A/N: I don't own Inuyasha. Thanks to '~Alanna' for reviewing on almost all of my fics. Keep reviewing!
Kagome turned around the corner and passed a few trees, stopping next to a small bench at the middle of central park. Looking around, she sat down and looked up at the moon as it shined overhead. 'This is probably another trick by one of the kids at school,' the young woman sighed to herself, checking her watch. It was midnight. She stood up and moved closer to the streetlight, snuggling further into her coat to stay warm.
"If y-you're not here I'm g-going home," Kagome whispered, more to herself then to the darkness around her. She began to walk toward home when she heard a familiar voice.
"Don't worry. I'm here," the voice growled.
Kagome instinctively backed up against the street light. "W-who are you?" Kagome's eyes darted around wildly, searching for the owner of the voice.
"Hey, Kagome. Relax. It's just me." Kagome watched as the hanyou walked slowly out of the shadows toward her.
She lowered to the ground, growling and ready to pounce. "What do you want hanyou?!" The cat demon hissed through bared fangs.
"Wait!" Inuyasha threw up his hands, jokingly. "I'm just here to talk." He lowered his hands to his sides and cracked his neck loudly.
"What do you want?" Kagome repeated, this time slightly calmed.
"I want to help." Inuyasha's face begame more serious as he forced his works out. Kagome relaxed and stood up straight, lowering her claws as she looked into his eyes. He was telling the truth.
"What could you possibly do to help me?" Kagome asked softly, looking down at the ground with her ears drooping as they normally did.
"You'd be surprised," Inuyasha said turning to one of the trees, rubbing the bark softly. Suddenly, the hanyou's claws flicked and four large chunks of the tree disappeared in a fury of golden light. He laughed at her wide-eyed expression. "I can teach you to use your powers."
She took a step back and looked at him suspiciously, her ears telling a different story. They were flicking exitedly at the top of her head. "What's the catch?" She watched as the hanyou moved a few steps closer.
'Steady!' Inuyasha told himself. 'Don't scare her away!' He moved closer slowly with each word. "There are two actually." He was only a few feet away from her now. "One. You have to move in with me..." Kagome's eyes shot open wide and she 'gulped'
"Y-you want m-m-me to l-live with you at y-your house?" Kagome tried to back away further but found she was already stuck between him and the lamp post.
"Yeah..." he whispered, now his eyes only a few centimeters from hers as they looked down into her dark sparkling eyes. "... and the other condition..." she could feel his breath against her skin and it felt...good? She looked for a way out. When she found none she looked back into the hanyou's eyes and found her self lost in them. "you'll find out soon enough..." Inuyasha trailed of with the most seductive voice he could make.
"Hm..." Kagome was in a trance. She didn't move, she didn't even breath. She just stood there, starring.
"But," the hanyou turned away abruptly and began to walk back into the direction from which he came. "If you don't want to, you could always get another one of your friends do do it.
Kagome opened her mouth, then shut it, and opened it again quickly, trying to regain her ability to talk until she was able to force out one word. "Wait!"
The hanyou turned expectantly. "Hm?" He raised his eyebrows, waiting.
She looked back down at the ground shyly. "Will you really teach me how to use my powers?" she asked hopefully. He nodded. "F-fine. I'll do it." She was desprit. She was the laughing stock of the school. If he could change that then she would do anything he asked.
He sighed. "Okey then, let's go." She followed him to his motorcycle and watched him get on. "Come on!" She shook her head slowly. "Don't worry it's not that dangerous. Just get on. You'll be fine." He reassured her. Reluctantly, she walked over and sat down on the back of the bike, accepting the helmet and putting it on.
He turned to looke at her. She was staring at his back. She seemed scared. "I see you've never been on one of these before." Inuyasha grabbed her wrists from behind his back without turning around and pulled them forward. She blushed as he wrapped her arms around him and pulled her to him so that she was resting against his back. She smiled and watched as the buildings and streets sped past her, feeling safe with him with her.
Thirty minutes later...
The motorcycle slowed to a stop as it turned into the driveway of a very large mansion. Kagome looked up at it shocked. "Y-you live here?"
Inuyasha chuckled softly. "Yeah. You seem surprised."
Kagome nodded slightly. "I heard you were an orphan like me." She followed him up the stairs and into the large front room. "How could you possibly afford this place?" Kagome looked around, her mouth wide open.
"My parents were very rich. When they died. I inherited everything." He threw his keys and helmet onto the table nearby. "Fallow me!" he called, running up the steps. She followed him to the top of the steps to a long hallway. Every six feet there was a door.
'That's a lot of rooms.' Kagome thought to herself in awe as she followed him down the hall.
"This is the bathroom, this is a guest room, this is a guest room, guest room, guest room, guest room...guest room, guest room," he said quickly as they walked toward the two doors at the end of the hall. He opened one of the two opposite white doors to reveal a room that was completely white with brown carpeting. "This will be your room unless you would rather have one of the other rooms in the house. Anything you want here is yours." He handed her the key to her room and walked away quickly.
She walked into the room slowly and looked around at the almost completely bare walls. There was a clock and a fairly large mirror to cover them. She looked around at the room itself to see that there was a bed that looked almost identicle to hers with a small table next to it. She walked to the table and saw that it had a small phone with a tiny phonebook and a book on dogs next to it. She opened the phone book and flipped through it quickly to see that there was a letter inside.
Hey, I hope you'll be confortable for tonight. I found a small feather on your shirt the other day. I used it to find the bedspread it matched. I hope i got the right one. I tried to make the room look as much like home as possible. If you need anything, this book has the numbers you can call. Your room will be completely set up by the time you wake up tomorrow morning.
-Inuyasha
Kagome cocked her head to the side confusion, but decided to just leave it alone. She picked up the phone book and leafed through it again. It had the names of the various maids and butlers of the house as well as Inuyasha's number. Kagome giggled to herself. 'Well that's one way to get a boy's number.' She closed the book and placed it back down on the table. She then sat down on the carbon copy of her bed and fell asleep...
A/N: I made an especially long chapter because I want you to review while I sleep. I'm not sure I'm going to continue if you don't review.,,(waits for reviews...)
