked her over once more before reaching in his pant pocket. 'What is he doing?' She thought panicked. “Will you be here tomorrow?” It was a handkerchief. She visibly relaxed and nodded as he wiped off what she thought was probably the run of her makeup. The hand around her waist was stroking small circles on her back and she leaned into his touch, unknowingly arching over the man in a very erotic manner. “Same time?” He asked, his voice was suddenly a bit husky. She looked at him oddly, then settled herself back on his lap. Fear tore through her body when she felt something... hard right there. “I will not force you to do anything you don't wish to but it is hard to ignore your beauty, Rin.” His voice was deep, and it rumbled in his chest, tingling her body. He seemed so sincere, so nice... It was refreshing but she couldn't think about even trusting him the slightest bit until this... purple-stuff worked. Would it make her daddy stop being so angry? Maybe it would make him happy... He hasn't been happy in such a long time... She felt some bills being slipped in her dress, “Run along now. We will meet again tomorrow. And whatever you do Rin--” He made sure her gaze was leveled with his, “Don't let your father find the vial, and don't tell him about me, okay?” She nodded instantly, and slipped out of his lap and out of the closed booth.
'That was strange...' Probably the most odd moment she had working here, and when she looked around the room for Ayame. Rin wasn't sure what to do. She wanted to trust and believe that man. If it could help her dad, she would do it in a heartbeat. 'If it would make him stop doing... those things... Then maybe we can go back to being a nice family! Like we were before mommy, Sofia and Ryu died...' She caught her dad's eyes. He was angry. Beyond angry. The way his nostrils were flared, his brows scrunched, the clenching of his jaw and his black eyes... had a dangerous fire in them. 'Oh no... he thinks I...' She began to shake her head, her arms wrapping around her. But she didn't! She was only talking to someone! She didn't break the rules! But she knew he wouldn't believe her. He never did.
And the weight of the mysterious vial in her dress suddenly felt heavier than before.
